Happy Friday! Here is some bite-size souls for you. More bites coming very soon (I recorded a lot). SIDE NOTE: My facecam footage kinda broke during this session so it'll just be sprinkled in during important moments for the next few videos. But I gotta be honest, I kinda like it like this though. What do you think?
For all of its flaws, I think I love Dark Souls 2's visuals the most of any Souls game. It has the most unique atmosphere and it reminds me of King's Field (which I grew up with) in many ways. Its biggest problem is the lack of real consistency with hitboxes, but man I love looking at it.
4:44 You have the menu open while trying to powerstance. I honestly dont remember if you could or couldnt powerstance with the menu open, but i thought it worth mentioning. Also, when powerstancing, the left handed attacks changes to dual weapon attacks. That's the strength of powerstancing.
Navigation is one of the hardest parts of this game imo. Can’t blame you one bit for missing the bonfire in the forest. Of note: Licia (the NPC after dragon rider) relocates to a spot where she also lets you access a new area. If you start at the Majula bonfire and make the walk back toward Heide’s Tower of Flame, you’ll run into her on the way and she will open a new path for a few souls
In Dark Souls II, most enemies will stop respawning after you kill them a certain number of times. I think it's about 12 times. This can be problematic when trying to farm an area. If you join the covenant from THIS [11:05] stone tablet, then enemies that stopped respawning will respawn again for as long as you are in the covenant. You can quit any covenant from the cat NPC's menu. Note: joining this covenant will make all enemies in the game somewhat stronger. So you might want to remember to leave the covenant before a boss fight.
There's still more in Forest of Giants to complete! You should go back to the bonfire where the old merchant lady was, go down the ladder, and check out all the doors around there. I'm really not trying to backseat but I highly suggest starting to level adaptability up at this point, you were getting hit in Dragonrider (the easiest early game boss) despite rolling in time because your s/adaptability stat are too low and that problem is only gonna get worse
@14:16 The ring was changed to this location in SotFS. You have the original version of the game, so the ring is elsewhere. It's only about a minute away, if you don't count everything that would try to murder you along the way.
Just in case you hadn't realised or forgot, there are still places in the previous area. For instance, after killing the Last Giant (YOU MONSTER!) you received a very handy key!
There are some cool areas coming up - will you show us the full exploration crawl? :) The episodic format is entertaining, and I think made sense for mopping up the areas you had partially done before, but for new areas I like to see the whole experience. In any case, most let's players I've watched over the years found out that DS2 is actually good - that it's supposedly so bad is like a meme in people's heads, but while it has a different style and is an outlier, and it has a few rough spots, it's a really good Souls or Soulslike game :)
2 weapons works very well in this game. Also unfortunately all the hidden walls in this game are pretty hard to notice but there are often player signs
There will probably be times at which you become frustrated with this game's flaws for a while, but as you have already seen, there is enjoyment to be had as well. I am glad that you are making up your own mind about DS2. By the way, I wish I had played this original version of the game instead of SotFS. The latter is much more annoying because of its modified enemy placements and their sheer increased number, and watching you play enforces this point for me with each episode.
Oh if nobody told you. You spam the talk button on walls in this game, if there's a message in front of a wall blocking you, keep spamming talk button and it will open.
Heide's Tower was the least deaths location I don't know why people find it difficult I died more in a poison windmill Hit enemies from behind, take your time And all Dark Souls trilogy will become easier
From Software cannot make a bad game even if they tried. The problem is that this is not a good Dark Souls game. By any other name this would have been a fairly good time worth getting on first round sale. Now it is the only "modern" souls game that I could not bring myself to finish. And I'm speaking as someone who platinumed Sekiro and spent hours grinding the chalice dungeons - I love From Soft.
Whats up with the edits? Cutting here and there, i get lost, dont know if you skipped a lot, or just few meters, aaaaaaaah keep it steady, the whole flow, let us see all of it ; )
@@LiliaTV The most notable area for me was in Heide's, beyond the Dragonrider bonfire (where one needs to slosh through water). The next area (Wharf) is going to be even worse, but I am guessing you may have already filmed that. 😉 It can look fine on your monitor, but still appear darker for your viewers. Not your fault, just the nature of the medium.
Watching it again there are a few cool areas, I think she just walked into one of my favorite areas of the game. There is an area or 2 yet she hasn't been to before I gave up on the game myself, I understand she likes the slower pace but I like the faster Elden Ring the best. I also like DS 3 and Bloodbourne better as well.

