I’m just waiting for mine to be delivered! I bought it on the morning of the 29th of November and lucky enough to have all three GFP items on their way to me, including Shackleton’s lifeboat! I can’t wait!
I really hope you enjoy it! For me, the build wasn’t the most enjoyable at the beginning, and towards the end, assembling all the ladders became quite repetitive. Overall, I thought the build was really well done. It took me longer than usual, but that might be because I was filming at the same time. It took around 7-8 hours, and once assembled, I couldn't take my eyes off it. I hope you have a similar experience. thank you for the comment and happy building!
At least the dog huts are there, from the whole expedition there were 100 dogs. From the other ship named Aurora did have casualties from men and dogs but 4 of the dogs did survive and were donated to a zoo to live their retirement.
Just look at it! It is probably the greatest Lego ship ever. Its so big that including a few figures would hardly be out of order. The scale might be wrong but when has that ever stopped Lego in the past? I decided to order a few nautical theme figs so I at least have the option of putting a few figures on it, if they look wrong they can be removed. I have seen Endurance next to Imperial Flagship which is considerably smaller but looks great with the figures, so I cannot see adding figs being an issue.
The boat looks especially good-probably one of the best-looking LEGO sets. As for the minifigures, I'm really happy I was able to get the GWP, which I plan to build tomorrow. I'm excited to see how they'll look next to each other.
1x4x3 inverted slope? I had to check that one, never heard of a 1x4x3 inverted slope before, I thought "he surely has that wrong, 1x4x3? that cannot be right" But no, it is actually a piece, in a variety of colours...only I have never once seen one, now I am wondering what sets it is used in.
@lukasthebuilder thank you! Will definitely do it, I have 140eur saved up on insiders I need to use, I'm just gonna wait for a 2x weekend probably, still need to build my Eiffel tower and Ominous Isle first anyway :) So far my favorite 2024 set is the DnD one, I'm curious if this beats it for me
Long fascinated by and well-read on the story of Shackleton, his men, and their ship, I ordered the Endurance -- and applied $120 worth of points. I checked and the GWP of Shackleton's Lifeboat was in my basket (along with two other GWP I didn't particularly want). As soon as I checked out and while double-checking my order I noticed Shackleton's Lifeboat was gone -- not in my order. I checked and it was no longer available. I cancelled my order out of frustration. My Insiders points have not been restored -- $120 worth. I ordered at 3am -- 3 hours into the sale of the Endurance (working late as ER psych officer I couldn't get to order earlier -- but thought 3am would be early enough). I'm tired of how Lego uses GWP -- they should guarantee availability at least for 24 hours. I'm very upset.
If they cannot manage to make enough gwp to last at least the week then something is very wrong. They are artificially creating scarcity for no reason, and I cannot work out why, its not like they are in the reselling business. Why not put the gwp on back order if they ran out, then send it once they made them. I can understand not wanting to be stuck with a lot of unsold gwp if the set sells poorly, but they are making so few that its now just annoying.
@@neilrusling-je6zoAbsolutely. It's odd because Lego actually seems to manipulate and disappoint its most loyal customers who get online to shop within a few hours of items going live (more casual buyers, maybe getting gifts from family, would just wait and not care about GWP).
I'm really sorry to hear about your experience. I went to the store first thing in the morning because I knew the GWP would sell out quickly online. I just wish there was something I could do to help you.
Logged in at midnight to the UK store and had to wait 5 mins in a queue but I then managed to order it and get the GWP lifeboat as well as the two other GWPs. As it was Black Friday I managed to get the 75% reduction in VIP points for £5 vouchers (x3) which along with some more VIP points this reduced the cost for me a bit. Glad I did as the Endurance itself is now on back order and the GWPs ran out. Not sure I would have bought it on day one without the discount and GWP lifeboat as normally I wait for Lego to go on sale.
Well-done video. I'm a new sub here. I appreciate that you're not getting free sets. You should put that right up front like Jang does. I was reloading for 20 minutes after midnight and did obtain the lifeboat. If I had not, I doubt I would have bought it. I would have eventually, but only on sale or maybe with double VIP points. I agree that no minifigs is a missed opportunity.
I stayed up for midnight on Black Friday and actually had a chance to purchase this with the GWP shack boat. But somehow I was hoping back and forth about the decision. By morning the GWP was out which made my decision easy. I really think Lego missed out by making the GWP so limited. I think once the GWP was out, it made it very hard for people to purchase this ship because it felt like an incomplete set by that point. As usual, a great video and review. Keep up the good work.

The only thing missing is over 70 lego dogs Shackleton and his crew had to shoot and eat in order to survive.
At least the dog huts are there, from the whole expedition there were 100 dogs. From the other ship named Aurora did have casualties from men and dogs but 4 of the dogs did survive and were donated to a zoo to live their retirement.
You're right, but this story doesn't really fit well with LEGO fantasy, does it?
Just look at it! It is probably the greatest Lego ship ever.

It should have been done in minifigure scale like the Imperial Flagship.
Can you start doing Lego-based bedtime stories?? For real!
Maybe one day :)

Sometimes when I build these sets, I'm surprised by the types of pieces that are included. There's always at least one new piece for me in every set.
Will def be getting this in the future
In my opinion, this is one of the best LEGO sets released this year. So don’t hesitate to pick up a copy!

You got a great deal there. Honestly, I think the boat is reasonably priced. It looks stunning, so I believe it will sell really well.
Well-done video.

Thank you! To be fair, the boat looks amazing on its own too.

Thank you, and I’m really sorry you weren’t able to get the GWP.
