Less of a horror story, more of a funny one: 2010, Rocky Mountain Fur Con. After the fursuit parade, the hotel offered to take some of us up to an outdoor shopping center nearby where Bass Pro Shop was one of the anchor stores. So a full hotel shuttle of us went up there and they would pick us up in like an hour and a half or whatever. So my best friend Stephen & I walked around with our then-friend Oren Otter in his suit, getting lots of pictures in the fishing department, because otters love fishies. After about half an hour we saw these signs for a hunting seminar and thought "OK, interesting." A couple minutes later, the store's assistant manager came up to us & told us we needed to leave because "Having people in animal costumes near a hunting seminar sends mixed messages." We didn't want to start any trouble so we apologized & left then told the other furries who had taken the shuttle with us what happened. This is still one of my favorite convention memories and one of my go-to "2 Truths and a Lie" or "tell me a funny story about yourself" stories.
That is a horror story, with a funny situation. That was a good way to handle the situation, even if it may have felt lame. You deffently would of not wanted to start Furry hunting season there.
Denfur 2019: My first con, hotel told me I couldn't check into my prepaid room becuase I was "underage." My (older) friend, who is active military, showed his military ID and then they treated us like royalty.

Thank god I had a friend with me who was 21 at the time and also in the armed forces, so that made the hotel bend over backwards for us, and transferred my reservation to his name.
The stalker/clinger-on thing happened to me and my friends too. Some people just have no radar for when they are no longer wanted around. It was to the point where one of my friend had met a guy he thought was cute and was retreating to his room for.. y'know, privacy... and the guy FOLLOWED THEM TO THE ROOM and didn't undrstand that his presence at that time was REALLY not needed.
yeah lots of emo people just don't have a lot of common sense, maybe it's their first con. But just be polite and kick them out, or rather stop them at the door before they follow you in! I always look both ways before entering my room in or out of fursuit! (especially in fursuit)
As a bit of a greymuzzle, I can assure you it's been the same since 2002 when I went to my own first con, AC back when it was in Philly. A lot of this I feel has to do with the history of our group. Three things I feel contribute. First, the general age range, which is usually anywhere from 14 to 27 or so, with exceptions. But the larger portion are teenagers and early 20s. So not always in the most socially apt part of their lives. Second, you're dealing with a lot of people that are, admittedly, in a fandom which attracts fringe members of society. This is both good and bad, because it's cool that furry has been so accepting, but it comes with a cost, which is also partly reason #3, which is that a LOT of furry conventioneers in the 80s and 90s came from other cons (scifi/fantasy fandoms) and were in some cases kind of outcasts, or perhaps better described as we didn't have home conventions of our own for our own interests. (also, I can't speak for others, but I've run into a LOT of other furs who have social issues, are very seriously not socially conscious or well developed that way). Like I said, we attract and tend to include just about anyone. Inclusiveness like that comes at the price of having a lot of people who kind of just 'don't get' personal space, general social contract, or acceptable personal limits. Partly a big reason personal hygiene, making sure furs eat properly at con, and other such things are necessary to be constantly reminded at cons. Of course, part of that is also just because a lot of newcomers show up each year, many younger furs, and they don't understand the need to make sure you feed yourself regularly, stay clean not just for your own safety and welfare, but for others, and to rest yourself, regardless of what parts of con you may be missing. The other downer I feel is some of the cons have just gotten too big. It's great to see so many people at one.... but a lot of cons back in the day were MUCH smaller affairs. Things like the NJ/DE new years furry ball started out as literally 20-odd people at someone's home, and later moved to a hotel and got bigger.. MUCH bigger. Anthrocon I understand started similarly. It's a LOT easier to meet and spend time with other people, friends you don't see often because distance, or otherwise hang out, when there aren't a million panels, events, and other such things going on.
I am a service dog handler and at my first convention in 2020 the ADA advocate for that particular furcon also had a service dog. I was very excited that they had a whole segment in the opening ceremonies about how to respect service dogs what they do for people and to just ignore them and pretend they don't exist. A few hours later as I was rolling around the dealer's den, we crossed paths with the Ada advocate and her dog, and her dog lunged and snarled teeth gnashing at my service dog. My dog handled it very well and just looked at her dog funny, and she was very apologetic which I appreciate it but at the same time it was very stressful and kind of put me off of conventions for a few years honestly
this may not count as a horror story, but here we go: It's 2019 in buenos aires, argentina, and Arff (argentina furry fiesta) is being held at a certain hotel a few hours from my place. I travel there knowing I wouldn't be able to get in; but my goal was to meet some online friends there at the entrance. There was this one fellow artist that I spoke to who invited me to meet her at her hotel and go for some coffe so I did. Then came this stupidly fast but heavy rain, completely out of nowhere; and since I didn't have an umbrella, got the most water on me getting pretty soggy. Also the wind, bruuuuuuh. I showed up there, but no sign of her. I waited...and waited...and waited, all this under the weird look someone inside was giving me. Later she texted me to go meet at the cafeteria, and i went there to wait for her. In the meantime, I took a seat by the window, holding my wet backpack to my chest, balancing back and forth (I was so nervous that ticks came up). Baristas thought i was a beggar, and one said "bro you want some leftovers we got here? come grab some if you want". Laughing yet thankful, i told them the truth. As this was happening, she came in, we greeted each other, we talked and so. When we walk back passing the hotel, she tells me that the guy that had been staring at me from the lobby had called a cop thinking i was up to no good. hooded, messy look, not the clearest skin...too many "prejudicable" items together; i might have been arrested till i could provide an ID (mine was at home 6miles away) and have my parents explain who i really was (i went to the con behind their backs). so basically saved by the bell.
@@Voreoptera well, yeah, it's so easy to miss on someone who you've probably never seen in person, lol. Also there can be pretty tight agendas either sides. But it's all worth it in the end. I had a sincere blast. Can't wait to go to one con as attendant! :D

