I heard A6400 photo quality is similar to A7S, the only difference is more options like ISO etc.. is that true?
My a6300 has NFC. There is also an NFC logo on the side. It transfers files via the WiFi protocol because it's higher bandwidth than Bluetooth version of that time.
Absolutely worth it. Got hold of this puppy about a year ago and I use it moe than my fuj xt3. Super camera. Now using the Sigma 56mm on it and loving it!

Thanks! Really depends on the place you are at, you can sometimes get some good deals, but if you don’t mind not having viewfinder, the Sony ZV-E10 is an excellent choice. A6400 is also an amazing camera. Search for secondhand though to save a dollar

What to check when buying used?
Excellent comparative analysis of the Sony a6300 and other Sony APSC cameras. I have owned my Sony A6300 along with the Sigma trident of prime lenses since December 2017. When I eventually upgrade I will be keeping my A6300 and either purchasing the A6400 or the A6600 as I am fully ensconced in the Sony APSC camera range with numerous lenses and a gimbal geared around APSC camera size.
Thats so great to hear Jason. I got the a6400 and I am really happy with it. The only downside is lack of IBIS and 8-bit color. Keep on creating!

Would you recommend this camera for someone who is only looking to film videos indoors mounted on a tripod? Am only going to record myself for a few minutes for some videos as I will mostly be doing voiceovers and am wondering what camera would be good for that.
It will do the job as it shoots 4K. The only thing you need to keep in mind is that you will definitely need a light. Check someone of my videos to find a good solution, I have reviewed few budget options. Smallrig light is my fav so far

I’m currently filming with an A7S 1 with the FE 50MM f1.8 lens and 28-70 kit lens, my issue is the autofocus on the camera is absolutely brutal and I often miss important shots. The lack of 4K also stinks. I’m going to keep it for it’s low light capabilities as those are wonderful. Should I get a new lens for the A7S or get this A6300 body instead and just use my existing lenses?
Usually I would say it’s the lenses that will give you the most improvement especially in AF but I think the A7S is bit too old so even if you throw a nice lens it might not perform (although I don’t know this for sure as I haven’t tested it myself. Switching to APS-C camera is not a bad thing if low light is not the most concern for you. Lenses are a lot cheaper too. But it’s true that you probably need to upgrade both the camera and lens. Not sure if a6300 (being so old) is the right upgrade tho.

These are all 8-bit color cameras, which means color grading is a real challenge, especially if you try to shoot in Slog. Thats one of the big reasons why upgrading to some newer Full Frame cameras make sense, but for the price, I guess it is fine to have this challenge.

how do you get the picture profiles to work for the video? or is it only for raw photos
A6300 allows you to select picture profiles for video in the menu. Just remember that it is 8-bit camera, so, although Slog2 can be chosen, it will not work the best.

Hey Aleasha, if you are a beginner, it still will be sufficient despite its age. If you wanna shoot videos, it has great 4K capabilities and picture profiles and for photos, the 24 megapixel sensor still does a great job. You might have a trouble in challenging environments like poorly lit rooms, handheld night photography etc, but instead of upgrading the camera, I would suggest you to invest in lenses. Thats whats gonna make the biggest difference. Good luck!

Excellent video my friend! I am a freelance photographer...well hobbyist per say. I love taking photos of fast racecars and I am upgrading from an a5100. Would you say that this camera body is a significant upgrade to what I am already using? It seems to me like I could also benefit from the a6000 BUT the only downside is that my camera dealer only has the a6300 and it's used but excellent condition. So in my case is it worth pulling the trigger on it?
Hey buddy, sorry for late reply. Photo-wise you won't see much difference between the 2. Main benefit with A6300 is all its video capabilities + better build quality. If you get a good price for it - go for it! Maybe you will start liking the video side of it too and you will be happy to have a6300!

Great video, I'm a photographer, this is a deal breaker for me. It's only £400 2nd hand in the UK. I've used the Sony 6100, I blown away with video. Might consider A7C , moving away from canon

@@TomsJurjaks the concern is I pay 1200 to 1700 on a an A7C, and they release a mark ii with better focus and updated menu system.
@@ZaksTurf Tbf the A7C already has incredible AF, even if they do improve it with a Mark ii I can't see how they could make it that much better than it already is. I recently moved away from Panasonic where the AF was non-existent and was blown away by how good it is with the A7C.
Hi, what picture profile are you using on youre a6300?
I use Slog only for 10bit cameras (like Sony A7IV), but Slog does not work well with 8bit cameras like a6300 so I use Cine instead. For a6400 I take advantage of HLG.

