I wanted to thank you for your posts, here and on TikTok. My girlfriend is a 38-year-old autistic woman with ADHD and chronic health issues, and watching your videos initially gave her a sense of peace and calm. That alone was a spectacular thing, but she has started to believe that she has it in her to paint and create thanks to your simple instructions and encouragement. She's making huge strides both in the painting itself and in exhibiting a degree of self-confidence that she didn't have before. You have played a key role in that transformation, and I appreciate that so much.
I am autistic with ADHD, too and I want to start practicing watercolour again. I understand this explanation and it makes so much sense. Lovely humour and lovely drawings!❤
@@lavendersilk9625don’t hesitate 😂.. hesitation is a destroyer of motivation and courage. Next time you are out shopping grab & simple water coloring set & a smaller pad of good paper. I buy 3 packs of Artisto water color paper ($20) and Mei Lang watercolors (created by Paul Reuben who is a leader in watercolor pigment colors) Besides following here I also suggest Diane Walker & Vivo Vintage Art channels.. amazing art simplified for us. Paint a LOT ..that’s how we find out how the different styles work & what we enjoy. Think of every single piece as a ‘practice’ piece.. it takes all the pressure off. Art is supposed to be fun & relaxing. Turn on a favorite podcast or music and let it flow.. after a few tries it will tell you what it wants to be ❤ Have a lovely day. Happy Arting!🌹🌹🌹 Edit: I got the Artisto pads & Mei Lang 48 colors set on Amazon.. the paint set came with a pack of brushes & a water brush too. I also suggest making a card from the paper you’re using to swatch all the colors. We cannot really see what colors they are until we make a swatch card bc it’s pure pigment in the pans. The Artisto pads are smaller spiral bound books with perforated edges paper. Mine has a hummingbird on the cover.. $20 for 3 pads of 30 sheets each! When we get more experience we can move to expensive papers but for now this one is great bc no worries about getting tons of practice.
This is the first channel that actually makes me feel brave enough to try these watercolor tutorials. The steps seem doable and I love the reassurance. I was indeed thinking I couldn't paint a cardinal but then you addressed that worry. Looking forward to trying this tutorial as soon as I have some time away from my school work
Okay. I'm new to painting. TH-cam recommended this channel. And now I'm overjoyed. ❤ Don't know why I thought things had to be so complicated. This channel is truly inspiring and calming. I really hope this channel continues for a long time to come. We need it. ❤
You are a genius. I’ve never seen anyone make these things so accessible. And I’ve watched countless videos on watercolors. Genius. Thank you. After seeing your videos for a while I decided to try watercolors and have loved it. I now do it daily.
I have anxiety and even more so trying to make things look perfect. I love your easy non-judgemental ideas. So very helpful. I did this one and I felt so good after. Thank you!
I started the 2025 practice journal playlist -it’s so fun! I recorded a timelapse and it turned out so cool. I’m doing this today b.c well..it’s freezing and windy and i know the fox & cardinal will turn out great while the wind is howling. I’m also gonna add a lady cardinal for a real wintry party! Thank, you Andrea! You are an inspiring teacher!
How the water and color flows up for the snow is so neat. Also using the card for the birch tree trunks was such a good idea! Love your frog tee at the beginning so cute!
You always make it look so perfect! You made me go out and shop for supplies yesterday and $27 later I got more than I intended!Lol! I love love your frog shirt at the beginning!!!❤
I can't wait to try this! Thank you for the full video, I was wondering how to follow on TikTok/IG without a pause button. You are a really good teacher; you explain every step, and you are so enthusiastic!!!
Thank you so much for this video! I was able to paint Christmas cards for the first time ever and they actually look good because of these easy and adorable techniques! The birch trees!!! ❤
I did it! I did it! it didn't turn out as good as yours, but following your detailed instructions I was able to paint this and now "everyone" is thinking that I am so talented ha ha. Thank you very much. I'll keep trying. This is lots of fun :)
You have NO IDEA how I look forward to your posts. I wish we were neighbors!!! I’ve got supplies together to start doing your tutorials. I promise, they’re better for my mental health than Xanax ! Lol 🌻 Have a great Day!
Just found you, perfect timing. Loved this! The way it turned out, so charming. And the way your process and the result just shouted, "you can do this!" Thanks so much, Andrea - grateful new subscriber. 🙏❤🙏
I Love how happy you are! Makes me happy! and so does this painting ;-} Thank You! Oh and I actually tried this and my fox kinda looks like a dog and a bowling pin... ;-]
Love this! Thank you! It must make a difference based on the quality of paint right? I have cheap paints and my snow was not anywhere near as vibrant or flowing into the water. And my snow line is like I painted wet on dry, let it dry and then added water and pulled the line up. (If that makes sense lol). You make it so much fun to try! Thanks again!
It's funny because I came seeking out your youtube channel to find both parts of this painting, and you went on ahead and edited them together for me! Thank you so much! :) Question though: if you were to do this all over again as a single painting, would you paint the subject matter in the same order? For example would it still be: Fox->Snow line->Trees-> Snow line? Or would you opt to do Fox->Trees->Snow line? I love everything you do, thank you again. :)
Great question! I would do the fox and the trees first! I actually did another video that was similar with a white hare and trees. It's on instagram, but I'll post it here too!

I love it! Old-fashioned "happy little trees", but without being trite or derivative. That's a great technique, too.
I’m so glad you put this on TH-cam! For some reason videos on IG just don’t play as smoothly for me.
Tara your smile is the brightest thing in the room ✨️ 😊
