Marques, I'm a huge fan but I didn't feel like this video was up to par to your usual standard. Audio quality varied from scene to scene, I hated the screen capture that highlighted elements, and I felt like the shots/visual story could have been a lot stronger, in particular, transitioning from the parking garage to the various locations. Feel like this may have been a rushed project or outsourced to a different editor?
Casey Neinstat did a lot of the aerial shots but if you look at his twitter he said that this video was much harder and more work than he anticipated, and that he learned a lot from it.
Yeah I have the same feeling. Overall I love the new series. I know it is much harder to film outdoors in motion but sometimes taking more time to shoot and reshoot scenes will give you better quality. In example 1st shot with car entrance could be redone b/c there is this awkward moment when MKBHD disappears behind suicide door. Next shot with inside talk you can see someone just randomly walking behind car not to mention such a bad audio mix with random rev sounds. Looking forward to the next project! Keep it up @MKBHD

Honestly expected better from all the effort that was put into production of this video. The clip cutting and b-roll was just horrible at times. The video felt rushed.

This was the first video of his that I’ve watched, can’t say I’m stoked to watch any more, but he’s got tons of subs so there’s got to be something good in there.
The thing that bothered me was the lack of music. I feel like the cuts to music is a big part of making it seem more professional. The hum of the car in the background for the first half was kind of a weird choice too. I did enjoy the video though. I was just surprised others noticed these things too.
I know I'm gonna get bashed for saying this, but the car B roll in this video was one of Marques's weakest I've seen, it didnt look good at all, and the sound editing did not help, it was like the audio wasn't coming from the car at that same time. The content was kind of lame, just briefly showing Car Play and that's pretty much it. This wasn't a good video, it was not up to MKBHD's standards. I Still love Marques, still love the channel just have to admit when something is not good
I agree, it felt like the B-roll was shot on an iphone and wasnt even edited. Looks gray and is shaky, and not even any music in the background. Hopefully he will learn from this video and create better content in the future tho.

As a car guy and a tech head, thank you for being open with your learning experience shooting this video. You help illustrate how diverse videography can be, and just because someone can shoot great tech videos doesn't mean they can nail a car video without practice and experience. MKBHD veterans might be quick to point out choppy edits, awkward b-roll, un-synced audio, but it's worth remembering that we all learn by doing, and I'm happy to see the results of what you learned. Just in my opinion the driving footage would be much more enjoyable if the audio truly lined up with the visuals. Maybe attach a microphone near the exhaust and then just always line up that audio with the driving we are seeing.
Not one of the best videos. The sound is "off queue" nearly all the time. There are some repetitive shots and the overall quality of the b-roll shots is lesser the usual. It's still higher than most other channels, however for MKBHD levels, this doesn't really do.
Gotta say not that great a video .... it felt .... off... you could tell that its wasnt a smooth project it felt like you guys werent in your comfort zone. Plus those rev sounds were straight up bad.. you could tell that you guys straight recorded the lambo revving in stationary on neutral and added that in and it sounded horrible .... audio editing overall during the actual segment (excluding some of the commentary or the intro) was pretty abysmal overall tbh. P.S Not hating i know they mustve had their limitations and they'll surely improve upon their shortcomings from this one. If i had to put it in a word this video didnt feel as "crispy" as the usual MKBHD vid.
I definitely felt the limitations in the video. The CarPlay and inside shots look good but it’s missing the drama and fluidity that getting and filming a car like this should have contained. Where’s the crazy music with a gap for an engine rev, where’s the happy faces whilst driving it. Where’s the publics reaction.
I love MKBHD's videos, but he ain't Jeremy Clarkson I'll say that much. I can just imagine The Grand Tour crew watching this and wincing at a lot of the language used to describe the car
Was anyone really impressed that Marques was in bright sunlight and the sky behind him actually wasn't that over exposed? That dynamic range of the RED. 👍
Not your greatest work man! The sound design was poor. I saw Casey's behind the scenes video when you were recording the revving audio but I thought it would match batter. It was completely mistimed and out of place. The aerial shots were average at best (I know it was Casey and that makes it even worse). The content was good and the review of the CarPlay was good, but not the presentation. This is not to say it's not a good video to watch, but this is not a MKBHD video. Please take this as sincere constrictive criticism.

