I really hope you enjoy this one! By the way, if you're interested in finding out a bit more about those 3D-printed, hand-assembled Resin Head Jigs that my son Tom makes, find out more at www.starlotackle.com and by following his @starlotackle Instagram account. They're a good thing! Tight Lines!
Thanks steve great insight into the world of plastics. When you stand at the Wall of ten thousand varieties of lures at the tackle shop it can be a bit overwhelming. Why can't it just be like the old days where you only had six to choose from. Thanks for the insight mate, cheers.
Purchased my Ghost and Green Ginger last week. Purchased from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Looking forward to fishing JB around Christmas. Green Ginger looked great
This is fantastic content. As someone who is relatively new to fishing in general and fishing with soft plastics specifically, hearing the history and progression of the method brings a wealth of useful knowledge that will help me catch more fish.
Thanks for all your work over the past 20 years Starlo! Love the Squidgies and I miss the Squidgy fine wire jigheads. Luckily I've found some clones on ebay that I'll be testing.
Very instructive and informative Steve and really well produced. It’s great to have some understanding of the history of the development of soft plastics and their applications. As always I pick up a few tips to use when next on the water. Looking forward to the next instalment.
I caught my first bass in kyogle river nsw far north coast on curly tail grub I never went back to using shrimp i was 11 year old now bass is my favourite iconic australian fish to catch thanks for the videos starlo
@@StarloGetsReel I’m looking forward to using em! I cherish the few old squidgie res heads I still have and they are only used for special occasions! Usually when I’ve spotted a fish that is worth it but otherwise I don’t blind cast them for fear of a tailor or flatty, it’ll be different now they are available,in the shallow waters I mostly fish they will be first choice!
@@StarloGetsReel I’d never used the resins for flathead having only used them for bream and trevally, but I think on the flats with a tendency to suspend a bit longer might give an edge tempting lazier flathead. Edit- they are no joke, now my favourite heads by far! They are just excellent! I’m eating well tonight! Thanks!
Enjoyed that Starlo as I don’t know much about soft plastics. I have a few prawn ones that have a wire trace attached I might give one of those a go during the week off the beach as Barra are feeding on small prawns at the moment. Might try one on a float one day too.😊
I'm so glad you have dun this one I have played round with this for years with little to brag about so I'm going give it one more go I can see from this vid some things I have dun wrong so thankyou and keep them coming. 👍
Ps best stuff for glass rattles in jig heads on any hook is the liquid steel in putty form brilliant to get a glass finish smear a bit of cooking oil on it when it sets or add a scent pouch or build into it I never put it on plastic can add dye as well .
Sometimes it really doss my head in thinking of style of plastic to use or jighead.i just do the ol faithful and pick a plastic and work from the lightest to the best heaviest jighead in the end.
Nice video Starlo. I've learned a lot. How about making videos about night fishing. Most days I only have 7pm- 11pm or 4am to 9am fishing time. Would like to hear tips from you
Hey Starlo. I used to fish one of you and bushys soft plastics. .. I think it was called a critter! Green was awesome on local easturies and rivers where shrimp were active on weed edges. Do they still. Make that one! Tim
How do the soft plastic lures stand up to the bite? Most on the market are PVC plastics. If bits are bitten by fish... We are reintroducing plastics into our oceans and into the bellies of fish.
@@StarloGetsReel Know what manufacturers do "biodegradable" That I can research and make an informed choice? My pay experience was with my dad who used lures, teasers/flies with bait and flies for fresh water. I live in the Anderson inlet so I feel like I am starting all over to find the right lures or fresh bait.

Nice!
The best prawn and yabbie imitation lures I ever used were by savage gear. Sadly BCF have discontinued stocking them. Dynamite lures.
Sound good!
love this series, hope you going to do like a rod and reel setup for soft plastics
Good idea.
@Shimano - Please bring back the Starlo Stix Tournament PRO rods or at least an anniversary edition!
Great vid Starlo - like all of them.
Thanks for that!

I'll see what I can do, but I'm not a huge fan of night fishing!

Great little lure! Sadly no longer made. 😕
That's a pity.. they were awesome on some trout also! Is there anything similar that you could recommend starlo?
ABT bream weigh-ins in the early 2000's looked like a Mardi gras, because everyone's faces and hands were covered in powerbait glitter
So true!
I still use Charlie brewers sliders and discovered my mister twister twin talis the other day
Good stuff!

Yep, it's definitely an issue and something more and more manufacturers are addressing by moving to "biodegradable" materials.

Do you reckon the shimano zodias 270L 3-6 pound is a good all rounder for bream, flathead pinkies ect?
Yep. It's a ripper!
Enjoy.
Cheers.
Whats the fish at 4:37?
A diamond trevally.
@@StarloGetsReel makes sense 😆 I'll be adding that one to my fish bucket list for sure!!
Ps best lock for plastic is BAIT JUNKIE JIG HEADS MASTERS OF THE Z MAN MATERIAL.
