      @@abelesquivel4087it can be a lot of things. My case for example should just be the floats in my carb on my 80s k10 pickup. Rebuilt the carb and I’m just going to clean the plugs because they have maybe 15 minutes of run time but I believe the floats being so far out of adjustment was letting the carb way over fuel and foul out my plugs.

    For the price of a plug and the headaches even a thought to be fully cleaned and perfectly fine plug can cause its not worth it unless you have to have it running to finish a job thats 20 miles from the nearest new plug. Thenbif thats the case just give it a quick cleaning and drag some abrasive between the electrode and ground strap, blow off with some cleaner and run with it until a brand new plug can be had. No reason to spend more than enough time to get it to run long enough to dinish up for now!

    I mean on small stuff like that, that’s a 2 stroke plug (NGK BPMR7A) they are like 2-3$ a piece and you should always have spares for your equipment, heating them and cooling them like that can cause cracks in the porcelain because you cool it to quick and it’s just easier to fix the issue (re tune the carb that’s running super rich) and replace. Saves time trying to figure out lack of spark

    Don't use a cleaner that has chlorides in it (particularly, organic chlorides - found in some solvent cleaners, such as some brake cleaning fluids). Burning them can create phosgene gas, which is a nerve gas. People have died by burning that sort of stuff.

      @@Mohapi_Tau should replace them. If the engine you are using them on calls for iridium plugs then you really should be just replacing. Otherwise, oven cleaner or a small torch to burn off deposits might give short term relief to issues caused by old plugs.

      @@TheMoffBoy I've already replaced my plugs & the oil keeps getting on them, I know I may have to do an engine rebuild but not now. In fact I'll do it in the near future, for now however cleaning them seems to be the solution.

    • @TheMoffBoy
      @TheMoffBoy ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Mohapi_Tau how do you know it's oil? Assume you have fouled plugs? In which case, this could easily be a mixture issue. If you are running with fuel injection (assume so considering the use of iridium's) then likely a maf or more likely an O2 sensor issue. Possibly even an exhaust leak causing the ECU to dump fuel. Also a chance of a bad cat. If you have blue smoke then yeah likely oil. Believe it or not, most common cause of oil in the combustion chamber is either a faulty pcv valve or leaking valve stem seal, which usually is only a starting issue.
