Liqui moly engine flush, then flushing new oil (can be cheap) , then filling premium oil and adding liqui moly addictive. Butter

I've got a similar problem. My engine too has a ticking sound, not so high pitched, and less frecuent. It only appears after the engine is at normal working temperature, maybe after i pushed it a little bit, too, and it only sounds at idle (maybe i cant distinguish it when reving because of how subtle it is)
Engine is a m52b25 with 98.000 *km* very low mileage.
I've checked for loose sparkplugs, both accesory and AC belt are new. The car didn't move for a whole year but i flushed it with liqui moly engine oil flush. I only use 5w40 castrol synthetic on it, allthough i'm the 3rd owner.
Any ideas what it could be?

Forgot to say, i change oil between 7.500km and 9.000km. When i got the car the engine was running so smooth, at idle it was hard to notice that it was actually running

@@asdasd-mw4qf nope, actually my clutch bearing sounds now so i don't hear the ticking anymore lol. But anyway i don't care about weird noises the car makes now, as long as it runs i'm ok with that

Just years of working on these vehicles and trial and error. I couldn't afford to pay a mechanic for repairs when I got my first car and it became a hobby.

Hello, how would you diagnose a ticking noise, after already checking/changing lifters/coils/spark plugs/chain tensioners/exhaust leaks/injectors ? mine have been ticking for 7y, it seems to come from the top, even though I can find out for sure even with stethoscope, but seems to amplify at the exhaust. This is a video of it without the belts th-cam.com/video/MyfS0qIdP18/w-d-xo.html also last time i checked compression values they were all right.

Over 4 decades, BMW still can't correct this overpriced repairs on M30 engines. Camshaft worns & needed to be replaced
Just like they can't come up with a new badge without falling off after 9 years. Just buy a Honda, Hyundai or a Toyota and you won't have worn camshaft.
For a face, you get better re-sales on Asian and German vehicles.