As someone who knows a person that owns a Lamborghini Aventador S, none of this was fake. It may have been prerecorded but if it was, it was pretty accurate (like they even got the speed right).
Hey Marques, just some constructive criticism. I know you probably won't see this, but this is definitely not one of the better quality videos you've put out, here's what I think went wrong: - Audio levels were all over the place. What happened? You're usually strict with maintaining the same levels in your videos but this one got to the point where it was distracting, constantly having to change the volume on my device depending on the scene. - Fake/mismatched car sounds? What's with that? I'm not sure if I'm in the minority of your subs but I watch a lot of car videos on TH-cam and the best parts are usually when I get to hear how a car sounds, it took less than a second for me to realise that the shots of the car and the sounds I heard, were not correct. - Fake visuals? Correct me if I'm wrong but it looked like some of the Apple Car play shots on the screen inside the car were overlayed in post? This is pretty easy to tell, it doesn't work in Movies/TV Shows and it doesn't work here. - Story? I can appreciate the attempt at trying to tell a story but using B-Roll footage to "move to another location" then just show the exact same shot of inside the car didn't really work. Lastly, there were a couple of shots you used multiple times, I've never seen you do this before and it's a pretty amateur thing to do.

I enjoy your style, your gadget reviews are awesome, BUT, in personal opinion - the overall delivery of this episode was kinda clunky, and production value ... well .. we (the audience) are kinda spoiled and expect the lambo to go with posh background (kinda did, minus the other cars), but the construction parts - could cut out. Changes in the locations - I get the idea and it is great - but in the edit, the rhythm didn't really work. I love the idea of tech and car series! Check out the British 'Top Gear' series - just to measure the pulse and manage expectations. Until the end I was surprised that there was no test of the Android system, now I know why. Keep it up!!
Slavi bro, I have watched Topgear UK and US and I know there are about 20-30 (or even more) people who work for the camera and videography setup and lot of other things. But here are just two bros trying to shoot out a Lambo drive using a drone and normal cameras. I think I would appreciate MKBHD on this as he is a tech guy reviewing much of tech devices and not solely on cars. Anyway, this is just a start. Sooner it might improve :)

With all the respect n appreciation I have developed for this channel over the years(sss) of following, I would rather prefer you as a part of an audience if you please stray away from auto reviews or at least the hypercars segment! You did not do any justice to the vehicular monster and it kind of felt like mocking people who will spend all their life dreaming about getting to drive a car of this calibre but will most probably never get to do so! peace!

MKBHD you make such awesome tech videos but this is just not good man, im sorry. The driving scenes were awkward and felt forced, terrible audio. Marques I value very much your content and your impact on overall quality of the video on the platform. But this is one is a miss hit. The sound editing is pretty bad and engine revs sound doesnt really match the actual speed and car movement on screen. I don't know, feels rushed to me on that dept. But visuals as always top-notch.
When you said it makes you feel like a fighter pilot, it reminded me of Vector Aeromotive's early models. If you ever find one of those rare amazing cars and get to drive it, it would be great to see your reaction to the interior styling and features.
I know a lot of guys like fast cars because of the engine's capacity well, my love for fast cars is really because they are that, "fast"...but I must say, I'm not a fan of the sound they make...I actually prefer a more quiet car ride.

Yea, i get that it looks nice on the outside, but on the inside it is so bad design and even worse - poor tech. Designed by old men for old men. I'd rather have a mess of a design on the outside, if the inside actually was beautiful, user friendly, and something that looked like 2018. Since this is a channel for people with tech as an interest, this is probably the last thing i want to see, unless you actually show me how they make the car, which is probably very interesting. And last, Apple Car Play review is missing isn't it? To me it looked very bad - why no conclusion?

Work on the production of these, they are kind of all over the place! Start with your mkbhd intro then introduce the vehicle with a cinematic sequence showcasing the entire vehicle, then switch to the shots of you inside to explain the interface and usability, then your personnel experience with the car! you have everything all there, it just needs some restructuring to make the viewer more interested! overall great start to a new series but remember this isn't an in studio video so the style of how its done should be unique!