Hey there. Well it really depends from person to person. I can share my personal view. I think DSLRs are dying and you should stay away from them, also if in few years you will want to sell your old camera, it will be a lot harder to do so. Also true about the size. When camera is too big and heavy, you will find reasons NOT to take it. So its better to go with mirrorless.

I just got this camera after 10 years of using Canon and I'm extremely pleased and definitely switching to Sony. Any advice on good and affordable wide-angle lenses available for it?
If you're on a budget, check Samyang ultrawide lenses. Otherwise Sigma and Sony have beautiful but heavy and expensive lenses, too.
I was thinking to get used A7ii body with good shutter count, but the price offered on used A7ii look a bit expensive cause i can get good condition of used A6300+Viltrox 85mm lens.
Im still in dilemma whether i should get A6300 or A7ii cause i never used sony mirrorless. Current Camera is Nikon D7000.
If you are not a professional - there is absolutely no reason you should spend the extra money for a Full Frame camera and Full Frame lenses - they are just so much more expensive. Better get an a6300 or ZV-E10 and make use of all the affordable e-mount lenses

It’s not little, means the camera has been used quite a lot but that should also mean you should be getting a lower price.

I have a6300 with sigma 30mm; want to buy zoom lens confused between sigma 18-50mm or tamrom 17-70. I dont use video much, I ll use 90% of photos
Sigma is gonna be much smaller, lighter and also cheaper and most likely sharper. Tamron has a bit better reach. Check the video on my channel about the Sigma 18-50 as I talk about this point too

Hi Toms! I am an a6000 owner and I am really enjoying it, but I want to go on a newer one. I could sell my camera for 300 euros for sure and I found an a6300 for 400 but I don't know if there is a real difference between these two cameras. What do you think? Is it worth it to change to that one?
Hey Luca! Only if you intend to shoot videos. If not, then the features a6300 will not be too beneficial for you.

Overheating and battery life is a big problem for me especially if you record in 4k. Think I’ll be getting the S5 soon.
the overheating in 4k is the biggest problem. 5-10 min of shooting and the camera turns off.
Outside yes. Using a bottom grip/battery bank really helps. I have used this camera to shoot 4k inside and it great. I've even live streamed for hours and hours with this camera using a dummie battery
I think this camera is obsolete now, they still have the 6100 and 6400 around but the 6300 is very rare. Its basically the 6400 just with beta 4k video and overheats fast. If you don't need to shoot in 4k and steady shot, this Camera is still the best in quality for its price. Its slow motion at 120p 100M is the same as the A6600.
Actually really depends on the country if you can get it still used or not, but you are right, now going through ads, I see less and less for sale. Never had overheating issues tho even shooting 4K for 10-20min, but yeah, there are lots of good alternatives out there.

Definitely Joon! Thats why you got it for those nice and sharp 4K videos. No reason to shoot in 1080p or higher framerate.

For video yeah 100%. But if you intend to just use it for photos then you wont see the difference tbh

I upload Every single week brother, but somehow my videos are not really being pushed to you guys, I really don't know why. Btw, look into getting the SmallRig cage - I got one for my a6400 and its amazing because I bought one with the grip extender. So worth it 👌
All you need to do is to buy either an L bracket or camera cage that includes a grip and you're done 👋👋😎 i have my a6300 with an L bracket and a silicone Handgrip from SmallRig check it out

what lenses did you use on the stills?
Sony 85mm f1.8 FE in the city/street shots and shots of the camera. The car photos was taken with Sigma 16mm f1.4

I mean you sure can shoot photos with it but it’s video oriented camera. If you don’t intend to shoot videos at all then it makes more sense getting a6000 or a6100

The only real downfall with the eight 6300 and the eight 6500 is the eight bit color. If it was 10 bit it would be great if you could even record it sternly 10 but it would be a great camera but being that you can only get eight bit color, whether you record internally or externally is a hard pass eight bit colour just doesn’t cut it for any serious video work and any professional content

Somewhat, considering it is full frame. If you compare with other (newer) and more powerful cameras, their price will be 2x or 3x more

Not sure how a bad color correction can point toward sponsored video, but you have a point Dewitt, I think I throw two adjustment layers on the first clip, but rest was normal (or some rendering glitch).
