    just put some 265 75 r16 AT on my 2003 tacoma trd off road couldont be happier. i live at the ranch and have a home in the city so im on the highway in the dirt mud daily. these tires are unbelieveable the way they handle on and off road. very little road noise great handling, control, and stability on and off road. its also been raining daily and the control and grip on the street is impressive great confidence with this tire especially with that 3 peak.

    Damn I needed this! I've narrowed it down to these two for my 2020 JLUR. This is a daily driver with occasional off-roading here in east Tennessee. I love the look and function ability of the MT but for our specific use and location, the AT would be the smarter choice!

    I have 8600 km on 35” Baja Boss ATs on my JLUR and can honestly say they are freaking fantastic in deep snow, slush icey roads, rain, rock and icey rock. They haven’t spent much time on the mud, so I can’t give a good opinion just yet.
    They are still very quiet.
    The 12.5 wide tires are wide; more like 12.8

      Ive got 10k miles on my ATs, they definitely wear faster than they claim, but they are absolutely fantastic. Ive gotten stuck once on some pretty gnarly wet rocks.
      Ill take the 30k mile max life for the awesome performance and they are so quiet compared to my dads wildpeak AT3Ws.
      Ive got Kumho Road Venture MT71s on my ranger, they are insanely quiet, especially for a mud terrain, they are dead silent even at 80 MPH.

    The ATs kill the KO2’s in performance anywhere the all seasons get weak. I will buy this tire over and over. I even bought new wheels to accommodate their recommendations.

    Care to do a review of the Interco superswamper M16 ive heard they are great on road and amazing offroad, something along the lines of:
    "excellent on road and gives a quiet and smooth ride at 50 psi tire pressure"
    "When aired down to 35-40 psi they are awsome. Almost as good as boggers on mud, much better than irocs in mud but not as good as iroc on rock..."

      @@TrailBuilt would you recommend LT over standard load for a tacoma? I ask since the LT in 265 75r16 are pretty heavy in comparison to the non LT tire same size(only asking cause tacomas are not too powerful to begin with and it's a daily, so not sure how bad a drop in mpg's that would be) . Also, the standards are not as aggressive on the sides and have less thread depth overall. Truck is mostly a daily with some moderate+ weekend Offroading and will see some rocky terrain here and there. Thanks.

    I have a question for you. I have 35 12.50 r17 MT baja boss Mts on my gladiator. 4wp tells me different stories about psi. One told me to put 38psi in them and another told me to put 30psi. The more psi I have in the tire the more the jeep steers crazy going down the highway. Which psi should I be putting in?

    • @TrailBuilt
      @TrailBuilt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Varies on the type of driving you plan on doing with those tires! I would say go around 33-35. I would stay away from the higher psi if they are giving you steering issues.

      I would say the A/T. You mentioned that you mainly drive in towns, and the A/T would be a better choice for that!

  • @scotianbank
    @scotianbank 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    You really shouldn't be deciding on an A/T or an M/T for your final choice, that part of choosing a tire should be simple: either you use your car as an off-road dedicated vehicle (ie, you only drive on road between your house, and the off-road trails/terrain), or you use your car mainly on roads, and ocassionally use it off-road (whether it be 1, 2, 3, 4 or more times a week, but you still use it to go between point a and point b on-road regularly).
    M/T tires have gained a lot of popularity, and that's fair, since off-roading has risen in popularity quite a lot in the past decade, specially after the Covid-19 pandemic, and let's face it, they look quite bad-ass. But unless you use your car solely for off-roading, or don't mind switching wheels for the weekend off-road trips, you should try and stick to A/Ts, even the more aggressive hybrid X-A/T type tires, whenever possible.
    A/T tires are just better for on-road use, both in comfort, safety, handling and thread life. But if you MUST get into some really gooey mud on the weekends, because you like to test your car's limits, or because you live in a very rainy/boggy region, then at least try and drive carefully when on-road, no high speeds on M/Ts!
    PD: some M/Ts are really cheaper, glorified hybrid A/Ts, so in that case it's not so bad, but even then, why buy those instead of actual good-quality hybrid A/Ts?

I don't want a 35x10.50r17, because it's rated on a 8.5 inch wide wheel, making the 35×10.50r17 a 35x10.00r17.