Ugg it wasn't at a con but one halloween my steap sister and her friends raided my room on halloween. My step sis and her "friends" took my two fursuits, my professional an *exspencive* costume/cosplay makeup and some of my SCA garb, dressed up and went off to some halloween party in the shadey part of town. I had been in the next town over with my friend on a huge zombie walk Halloween day event. After the walk we met some horror enthusiasts who invited us last minute to a live play of Rocky Horror Picture Show party event that night. An prepping for that nights play my an my friend found we didn't have enough makeup to pull off the full "hooker look" we were going for so we decided to go back home to grab my makeup kit an some more costume bits. But I came back to find my room COMPLEATLY ransacked. I had a panic attack from hell as there was easily 3k worth of costumes, makeup & jewelry all missing. Thankfully at the end of Iit all my steap sister and her gang came home at like 6am to me and my *seething* parents. I got most of the exspencive things taken back but I was still a wreck and I missed the show. Needless to say... my room has a super lock an my steap sister was grounded for a year an all her friends banned from our house. 😒😤 Lock you stuff up kids, never know when a gaggle of drugged up young adults will ransack your room.
My first con will be this coming May, and I've always figured this from certain videos I've watched: 1. Don't be a dumbass 2. Shower, eat, and sleep like a normal person 3. Basic courtesy and respect can go a long way 4. When in doubt, ask.
You can never experience a horror con story if you've never been to a con(lol :'v) Daaaamn sis, that's some crazy sh*t you've been through. This one story you told us was the one you guys told along with chip in the other animated vid? always interesting to hear from others whether good or bad. Since I've yet to attend one, i take it pretty educational (besides obvious behaviour etiquette and basic manners). Like this storytimes, Ash. I guess the biggest problem this gives me is, how safe is a Furry convection. For someone who only started getting in to Furry's at the start of 2020. I thought most of the time they were fine, and when something does go wrong it is usaly one person doing it.
my favorite con memory. Was probably either when i got trapped in an elevator at TFF 2022 for like an hour and a half, half and the call button didn’t work. That same convention the fire alarm went off twice in the middle of the night. Or at TFF 2023 where I found not one, but two used diapers in the stairwell.

