Glad you folks enjoyed visiting American Samoa my homeland..appreciate your comments and your experiences there..another great way of publicity and advertising to the world how beautiful American Samoa is..thank you for that..journey on and safe travels...GOD BLESS..
I just went to Hawaii and that was my first island experience in the United States and I feel like I want to visit American Samoa, US, Virgin Islands, etc. etc. I don’t know I think it would be very cool!
I have lived in American Samoa for 30 years. Originally from the states... I actually think I remember seeing you.... Anyway.. your analysis I think was spot on and noteworthy. Thanks for posting this ..
Thank you Steve and Chris, I’m a local, glad you enjoyed your short visit here and kudos for trying to pronounce the g in Pago Pago , it’s more of a glottal sound 😅😅
We also stopped to visit with the Rangers, and one of them recommended the Mt. 'Alava Hiking Trail. Since our phones didn't work either we just walked up, which was quite the hike in itself from the Ranger office, but that's how we roll. Like you mention, the views were sparse from the trail, even though we were quite high overlooking everything, the trees were thick and we only got glimpses of the water below. We walked for a couple of hours before turning around. Bring plenty of water! But we loved our stop there. Did you see any of the fruit bats? There was a huge colony just to left of the cruise port that we watched for a while.
Totally get it. We didn't see the fruit bats there, but here in Brisbane, they're out every night. We love it! Btw, we call you guys out in our Wacky Oz video!
I'd love to go to the Pacific after reading more into all of the islands, US, European or independent. I just wish it wasn't so expensive to get there! I joke that the Pacific is for honeymooners and retirees while the Caribbean, Gulf and Atlantic are for everyone else! xD
The United Nations since it's founding has supported "Decolonization for 750 million people and 80 former colonies worldwide" and American Samoa has stated on many occasion it's stances on it's status, that they themselves have a special relationship with the USA and it's Navy, and are not in need or require the political assistance..having an older and deeper alliance with the states. Play with the word Territory as much as you like... it doesnt change the facts that Samoa is free and well preserved while you in your nation still have battles to sort out.

Yes. They're hard to get to on a budget. That's another reason we love repositioning cruises
Beautiful Samoa
Thank you
Did you buy your sarong in Pago Pago? We are doing the same cruise next year.
I didn't, it came from Brazil. But there were many for sale in Pago Pago. Have fun.
We are going in a couple of days time and we were told two dollar beach is closed. No reason why.
Oh that's unfortunate. Maybe it's just temporary.

New subscriber from Australia. Did you have the pleasure of driving past the fish factory? The smell was quite unique. 😂
Yes I did. We found it fascinating and asked our cabbie tons of questions
