What i did with my First Hagstrom was that i filed down a little of where the Strings at the bridge go over. About 1 mm each notch. Helped a lot with the Action Height.

I have a fantomen since 2018-19 probably my best guitar. I like it so much I might end up getting the Fantomen Custom

This is why I don't buy guitars online, I bought my Hagstron ultra max in store, and have had no problems with IT, ever. Great guitar.

is 2mm action that high? Always thought 2mm is kind of the middle ground.

On cheap acoustic guitar maybe, not sure on modern solo instrument.

@@_-_Michael_-_ googling internet and experience from luthier learns that 2mm is kind of middel grond for electric.

Thanks for commenting! On a instrument with vintage frets 2mm is average. With high or jumbo frets it seems too much for most players and their intonation. Modern playing technics can require low action. Thicker down tuned strings also require more room... so its according to the customers wishes.

I love mine but my cheap squiers are setup better. Also the tone knob came off, the nut fell off, some dead spots on the fretboard, very sharp fret ends, i ended up bleeding and the worst thing, it was not wired correct. Could not use the bridge alone. And zero support from Hagstrom...

Oh man this sounds dissapointing... it's a shame for Hagstroem because the concept is actually really great.

I had a Hagstrom Swede sunburst in the late 70s and it was a great guitar, which I, unfortunately and sadly, sold on. I decided a year ago to buy a goldtop Hagstrom Swede. I didn't realise (my fault) that the tailpiece had changed and it had this metal lump as a tailpiece and the two toggle switches had been incorrectly soldered and operated at strange angles. Sadly it's been sitting in the studio now for about a year and only used about six or seven times.

Something I've noticed about some new hagstrom's I've seen it shops. They're shipped out of the factory with horrible setups, which is a shame since they're fantastic guitars and gorgeous looking.

Indeed a shame!! Cause they do have real good and reliable guitars for reasonable price.

It is after all a chinese made guitar! Mine came in pretty good condition! I ordered from a shop in my town though, so they might have set it up a bit and played around with it before I got to it. It had a little scratch on the binding on the bottom and the binding isn't perfect but I've honestly even seen that on USA guitars. Only issue I had was after about a month the coil split stopped working on the neck pup, so I had the shop resolder it.. Sadly they scraped tf out of the back and put the knobs back on all misplaced.. But it works. (now I am afraid to bring my guitars to local luthiers.. But also afraid to work on them myself lol) Also not a metal shred guy. I do love some doom and stoner rock though, and never listened to Ghost till I bought this guitar, just love the Gibson RD look for a good price!