Could really relate to your story about that roomie borrowing the suit Ash. Me and hubby never have roomies at cons, we rarely even book within the con booking system, we make sure we have a room directly from the hotel well in advance and stay clear of any room-shares or queue drama.
Stealing a fursuit is like stealing someone's identity. Don't do it or you'll get kicked. I just came from Beta telling his own con story about being stalked. I also didn't expect Kona and October.
A lot of the comments in this episode is why I try to get a room just to myself at cons. I used to snore really badly (its gotten better) so have kept roommates up at cons before. Or worse, flipping over in my sleep and waking up with my hand on the other person (usually in a bad spot for it to be). Plus I want the alone time in the room at night and sometimes during the day as a break. I am never comfortable with others in the room even if I know then well.
In my opinion stealing fursuits is considered theft. If it was allowed if someone stole my fursuit I'd have them put in handcuffs or I would lock my fursuit in the closet inside the room

I started going to cons in late 2018 so I only have one horror story. Long story short at my very first convention I went pot luck and roomed with strangers I never met (which never do this!!). I lucked out and they ended up being awesome furs that I ended up rooming with again the following year at a different con. Well the main organizer of the group decided to take in a room hopper without telling anyone. He ended up being the shadiest and disrespectful person I ever met. At one point he looked over at me and said unprovoked "Hey why don't you make me a drink b***h." which took me so far aback. When it was finally time for him to leave we were at the hotel pool downstairs and he was trying really hard to borrow one of our room keys so he can grab his stuff alone. I had none of that and kept saying "O dont worry Ill escort you upstairs, I think I'm done swimming". Just the way he was staring me down in the room while he was gathering his things made me sure he was going to try to steal some things. Thank goodness I didnt have my suit at the time.
During the Bagel story, I wanted to give Beagle a HUGE hug! Poor pupper. Also, my "con" story is not really a con and it is not furry related, but it is still a wired one. I have always loved lego "GBC" (great ball contraption) displays. When we learned their was going to be a lego "convention" near us, we were so excited and got tickets. The day finally came and we got to the place, we showed our tickets, and it was SEVERELY disappointing!!!! It looked like a wherehouse speckled with UNOFFICIAL Lego sellers and lego related things that you would find at a middle school science fair. We actually had this one shady seller that tax would be added to our purchase if we paid with credit card. It was very wired and sketchy.
At ANW 2019, I had to go to the hospital that Friday and found out that I had something wrong with my gallbladder. I was able to go back the next day though!
At least at LEAST the guy didn't run off with the suit and came back with it, I mean it's not okay, but jesus imagine how scary it would've been if he just took it and ran
My homemade fursuit has so many zippers and intricate elements I think I'm the only one who can figure out how to put it on, so I don't think stealing will be a problem XD (But never say never though o_o)
I made a beautiful realistic unicorn suit and I kept have people letting their children try to jump on my back to "ride the horsie" while I'm on high digistilts. A kid ran and jumped on my back and I fell twisted my ankle and my suit got ripped and I was too blame because quote "don't wear a horse suit around children unless you want kids trying to jump on to ride" even though it was the parents letting their kids jump on a random strangers back that obviously didn't want kids on me.
Oh, my favorite story is free knife! So it was the last day of Aquatifur 2018, and my friends and I were outside our hotel getting ready to head home. We were staying at another hotel, not the con one. So we are talking and laughing in the parking lot, and I see something shiny in the ice. So I walk over, and it is a rusty knife. Just a butter knife, but still, a knife. So I kick it a few times and it gets loose from the ice. My friends are like "HOLY SHIT A KNIFE". So I pick it up and put it in my car, thus, free knife. Fast forward to MFF 2019, and it is last day of the con. We are walking back to our hotel from the convention center and one of my friend goofs like "haha wouldn't it be funny if you found another knife." and I just look over into the bushes near our hotel. And I see a plastic knife. I awkwardly grab it and show my friends (I couldn't take it home this time as I was heading back on a plane), before tossing it. So I am now cursed to find knives at furry conventions.
I really want to gather money for a con in the future. Even though this wacky shit can happen, it seems like such a fun idea to meet so many new people!

