Gary was the greatest guitarist that ever walked this earth. Nobody and I mean nobody could match him. Yes they could and can come close, but Gary was just a cut above the rest! R.I.P Maestro 😊😎🎸🇬🇧🇺🇦
Gorham's willingness to play as part of a team made Lizzy. Also a member of the "faster isn't better" class of guitarists. Him and Mick Ralphs are two of my favourite guitarists. Neithr of them feature in "best ever" lsist but that isn't always what it's about.
Think I remember Scott saying he audition for band n cheap guitar lol but got the job. I always liked him. I know I never had big bucks to buy the best top brand guitars but always made do w guitar I can afford.
An amazing solo from the man for sure. In some ways I regret that he ventured into the blues genre, as he never quite cut it as a blues great in my opinion. However a a rocker he was incredible, as this solo confirms. Gorham should not be under rated. The melody that underpins his lead guitar work is beautiful. There is nothing left to be said about Lynott. Incredible song writer, singer, musician and looked like he was put on the planet to be a rock god. Lets not forget Mark Nauseef on drums here, standing in for Downey. His playing is stellar.
I love Gary Moore,I've learnt so .much from him ,,i,m no stranger to still got the blues at many a big but the Brian Robertson versionl on Live and dangerous is the definitive for me,( even though it came from Gary's original ),structured,, and sassy with a killer tone,Gary was just noodling blues runs here , peace !.
I'm just stunned, I want this to go on forever. And especially the change up at 7:42 brings everything about this wonderful band back to life. Wonderful tuneful guitars, a fantastic crowd absolutely perfect. If only Phil and Scott could have stayed clean they maybe could have persuaded Gary to stay. This line up could have gone onto rule the world. How great they were, and how unsurpassed they could have been together. Where is the official release for this absolutely classic gem of a gig. One of the all great rock bands at their peak in front of Sydney Opera House. Thin Lizzy seem to have been rather forgotten over the years. I put them up there alongside the very best ever.
Absolutely fantastic - Sat with Gary in a hotel room whilst on tour to view this the First time, was so difficult then to show my Emotion, But its Easy now. OMG GM you were an Inspiration to Millions, A Musical Genius & You will be Missed Forever. Miss you my friend. Darren M. xxx
Who disliked this? Soulless gits. The passing of time has only made this even better and it was always good. I wonder who today will still be blowing our minds 35-40 years from now?
That lick was different from the Live and Dangerous version when Robbo rejoins after Scott's solo. An obvious Gary Moore inspired improvement. Moore was such a superior guitarist to Robbo by some distance. If only this combination could have stayed together.
I grew up listening to Phil lynott not for nothing he's one of my favorite bassist and singers and still in love with you is one of my favorite songs ...HALLELUYAH
Used to listen to this back in the eighties with my late wife and my lovely children, loved it then and still love it now. RIP Phil and Gary thanks for everything.
When the Irish Lizzy Experience played this at The Vibe For Philo last month in Dublin, it brought me to tears. Made me realise just how much I miss Phil. It was such an amazing performance and I'll always remember it. So glad that I got to see Thin Lizzy 3 times in Manchester England.
I saw them in 74 and 76 in Detroit. Robbo and Scott were a deadly combination. Gary Moore does a different style solo than Robbo's original. It's all good.
I still don't understand how this was not on the officially released video. For one this is one of the best performances of this song and this gig. Moore's solo and Sykes' Live 83 in Dublin solo were the best by far. Still love the Robbo version from Live and Dangerous though.
I will love Phil Lynott forever!Oh that voice so heartfelt!!!love him ,,,,,Gone to soon!He makes my heart melt!R.I.P ....you are so missed and loved forever!!! I'm Still In Love With You...............
For me, his solos on songs such as 'Fool's Gold' , 'Southbound' , 'Downtown Sundown' and many more amply illustrate that Scott played some of the tastiest guitar solos ever recorded ; I never tire of listening to them !
What an outstanding band Thin Lizzy were. Genius and legends: Phil and Gary... and alongside them people like Brian and Scott. U couldn't find a tighter crew or a better band ever - that's my opinion.
Actually, Gary shared vocals on the first recording; it is on the Peel Sessions from 1974. Gary wrote the song to Thin Lizzy. The lyrics were different, and the song was "Call On Me".
Edson Francisco Gary Moore was and is and will ALWAYS be one one the greatest guitar players of all time! he's beautiful! and he paired so well with Phil no doubt!!!
The best ballad song in the rock history !!! To this day this song makes me cry like a baby !! Since the very 1st time I heard this song in late 70's !! Such a gem 💎✨️💔💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💕💞
Why this marvellous song is not on the DVD !!!!! Gary is soooooooo awsome in each version when he played this diamond... It's the Gary's and Phil's song....FOR ALWAYS AND FOREVER EVER EVER EVER......RIP MY DEAR FRIENDS....THX FOR SHARING !!
i had the whole concert on VHS about 20 years ago ...and yet this song wasnt on it ! wish i still had it ...c'mon -get this into dvd ! Listin to gary moore ....his vibrato drips with emotion .
First of all... THANK YOU!!!! I've long heard the rumours that there were unreleased songs from this show.. The quality is pretty good compared to the songs that were officially released. Philip and Gary at their best. As usual Scott's rhythm playing throughout is great. 2nd.... who's the idiot who "disliked" this video??
I don't know a single soul who'd dismiss Gary Moore... unless they didn't know of him, unlikely as that is, I'd introduce them, & then they'd know better! meathead?
I do. When he was playing pointy guitars & doing quasi-metal stuff a lot of people wrote him off. He was always better than that, as this clip demonstrates.
This is one of my all-time favs, played like the Live and Dangerous version, but with the most incredible guitar solo by Gary Moore (achingly beautiful). RIP Phil Lynott and Gary Moore. This footage is precious. This concert needs to be released, amazing performances,
this is one 70s time warp i wouldn't mind getting stuck in forever....man, i still miss these two guys, still in love with u, phil & gary...forever....
I think 1000 of these views are mine !!! - This song always makes my heart skip a beat, thinking of her. - One of my favorite versions this Sydney. - God Bless Rock N Roll.
Some people have luck to die at their peak defying futility of many long fruitless years ahead and we can always remember them like that. Phil is one of them.❤
I stood where that stage was in 2003 on my holiday in Sydney. Totally in awe and thinking of this concert which I only knew from a video I bought back in the ninetees. Together with my then girlfriend for 8 years. Married two years later. Divorced another ten years later.... Definitely not still in love anymore... Great song still...
Such an amazing performance... One of my favourite tracks by Lizzy, Gary and Scott always remind me how much I still have to learn on the guitar, haha.
This is awesome. There was talk after Gary Moore passed that this was gonna be officially released on DVD. Whoever has this footage, please come forward. I can't even find a bootleg of this.
Gary said Scotts playing reminded him what it was to play with feel. That is what you call a compliment! And out of the two of them I would argue that Scott's style was more unique. He has a beautiful style which is like skimming stones across water.
Please, please, please release the entire show! This stuff is too good to collect dust somewhere and really needs to be seen and heard. Man, we were spoiled back then, weren't we? Still In Love With You is an evergreen, if ever there was one!