I've never had issues with the built-in UI or the navigation system etc. in any car of the past 10 years. So while I've used it once in a rental last year, I don't really see the big advantage of having Apple Car Play. For all the rest t's just a learning curve and I find it always fun to go through, but that may just be a minority opinion because I like driving all kinds of different cars and never get too attached to a particular one.
Damn...that was the very first video of you I'm disappointed with. Not from the contents itself. But this video has no structure whatsoever and feels cut very very strangely. There is no real conclusion and everything feels like a gimmick without an actual purpose for the video. Very strange experience

Great Video (and car). Liked it a lot. One piece of constructive criticism. (Not trolling). When you take alternate audio for the engine sound, try to match it up with what the car is actually doing. Noticed that the car is driving a constant speed yet the sound is clearly an acceleration or Rev sound. I know your team is way better at video than I am just thought I'd mention it. Kind of threw me off in a couple of spots and took me out of the moment enjoying the awesome car. Also keep the crew out of the back window during dialog moments🤪. Sorry had to throw that last one in.
Thia video is so weird. First, the sound so very off.. like, it's incredible inconsistent, it's quite bad at the end, and the shots of car just seemed, very boring and useless. Like, are you reviewing the car? The apple car software? What was the focus here? Maybe I am alone here but this video just seemed really slapped together with no real goal and just a lot of filler. I don't get the premise of this video...CarPlay has been around for a while now, and most everyone has at least seen it. Many people already have it in their regular cars. So why review it and introduce it as if it's a fresh new feature we've never seen? Especially to your tech-savvy audience? Maybe because you own a Tesla you're not aware of CarPlay's prevalence? This just feels almost insulting, and the video definitely doesn't feel cohesive or make much sense to me. Sorry, I know you put a lot of work into it, but this was just a miss.
I am finding it hard to believe Casey has anything to do with the Arial shots because frankly there weren't that many and the ones which were lacked Casey's style to begin with, any way this was just the episode 2, I am very hope full that Marques will just keep getting crispier and crispier moving forward, cheers!

I'm kinda disappointed tbh, the shots taken could have been better, the areial shots (taken by Casey) seem kinda half-assed and done quickly, the purpose and the idea of the video are delivered, tho the video quality that we always are use to seeing was kinda lacking

Just in my opinion the driving footage would be much more enjoyable if the audio truly lined up with the visuals. Maybe attach a microphone near the exhaust and then just always line up that audio with the driving we are seeing.

Not one of the best videos. The sound is "off queue" nearly all the time. There are some repetitive shots and the overall quality of the b-roll shots is lesser the usual. It's still higher than most other channels, however for MKBHD levels, this doesn't really do.

Gotta say not that great a video .... it felt .... off... you could tell that its wasnt a smooth project it felt like you guys werent in your comfort zone.
Plus those rev sounds were straight up bad.. you could tell that you guys straight recorded the lambo revving in stationary on neutral and added that in and it sounded horrible .... audio editing overall during the actual segment (excluding some of the commentary or the intro) was pretty abysmal overall tbh.

I definitely felt the limitations in the video. The CarPlay and inside shots look good but it’s missing the drama and fluidity that getting and filming a car like this should have contained. Where’s the crazy music with a gap for an engine rev, where’s the happy faces whilst driving it. Where’s the publics reaction.

Not your greatest work man! The sound design was poor. I saw Casey's behind the scenes video when you were recording the revving audio but I thought it would match batter. It was completely mistimed and out of place.
The aerial shots were average at best (I know it was Casey and that makes it even worse).
The content was good and the review of the CarPlay was good, but not the presentation.
This is not to say it's not a good video to watch, but this is not a MKBHD video. Please take this as sincere constrictive criticism.
It's sub par to his MKBHD tech videos but, he'll surely get better at it. Sexy auto reviews shot in one day are possible!

As someone who knows a person that owns a Lamborghini Aventador S, none of this was fake. It may have been prerecorded but if it was, it was pretty accurate (like they even got the speed right).