I went to one furcon: Fur Reality last year and I have a lot of horror stories from those 4 days, mostly at school on Thursday(Halloween) and Friday but 2 were con related
So at school, I got trapped in a bathroom stall and I managed to get help.. 15 minutes of that.. Actually only half were from school lol as there was one other, my guitar teacher was away and we had a sub, Rocksmith was not working on the computer I used.. So here I am struggling and I ask for help, get help and well, nothing works.. So I email my teacher about it and lemme say this, I was pretty stressed and my teacher actually comes back by the end of class, my next class is when I got trapped in a bathroom stall, I was kinda embarrassed when my teacher came back, I felt so awkward.. At Fur Reality, I was with my brother right and I was leading the way to where I thought a fursuit panel was happening and well, we are both minors and we end up in a 18+ panel and I seriously thought that meeting and talking to people in rounds were just introductions to the fursuit panel for whatever reason, I eventually looked at the schedule and realized the oops.. Raise my hand and tell the panelist: "I have a concern".. They let us out saying "You aren't in trouble" and guess what there was no person standing at the door checking con badges?! My last one happened the first day, was getting picked up and getting into the car, it was a cold around 7:30 PM night yeah blah blah blah.. Here's the thing, my mom's foot slipped and there goes the car wheel into mainly my left toe! It hurt and felt numb, my dinner was Auntie Anne's pretzel nuggets and I ate it after this so I was eating it suffering lol.. My mom, dad, and myself checked my foot, didn't seem broken to us thank goodness.. My mom went into panic thinking she will get arrested and asking me if I need to go to the emergency room.. When my dad checked my foot after my mom dropped me and my brother off at home, a big chunk of newly dead skin got pulled off and he put a bandaid with peroxide on it on my left toe which was affected the most.. Then chill after shower with comfy stuff a top my left foot.. Wake up Friday morning and it feels so much better! Get to school and tell my teacher I might have to miss the whole class before going to the nurse's office to get my foot checked.. Lucky for me, I was informed by the nurse that I got lucky and nothing was broken! Best part was that I got to tell nurses about furry stuff and Fur Reality, they were wholesome and now I miss them! Later that day, I found out my now almost 8 year old iPad mini won't be affected by a change that would break its ability to connect online due to daylight savings time, that was awesome! Denfur 2021. My first ever con I asked around for any room parties because it was Saturday night. I didn't have any roommates and I was bored so I got told to go room whatever. So I show up and boom. No one told me it was a uhhhh murrsuit party? So I ended up sitting on a couch, mostly drunk, sipping on a glass of water as people all around me were getting it on. Until eventually two people showed up that I clung to for dear life and I left with them to go hang out in their room until it was time to stumble my drunk ass back to my room. Overall it was a good time
So a few years back I went to my first convention (which has since been disbanded). At the time I didn’t have a suit, but I had a tail and ears. I wore a light dress due to the heat and put the tail under the dress. But this one guy also not in suit kept harassing me. Calling me names like ‘fox whore’ and other I would rather not say, he kept asking me if the tail was a butt plug-which it wasn’t. Thankfully I could see his face and report him to the authority’s. Now this already seems like a horror story in its self, but the worst part was I was only 17 at the time.
I dont have a furry con horror story but I do have a con horror story. So I was extremely young at the time, I think I was 6 or 7, when my freinds mom took my freind and I to comic con. I did not have a costume like my freind and her mom becase I was told I was able to go last minute. My freind and I broke off from her mom to go look at the artist in the dealers den (I think thats what it is called) when I noticed someone in a Deadpool shirt just kinda starting at us. My freind was a year younger then me and was wearing a pretty revealing Harly Quinn costume. I took off my jacket pit it around her shoulders and guided her away to try and find her mom. As we were walking around all the other booths I noticed he was following us. I freaked out and my freind was so confused why I was in a hurry to leave when I was the one who wanted to check out all the artist in the first place. I got on one knee and she jumped onto my back. This is something we do a lot becase we are weird. I ran off but noticed he was jogging to try and keep up with us. I noticed a couple dressed as Zelda and link and screamed "mom, dad, im so glad I found you. You were there one second gone the next" my freind was so confused becase we didn't know these people. I told them what was happening and they helped us find my freidns mom and even reported said man to con staff. This scared me so badly I refused to go to cons for years. I'm turning 16 soon and I'm going to my first con since the incident. Kinda excited but also really scared.