How did this not make the DVD > Seriously, the TL management need to get all this lost gold out, instead of dragging the corpse of the mighty Thin Lizzy around for a few bucks, THIS is what Lizzy fans want. More footage of TL with the great Phil. Thanks so much for the upload ! You are a Prince my friend.
OH MAN !!! this is AWESOME!!!! I always knew there was more footage from this show, as well as the Rainbow gig that produced the Live and Dangerous video. A million thanks!
This has to be there best version of this song ! Also has to be Moore's best one ever , his guitar playing throughout the whole piece is sublime ,pure genius . They were all so young and at a panicle in they're careers and to play Sydney Opera house just as the sun was going down !? Wow! . Bet there were some drugs done that night !!!
Lizzy should've been as big as Zeppelin. If not for some serious bad luck, they really might've been. Seeing this unreleased clip from the Sydney show is a vivid reminder of how great they were. R.I.P. Philo & Gazza; gone but never forgotten.
dont know how many times i have seen this... everybody who knows the song would also know that this is a moore song as much as it is a lynott song... so gary playing the first solo with a new opening is so typical "shocking" played by gary... and the outro twin solo with scott is typical thing that gary would do... JUST GOTTA LOVE IT
Gary was the greatest guitarist that ever walked this earth.
Nobody and I mean nobody could match him. Yes they could and can come close, but Gary was just a cut above the rest!

You are absolutely correct stevehanham9266.
Scott never gets the recognition he deserves he was the main stay through all the different line ups and rock solid.
Gorham's willingness to play as part of a team made Lizzy. Also a member of the "faster isn't better" class of guitarists. Him and Mick Ralphs are two of my favourite guitarists. Neithr of them feature in "best ever" lsist but that isn't always what it's about.

Right
True dat.
Mate he got the best job, staying in the back playing rhythm let everyone play their game and then blew m all off like iam the boss here.
GARY MOORE the finest guitarist ever! What an amazing composition by Moore and amazing lyrics by Lynott.
That solo by Moore was off the chart and simply incredible to say the least
And what about guitar solo by Mister Gary ? Absolutely amazing , chills on the body
@@dariuszjurewicz2059 Of course❤️ These two 💎💎
Gary was the best, his feel, speed, tone, style, he was just a master at work.
Best ever!
Well Holy Jesus .... What a guitar solo from Gary Moore .. Praise the Lord..
Strait from the Heart
Holy shit, Gary burnt that stage down!! Incredible!! My favorite version of this song!!
RIP Gary Moore and Phil Lynott🙏
My favorite version, Gary's solo makes me want to go back in time

Tis a brill solo to be sure ...Robbos solo on live and dangerous a bit special too
@@gw2031 yep I agree fully..I seen Lizzy in Kilkenny in 1980 ..Snowy White and Scott ... brilliant too
I only have three musical heroes, and two of them are on stage right there. God bless the both of you, Phil & Gary.

saw that tour here in Seattle and think Lizzy wiped the stage with Queen...JMO
myroseaccount ķkkķkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
Great comment and true they would have ruled the world
i went to this concert and it was the only band i'd seen that were better than ac/dc live with bon scott
Scott Gorham's iconic solo has understated soul and feel that few guitarists can even approach......shredders take note and off you €*$%!
Gary's great, (well more than great,) but Scott had a style all of his own, and it made the Lizzy sound.
Gary is amazing as he always was.....missing you Gary.
Easily one of the greatest guitar solos of all time.. Gary was the man
watch him play waltzing matilda at the end of the concert. it was the best solo ever that i have seen
love those fill ins Garry Does
How they're not cheering at the top of their voices after that solo?😢😢😢
Great song! This version of the song is my favorite! 🙏RIP Phil and Gary

Yeah, Scott's playing was tasty !!!
To true, just 2 great les paul guys with so much heart and soul.
I agree. I love Robo to death but I think that gary and scott had more in common and together just 2 great songwriters and blues players.
Great song great solo best live band in the world... Ever!!
24th of this month we'll have it :)
This composition is a testament to the incredible musicianship of the late GREAT Gary Moore.
