      Buy an a6000 a year ago. I was thinking change it to get 4k, slow motion... I mostly shoot musics videos. After doing a music video, I decide to keep it. Today am surprised by what I can do with this little old camera. I want to upgrade, cause of slow motion and better low light performance.

    I’ve just purchased one secondhand for a very reasonable price on eBay and I’m waiting for it to be delivered. Tbh, I didn’t expect to be the winning bidder and I’m not yet invested in the Sony eco system. I may have a play and sell it on, or I may convert to Sony. Currently I use Olympus em1 ii and em10iii and have my fair share of mft lenses. The weather sealed and range finder style of the a6300 is appealing though and that’s why I got it. The lack of ibis may pull me back to Olympus. One other thing I think will irritate me is lack of dual dials on the top plate, but I’ll play with an open mind and see how I feel. At least one camera will be sold after I’ve had a play with it.

    I'd still recommend an a6300 to people in 2020 for sure. I mean I shoot on an a6000 that I baught for $200 US and I've pulled off some amazing street photography work with it. I'm most likely going to upgrade to the a6600 in May though so I can have weather sealing, in body stabilization, and then also get the 16-55 f2.8 but that's big money that I'd never recommend the casual or enthusiast photographer to buy personally. I'm just ready to step into the world of more professional work so I'm springing for a bit better body and glass to go along with that. But as for the topic of the video really the a6100, a6300, and even the a6400 are all wonderful options for the beginner or enthusiast photographer and I would definitely recommend any of them.

      @@strikko4531 I've had a similar dilemma recently. I was trying to decide if I wanted to go a6600 to stick with all the apsc glass I all ready have or sell all the glass and go with the a7iii for the much better low light preformance since I am a street photographer and am pushing the limits of these cameras often. Ultimately though the deciding factor for me personally is the a6600 is actually more weather sealed than the a7iii which why Sony doesn't weather seal their cameras more blows my mind but that's another story. So really since I shoot photography in a very rainy area I have to go with the a6600 to be able to shoot photography year round.

    beginners should either get a new a6100 or a second hand a6300 but if you're in a budget for a brand new a6300, might as well add a few bucks and get an a6400. a6100 a6400 both have flip up screens and unlimited 4k recording with improved heat management. a6400 also has picture profiles which are not available in a6100 so that is one thing to consider. really the only difference with the a6300 and a6400 is that again, a6400 has better battery life, unlimited recording (a6300 has a 30min limit), flip up screen and faster autofocus (arguably the best autofocus . ) and a new processor that manages heat a lot better

    The main reason I would buy a a6400 over an a6300 would be focus touchscreen for gimbal work. Have you tried it this way and is it any good?

    • @thaticelandicguy
      @thaticelandicguy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree, not put it on the gimbal yet tho - will over the weekend filming some gimbal stuff with the a6400!! :)

    Hello Arnúlfur. I uploaded some videos to TH-cam for fun before but only recently taking this seriously. Watched your video and convinced myself to get a Sony A6300 to replace my trusty 12 years old Canon EOS500D. Limitation is Canon 500D does not clean video output. The autofocus square dances all over when in use. It's Sept 2020 and is Sony 6300 still recommended? No over heating issues?

    Bra att veta!
    Det låter som en god ursäkt att leta upp en 6300 när jag tillåter mig själv att fixa ny utrustning!
    Som referens så använder jag en canon 7d som är från 2010 och som fortfarande ger mig riktigt bra bilder och även video så äldre prylar är inte en sak att vara rädd för!

    Does this camera 🎥 make the same clicking humming sound when focusing? Thank you!

      The sigma trio is amazing! Then I like the sony 10-18, sony 35m and the 18-105.
      Then getting some vintage lenses is super fun (and they are most often very cheap!)

    How have you recorded all your videos? I heard this camera over heats after 20min. Do you film for 20, stop filming then wait and then film later? That would be a pain to do if filming TH-cam videos.

      I mean it's not as bad as people think, with a little practise it's alright. But it's more shaky than this OSS lenses for sure.

    Hello, nice review! For streaming use, would you choose it over the older a5100 sand over the newer a6100? Because the a6300 can be found cheaper than the a6100 since it's older, but quality should be the same

    Bought the A6000 yearssss ago but having issues with 1 pin stuck down on the body. I use my camera to take photos of birds in my park and that's about it. I got the 210mm kit lens with it but feel like it's time for a refresh. Is it worth buying a better lens (if so which one) or just go for an upgrade body but keep the lens so A6300 or A6500?

    Great video, thanks. How do you get stable video? I read the A3000 and A4000 both don't have IS, but the A6600 does. Do you just always use it with a gimbal for video when you are moving around?

    • @thaticelandicguy
      @thaticelandicguy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, I own a gimbal but hardly ever use it. Lenses with OSS help, practicing steady shots, then a neat trick is to shoot in 30fps and slow it down to 80% on a 24fps timeline. And ofc 60-120 fps will be smooth