My friend her cousin and I were at a con I forgot the name but we got lost and 3 people started following us I had my old fur head on and thay would not stop following us the whole con for 4 days the last day me and my friend went home we had to drive 2 days because thay were following us in another car my friends cousin told us one of them gave her there number I called them and asked why thay were following us thay said that there friend loved my furrsuit head and wanted to take a picture with us but thay were to nervous
🦊👍🥰👍🦊 I don’t own a fursuit 😭😭😭 but I used to do Star Wars costuming for events as part of a group to raise money for charities. My costume was very expensive and I used to get a lot of stalkers that would follow me back to the break room and just sit and wait until I would re emerge then continue following me. I just boiled it down to shyness, but at the times it happened it felt quite creepy. The other issue was when you had some people that just couldn’t keep their hands to themselves, really I could have had them done for sexual harassment but I never did as I didn’t want to cause a scene at a charity event with sick kids and that around if you know what I mean.
Not a furry con or a fursuiting story but a horrible furry experience. I remember when my niece allowed me to wear my wolf tail and ears somewhere with her. It was a skating rink. I had a tail I made and Pawstar ears to match it. Someone pulled my tail and I just turned around look so upset about it. I continued to go on like nothing happened. They could've broke my handmade tail I spent 2 days on with barely any sleep to make but I'm glad they didn't. My oldest brother and his wife was there with us and someone ended up throwing a plastic water bottle at my brother's wife. There was this person who howled like a wolf quietly as I passed by them too.. I was upset about it but ignored it the whole time. It was this one group of friends and they were later kicked out and temporarily banned for a month. They were being very rude to me and my family just because I wore a black wolf tail and wolf ears to a skating rink. They didn't even know what a furry was and probably never saw something like this before.

Of course, part of that is also just because a lot of newcomers show up each year, many younger furs, and they don't understand the need to make sure you feed yourself regularly, stay clean not just for your own safety and welfare, but for others, and to rest yourself, regardless of what parts of con you may be missing.
The other downer I feel is some of the cons have just gotten too big. It's great to see so many people at one.... but a lot of cons back in the day were MUCH smaller affairs. Things like the NJ/DE new years furry ball started out as literally 20-odd people at someone's home, and later moved to a hotel and got bigger.. MUCH bigger. Anthrocon I understand started similarly. It's a LOT easier to meet and spend time with other people, friends you don't see often because distance, or otherwise hang out, when there aren't a million panels, events, and other such things going on.

I am a service dog handler and at my first convention in 2020 the ADA advocate for that particular furcon also had a service dog. I was very excited that they had a whole segment in the opening ceremonies about how to respect service dogs what they do for people and to just ignore them and pretend they don't exist. A few hours later as I was rolling around the dealer's den, we crossed paths with the Ada advocate and her dog, and her dog lunged and snarled teeth gnashing at my service dog. My dog handled it very well and just looked at her dog funny, and she was very apologetic which I appreciate it but at the same time it was very stressful and kind of put me off of conventions for a few years honestly
That bagel story was a roller coaster of emotions that I did not expect.

this may not count as a horror story, but here we go:
It's 2019 in buenos aires, argentina, and Arff (argentina furry fiesta) is being held at a certain hotel a few hours from my place. I travel there knowing I wouldn't be able to get in; but my goal was to meet some online friends there at the entrance. There was this one fellow artist that I spoke to who invited me to meet her at her hotel and go for some coffe so I did. Then came this stupidly fast but heavy rain, completely out of nowhere; and since I didn't have an umbrella, got the most water on me getting pretty soggy. Also the wind, bruuuuuuh. I showed up there, but no sign of her. I waited...and waited...and waited, all this under the weird look someone inside was giving me. Later she texted me to go meet at the cafeteria, and i went there to wait for her. In the meantime, I took a seat by the window, holding my wet backpack to my chest, balancing back and forth (I was so nervous that ticks came up). Baristas thought i was a beggar, and one said "bro you want some leftovers we got here? come grab some if you want". Laughing yet thankful, i told them the truth. As this was happening, she came in, we greeted each other, we talked and so. When we walk back passing the hotel, she tells me that the guy that had been staring at me from the lobby had called a cop thinking i was up to no good. hooded, messy look, not the clearest skin...too many "prejudicable" items together; i might have been arrested till i could provide an ID (mine was at home 6miles away) and have my parents explain who i really was (i went to the con behind their backs).
so basically saved by the bell.

