      Maybe. Certainly is the most reminiscent of a modern structure frame that I've seen so far. I sort of think the primitive cement stone house might be a bit more impressive, just for the amount of processing that goes into it.

    • @heretoforeunknown

      @@travispluid3603 The amount of time necessary to procure the lumber, chisel out the retaining holes and build is not reflected in the short video presented.

      @@heretoforeunknown Of course not, and I know it's a lot of work, but it's more technically impressive to me to make your own cement to build a stone house with. I'm not saying this isn't impressive, just that I don't know if it's the most impressive. By the way, have a like.

    • @shadowtheimpure
      @shadowtheimpure 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@travispluid3603 The issue with the cement is that primitive cement isn't as stable as modern cement and would require constant retouch work to maintain stability. A wooden frame like this could stand for a century or more with minimal maintenance needed on the frame itself. All one has to do is treat the logs against rot, which can easily be done with a coat of pitch or tree resin.

    I think this channel just took the #1 spot as the most impressive primitive tech channel in the genre, by setting up a livable stone age farm, bootstrapping an upgrade to the iron age from raw materials, and now constructing a proper wooden house. I look forward to seeing how the floor, walls, and ceiling are made. Do you have enough iron available to make nails? If you need to smelt more iron, I'd love to see another video of that process!

    • @sanjaymatsuda4504
      @sanjaymatsuda4504 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@adrog3434 Iron rusts away into nothingness, and is very difficult to turn into quality steel, at least for primitive metallurgists. Bronze gets a protective green patina and is easy to harden and resharpen with no special tools or knowledge. Iron was not superior as a material, it was just easier to find than tin and copper. That's the reason it got so popular in the iron age.

      Well, you also need a permision to chop trees, making new water streams, little ponds for rice fields, have a paid permission for fishing, take boulders from the river.
