Thanks for the video. I now understand how the seals work and no longer struggle to work out which way they go in. Much easier to understand than on the package insert.

I thought I really could not learn anymore about removing fork seals than what I already had experience with but wow Jeff I learn something every time I watch your vids. Your knowledge is priceless. Thanks for your time as always!

Even though the resolution of this video is so low I can barely make out anything, the explanation was so good, I totally understand now. Thank you.

@@slaverace1 I'm just being real. Couldn't make out anything visually, but you saved my ass. I could not figure out which way to install these things. Or the washer that sits behind the seals. I rebuilt a few times before I finally found this and I immediately knew how to orient the seals and washer so the seal would load up under hydraulic pressure. Forks have been bone dry since. Thank you again.

Great video, Jeff. Recently installed these green seals in my 200 EXC, no issues. I have a customer up in Canada who runs a motorcycle shop. He has been using those green seals for a while and swears by them for all his motocross customers. Says they are definitely worth the extra money. I can also highly recommend the new style Motion Pro fork seal drivers. I was a PVC user for years, finally bought the correct tools, and can't say enough good about them.

FWIW - In this video, Jeff says that KTM switched to the SKF seals in 2013, but my 2012 EXC came with these seals.

The direction of the fork and seal changes between the design of the fork. That could confuse some.

Hi. I have a 2012 500 EXC. On the shocks bottom heim joint my manual says don't use any grease or lube. Can I grease the shocks upper heim joint? Do you know any solvents that are safe to clean the lower hiem joint? Thanks

SKF came out with the red colored seals after that video was made. They are the same as the green ones just a different color.

This video is wrong about the direction that the seals go. Do not follow his advice. Most seals have one silver spring ring that faces the oil. Some seals like all balls have two silver spring rings but they also have three lips the side with two lips faces the oil on those seals. You can see and hear in his voice he is not confident in the way they go despite leading you to believe he is an expert on this subject. This video should be removed.

      John:
The description in the video is correct and you are totally wrong. I've rebuilt thousands of WP forks over the last 50 years. Go riding and stop being judgemental about a topic in which you fail.