Ugg it wasn't at a con but one halloween my steap sister and her friends raided my room on halloween. My step sis and her "friends" took my two fursuits, my professional an *exspencive* costume/cosplay makeup and some of my SCA garb, dressed up and went off to some halloween party in the shadey part of town. I had been in the next town over with my friend on a huge zombie walk Halloween day event. After the walk we met some horror enthusiasts who invited us last minute to a live play of Rocky Horror Picture Show party event that night. An prepping for that nights play my an my friend found we didn't have enough makeup to pull off the full "hooker look" we were going for so we decided to go back home to grab my makeup kit an some more costume bits. But I came back to find my room COMPLEATLY ransacked. I had a panic attack from hell as there was easily 3k worth of costumes, makeup & jewelry all missing. Thankfully at the end of Iit all my steap sister and her gang came home at like 6am to me and my *seething* parents. I got most of the exspencive things taken back but I was still a wreck and I missed the show. Needless to say... my room has a super lock an my steap sister was grounded for a year an all her friends banned from our house. 😒😤 Lock you stuff up kids, never know when a gaggle of drugged up young adults will ransack your room.

My first con will be this coming May, and I've always figured this from certain videos I've watched:
1. Don't be a dumbass
2. Shower, eat, and sleep like a normal person
3. Basic courtesy and respect can go a long way
4. When in doubt, ask.
You can never experience a horror con story if you've never been to a con(lol :'v) Daaaamn sis, that's some crazy sh*t you've been through. This one story you told us was the one you guys told along with chip in the other animated vid? always interesting to hear from others whether good or bad. Since I've yet to attend one, i take it pretty educational (besides obvious behaviour etiquette and basic manners). Like this storytimes, Ash.

I guess the biggest problem this gives me is, how safe is a Furry convection. For someone who only started getting in to Furry's at the start of 2020. I thought most of the time they were fine, and when something does go wrong it is usaly one person doing it.

my favorite con memory. Was probably either when i got trapped in an elevator at TFF 2022 for like an hour and a half, half and the call button didn’t work. That same convention the fire alarm went off twice in the middle of the night. Or at TFF 2023 where I found not one, but two used diapers in the stairwell.

Me and hubby never have roomies at cons, we rarely even book within the con booking system, we make sure we have a room directly from the hotel well in advance and stay clear of any room-shares or queue drama.

A lot of the comments in this episode is why I try to get a room just to myself at cons. I used to snore really badly (its gotten better) so have kept roommates up at cons before. Or worse, flipping over in my sleep and waking up with my hand on the other person (usually in a bad spot for it to be). Plus I want the alone time in the room at night and sometimes during the day as a break. I am never comfortable with others in the room even if I know then well.
In my opinion stealing fursuits is considered theft. If it was allowed if someone stole my fursuit I'd have them put in handcuffs or I would lock my fursuit in the closet inside the room

