creative transition ideas pt 2 | after effects

hey guys, i'm tawny (she/her) and i edit random stuff on insta and tt! if you have any questions or requests, pls comment or dm me on insta :)
and a small note on tutorials - i probably won't be able to get around to making tutorials for all of the transitions simply because they take up a lot of time. however, if you have any questions on how i did something, or if you dm me on insta, i'd be glad to send a short video explaining the transition!
youtube is very much secondary to the actual edits i make, which is why all the transitions i post here are just taken out of the original edit. i don't need credits if you use any of these, i just hope they help!

ofc! so i started with the slide:
clip 2 was rotated 90 degrees, and i masked both of them so that there were four total clips - clip 1 top, clip 1 bottom, clip 2 top, clip 2 bottom
then i used s_blurmocurves (or u could just use the basic transform) to keyframe the slide up and slide down
precomp that all together and then use a midgraph to rotate it 90 degrees, so that the first clip starts upright and the second clip ends upright (if that makes sense)
then i used cc burn film at the end but that's not necessary, and a basic zoom out at the beginning over the precomp (using s_blurmocurves, s_warpfisheye, and turbulent displace, but those aren't necessary)
finally, i used s_dissolveluma and keyframed the opacity so that the third clip would show up and did a zoom in at the beginning, and a zoom in on the previous clip as well so that it's smooth
i also added cc light rays to the third clip :) let me know if that makes sense!