Hey Marques, just some constructive criticism.
I know you probably won't see this, but this is definitely not one of the better quality videos you've put out, here's what I think went wrong:
- Audio levels were all over the place. What happened? You're usually strict with maintaining the same levels in your videos but this one got to the point where it was distracting, constantly having to change the volume on my device depending on the scene.
- Fake/mismatched car sounds? What's with that? I'm not sure if I'm in the minority of your subs but I watch a lot of car videos on TH-cam and the best parts are usually when I get to hear how a car sounds, it took less than a second for me to realise that the shots of the car and the sounds I heard, were not correct.
- Fake visuals? Correct me if I'm wrong but it looked like some of the Apple Car play shots on the screen inside the car were overlayed in post? This is pretty easy to tell, it doesn't work in Movies/TV Shows and it doesn't work here.
- Story? I can appreciate the attempt at trying to tell a story but using B-Roll footage to "move to another location" then just show the exact same shot of inside the car didn't really work.
Lastly, there were a couple of shots you used multiple times, I've never seen you do this before and it's a pretty amateur thing to do.

I enjoy your style, your gadget reviews are awesome, BUT, in personal opinion - the overall delivery of this episode was kinda clunky, and production value ... well .. we (the audience) are kinda spoiled and expect the lambo to go with posh background (kinda did, minus the other cars), but the construction parts - could cut out. Changes in the locations - I get the idea and it is great - but in the edit, the rhythm didn't really work.
I love the idea of tech and car series! Check out the British 'Top Gear' series - just to measure the pulse and manage expectations.
Until the end I was surprised that there was no test of the Android system, now I know why.

Slavi bro, I have watched Topgear UK and US and I know there are about 20-30 (or even more) people who work for the camera and videography setup and lot of other things.
But here are just two bros trying to shoot out a Lambo drive using a drone and normal cameras. I think I would appreciate MKBHD on this as he is a tech guy reviewing much of tech devices and not solely on cars.
Anyway, this is just a start. Sooner it might improve :)

With all the respect n appreciation I have developed for this channel over the years(sss) of following, I would rather prefer you as a part of an audience if you please stray away from auto reviews or at least the hypercars segment! You did not do any justice to the vehicular monster and it kind of felt like mocking people who will spend all their life dreaming about getting to drive a car of this calibre but will most probably never get to do so!

Work on the production of these, they are kind of all over the place! Start with your mkbhd intro then introduce the vehicle with a cinematic sequence showcasing the entire vehicle, then switch to the shots of you inside to explain the interface and usability, then your personnel experience with the car! you have everything all there, it just needs some restructuring to make the viewer more interested! overall great start to a new series but remember this isn't an in studio video so the style of how its done should be unique!

I've never had issues with the built-in UI or the navigation system etc. in any car of the past 10 years. So while I've used it once in a rental last year, I don't really see the big advantage of having Apple Car Play. For all the rest t's just a learning curve and I find it always fun to go through, but that may just be a minority opinion because I like driving all kinds of different cars and never get too attached to a particular one.

Great Video (and car). Liked it a lot. One piece of constructive criticism. (Not trolling). When you take alternate audio for the engine sound, try to match it up with what the car is actually doing. Noticed that the car is driving a constant speed yet the sound is clearly an acceleration or Rev sound. I know your team is way better at video than I am just thought I'd mention it. Kind of threw me off in a couple of spots and took me out of the moment enjoying the awesome car. Also keep the crew out of the back window during dialog moments🤪. Sorry had to throw that last one in.

Thia video is so weird. First, the sound so very off.. like, it's incredible inconsistent, it's quite bad at the end, and the shots of car just seemed, very boring and useless. Like, are you reviewing the car? The apple car software? What was the focus here? Maybe I am alone here but this video just seemed really slapped together with no real goal and just a lot of filler. Honestly, it seemed like a lame click bait, like "Look at this car everyone says looks cool and is expensive so people want to see a video with it!" I do not think there was much thought put into this.

I don't get the premise of this video...CarPlay has been around for a while now, and most everyone has at least seen it. Many people already have it in their regular cars. So why review it and introduce it as if it's a fresh new feature we've never seen? Especially to your tech-savvy audience?

The B-roll had me cringing. Also shots of you driving are way too fake sounding and too wimpy. You're reviewing a lambo ffs, step on the gas a bit. Also the whole storytelling part of the video was not good. Apple carplay should've been a minor part of the video. It's really not that interesting of a thing.