I started going to cons in late 2018 so I only have one horror story. Long story short at my very first convention I went pot luck and roomed with strangers I never met (which never do this!!). I lucked out and they ended up being awesome furs that I ended up rooming with again the following year at a different con. Well the main organizer of the group decided to take in a room hopper without telling anyone. He ended up being the shadiest and disrespectful person I ever met. At one point he looked over at me and said unprovoked "Hey why don't you make me a drink b***h." which took me so far aback. When it was finally time for him to leave we were at the hotel pool downstairs and he was trying really hard to borrow one of our room keys so he can grab his stuff alone. I had none of that and kept saying "O dont worry Ill escort you upstairs, I think I'm done swimming". Just the way he was staring me down in the room while he was gathering his things made me sure he was going to try to steal some things. Thank goodness I didnt have my suit at the time.
During the Bagel story, I wanted to give Beagle a HUGE hug! Poor pupper.
Also, my "con" story is not really a con and it is not furry related, but it is still a wired one. I have always loved lego "GBC" (great ball contraption) displays. When we learned their was going to be a lego "convention" near us, we were so excited and got tickets. The day finally came and we got to the place, we showed our tickets, and it was SEVERELY disappointing!!!! It looked like a wherehouse speckled with UNOFFICIAL Lego sellers and lego related things that you would find at a middle school science fair. We actually had this one shady seller that tax would be added to our purchase if we paid with credit card. It was very wired and sketchy.

I made a beautiful realistic unicorn suit and I kept have people letting their children try to jump on my back to "ride the horsie" while I'm on high digistilts. A kid ran and jumped on my back and I fell twisted my ankle and my suit got ripped and I was too blame because quote "don't wear a horse suit around children unless you want kids trying to jump on to ride" even though it was the parents letting their kids jump on a random strangers back that obviously didn't want kids on me.
Oh, my favorite story is free knife!
So it was the last day of Aquatifur 2018, and my friends and I were outside our hotel getting ready to head home. We were staying at another hotel, not the con one. So we are talking and laughing in the parking lot, and I see something shiny in the ice. So I walk over, and it is a rusty knife. Just a butter knife, but still, a knife. So I kick it a few times and it gets loose from the ice. My friends are like "HOLY SHIT A KNIFE". So I pick it up and put it in my car, thus, free knife.
Fast forward to MFF 2019, and it is last day of the con. We are walking back to our hotel from the convention center and one of my friend goofs like "haha wouldn't it be funny if you found another knife." and I just look over into the bushes near our hotel. And I see a plastic knife. I awkwardly grab it and show my friends (I couldn't take it home this time as I was heading back on a plane), before tossing it.
So I am now cursed to find knives at furry conventions.