Honestly it adds importance to the moment!! Love seeing your reaction. Another amazing episode. Hope you're doing great!
@@DonArlem I thought so too! It kinda works :D
ring of binding is a good ring to wear.
You know when and where you said you had to remember to search for secret walls. You must have forgotten immediately after you said that.
I'm fine with no facecam if you prefer that
It is only a souls game if Lilia sings "Soul of a nameless soldier". Glad you are enjoying DS2!

It's biggest problem is fucking soul memory.

Secret wall at 3:01 wit a good staff and low level spell like glintstone shard from elden rings

a wonderful weekend thank you Awesome Lilia.🧀😋☕

Always enjoyed Dark Souls 2 myself. Not best in series but still fun stuff.
Loving this series so far, so excited to see you go through it all!

You aren't alone, Lilia. I, too, missed that first bonfire early on.😌
heres a tip. when u see enemies that has heavy armors or big ones, use blunt weapons like hammers or club. theyre weak against those weapons

"Can't you see I am targeting the dude!" It has already begun.
A lovely treat for a cozy Saturday morning! 🥰

Oh yeah! Haha thank you. Where does it go? 😁
@@LiliaTVthere is a door by the large stone sword you can walk on!
@@trixerius ooooo, thanks! I'll try to remember to go there next time I play
@@LiliaTV And one key can unlock multiple doors in a big building, actually ;) (yep, remember there were like three doors that were locked)

"Haters just need more coffee." - best advice I've heard in YEARS! :D :D :D :D
Caffinated Souls 2: the coffeecarameling !
Don’t give up, Skeleton!

Depending on the type of beans, that can end up being a dangerous, stinky tower.
2 weapons works very well in this game. Also unfortunately all the hidden walls in this game are pretty hard to notice but there are often player signs
Actually playing DS2 myself right now & about to finish it! On the Crown of the Ivory King dlc now! Cool game!😊
For powerstance, your new attacks should be on the Left trigger side instead of the right with a controller. Not sure where they are with a keyboard.
This thumbnail is just wonderful, L.
There is levers to make your battle stage bigger
allways liked all of them personally
you neeeeeed to upgrade your adp maam. 31 is enough
10:00 that locations is "easter egg", it should be ruins of Firelink Shrine from DS1. And that broken thing ? Its broken Lordvessel from DS1.
Ohhh, cool beans!
no, it literally means where her journey began when the crones asked for her name. that's the place in the start of the game.

I'm surprised about the amount of messages and bloodstaines. I assumed that the game would be as good as dead by now.

Heide's Tower was the least deaths location
I don't know why people find it difficult
I died more in a poison windmill
Hit enemies from behind, take your time

I never understood why darksouls 2 got so much hate. i suppose if you have a 10/10 and then a 8/10 and then 10/10 again, the 8 seems pretty bad.

Agreed!
I think you have your brightness setting a bit too low.
I think that the way TH-cam video compression works causes dark areas to appear even darker. So yeah, a bit brighter would be nice.
@Lucius_DeBeers which areas were too dark? It looked fine on my monitor. I can increase it a bit though if needed

Why is your ADP still at 5?
Bandit class starts with super low ADP… and it’s still early game.
it's a choice in the end. you can go hard on adp early on but then you'll be lacking on the other stats.
DS2 really IS fun. I understand why it gets a lot of flak, but I'm one of the people who actually prefers it over DS3.
Why no camface 🤨
Meh ❤
You are entitled to your very wrong opinion. Kidding 😂 I really should give it another go tbh

I mean... DS 2 is the weakest game in the series, but that doesn't really say much. ^.^