I went to one furcon: Fur Reality last year and I have a lot of horror stories from those 4 days, mostly at school on Thursday(Halloween) and Friday but 2 were con related
So at school, I got trapped in a bathroom stall and I managed to get help.. 15 minutes of that.. Actually only half were from school lol as there was one other, my guitar teacher was away and we had a sub, Rocksmith was not working on the computer I used.. So here I am struggling and I ask for help, get help and well, nothing works.. So I email my teacher about it and lemme say this, I was pretty stressed and my teacher actually comes back by the end of class, my next class is when I got trapped in a bathroom stall, I was kinda embarrassed when my teacher came back, I felt so awkward.. At Fur Reality, I was with my brother right and I was leading the way to where I thought a fursuit panel was happening and well, we are both minors and we end up in a 18+ panel and I seriously thought that meeting and talking to people in rounds were just introductions to the fursuit panel for whatever reason, I eventually looked at the schedule and realized the oops.. Raise my hand and tell the panelist: "I have a concern".. They let us out saying "You aren't in trouble" and guess what there was no person standing at the door checking con badges?! My last one happened the first day, was getting picked up and getting into the car, it was a cold around 7:30 PM night yeah blah blah blah.. Here's the thing, my mom's foot slipped and there goes the car wheel into mainly my left toe! It hurt and felt numb, my dinner was Auntie Anne's pretzel nuggets and I ate it after this so I was eating it suffering lol.. My mom, dad, and myself checked my foot, didn't seem broken to us thank goodness.. My mom went into panic thinking she will get arrested and asking me if I need to go to the emergency room.. When my dad checked my foot after my mom dropped me and my brother off at home, a big chunk of newly dead skin got pulled off and he put a bandaid with peroxide on it on my left toe which was affected the most.. Then chill after shower with comfy stuff a top my left foot.. Wake up Friday morning and it feels so much better! Get to school and tell my teacher I might have to miss the whole class before going to the nurse's office to get my foot checked.. Lucky for me, I was informed by the nurse that I got lucky and nothing was broken! Best part was that I got to tell nurses about furry stuff and Fur Reality, they were wholesome and now I miss them! Later that day, I found out my now almost 8 year old iPad mini won't be affected by a change that would break its ability to connect online due to daylight savings time, that was awesome! Denfur 2021. My first ever con I asked around for any room parties because it was Saturday night. I didn't have any roommates and I was bored so I got told to go room whatever. So I show up and boom. No one told me it was a uhhhh murrsuit party? So I ended up sitting on a couch, mostly drunk, sipping on a glass of water as people all around me were getting it on. Until eventually two people showed up that I clung to for dear life and I left with them to go hang out in their room until it was time to stumble my drunk ass back to my room. Overall it was a good time
So a few years back I went to my first convention (which has since been disbanded). At the time I didn’t have a suit, but I had a tail and ears. I wore a light dress due to the heat and put the tail under the dress. But this one guy also not in suit kept harassing me. Calling me names like ‘fox whore’ and other I would rather not say, he kept asking me if the tail was a butt plug-which it wasn’t. Thankfully I could see his face and report him to the authority’s.
Now this already seems like a horror story in its self, but the worst part was I was only 17 at the time.
I dont have a furry con horror story but I do have a con horror story. So I was extremely young at the time, I think I was 6 or 7, when my freinds mom took my freind and I to comic con. I did not have a costume like my freind and her mom becase I was told I was able to go last minute. My freind and I broke off from her mom to go look at the artist in the dealers den (I think thats what it is called) when I noticed someone in a Deadpool shirt just kinda starting at us. My freind was a year younger then me and was wearing a pretty revealing Harly Quinn costume. I took off my jacket pit it around her shoulders and guided her away to try and find her mom. As we were walking around all the other booths I noticed he was following us. I freaked out and my freind was so confused why I was in a hurry to leave when I was the one who wanted to check out all the artist in the first place. I got on one knee and she jumped onto my back. This is something we do a lot becase we are weird. I ran off but noticed he was jogging to try and keep up with us. I noticed a couple dressed as Zelda and link and screamed "mom, dad, im so glad I found you. You were there one second gone the next" my freind was so confused becase we didn't know these people. I told them what was happening and they helped us find my freidns mom and even reported said man to con staff. This scared me so badly I refused to go to cons for years. I'm turning 16 soon and I'm going to my first con since the incident. Kinda excited but also really scared.

My friend her cousin and I were at a con I forgot the name but we got lost and 3 people started following us I had my old fur head on and thay would not stop following us the whole con for 4 days the last day me and my friend went home we had to drive 2 days because thay were following us in another car my friends cousin told us one of them gave her there number I called them and asked why thay were following us thay said that there friend loved my furrsuit head and wanted to take a picture with us but thay were to nervous

🦊👍🥰👍🦊 I don’t own a fursuit 😭😭😭 but I used to do Star Wars costuming for events as part of a group to raise money for charities. My costume was very expensive and I used to get a lot of stalkers that would follow me back to the break room and just sit and wait until I would re emerge then continue following me. I just boiled it down to shyness, but at the times it happened it felt quite creepy. The other issue was when you had some people that just couldn’t keep their hands to themselves, really I could have had them done for sexual harassment but I never did as I didn’t want to cause a scene at a charity event with sick kids and that around if you know what I mean.
Not a furry con or a fursuiting story but a horrible furry experience.
I remember when my niece allowed me to wear my wolf tail and ears somewhere with her. It was a skating rink. I had a tail I made and Pawstar ears to match it. Someone pulled my tail and I just turned around look so upset about it. I continued to go on like nothing happened.
They could've broke my handmade tail I spent 2 days on with barely any sleep to make but I'm glad they didn't.
My oldest brother and his wife was there with us and someone ended up throwing a plastic water bottle at my brother's wife.
There was this person who howled like a wolf quietly as I passed by them too..
I was upset about it but ignored it the whole time.
It was this one group of friends and they were later kicked out and temporarily banned for a month.
They were being very rude to me and my family just because I wore a black wolf tail and wolf ears to a skating rink.
They didn't even know what a furry was and probably never saw something like this before.
