    Thanks. I have Nikon D5600 and like AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR . This lens shoots portraits well in full height. It is convenient for traveling and quite versatile. I tested it from my balcony in the fall. I was shooting autumn trees in the yard. It turned out great. The first picture came out almost perfectly in the light side light of the beginning of the evening. Colors, sharpness, lightness... I was very happy.

    I bought the 18-140mm on your recommendation for 160€ on Ebay used but in very good condition and refurbished. I am super happy with the lens. I use it on my Nikon D3300. It's perfectly adequate for amateur photographers who just want to take some nice pictures. The Nikon D3300 is not a bad camera either, I got mine in mint condition with just 437 exposures for 150€ and it also came with a Tamron 17-50mm... It's really amazing how cheap you can get solid old technology, and what good pictures you can still take with it.

      Absolutely, many people don't realise that just because it's old tech, doesn't mean that it's not good.

    Cheers Charles, that video was brilliant and taught me a lot about my lens, helping make full use of it and showing me where I've been going wrong with it in struggling to get sharp images. This is my first lens with my first camera (d7500) which I have only had for around 3 weeks, it's great to get this info early. Thank you.

    Thanks. Great advice. I just bought a used nikon d90 to replace my died nikon d90. Love this camera! I used the 18-55 lens in the past. Looking forward to trying out my new (pre-owned) 18-140 lens.

    One of the best videos about the underrated Nikon 18-140mm lens. Many thanks for great pointers. I have had the lens for 7 years and in years 1-4 I had great photos. Then it all went downhill and I just couldn’t understand. So much so that I started for a new lens.
    Now I realised that the best way is to make use of what you have. Understand the limitations and you will get great results. Will try the VR off on the tripod too as the photos on the tripod aren’t sharp at all.
    Have a super 2022

    Question-I have a D7000 and am a looking to take outdoor shots and some family pictures. I can only buy 1 lens. If I get this one do I buy the hood AND a filter to protect lens? Recommendation for filter please??

    • @CharlesNPhotography
      @CharlesNPhotography  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, absolutely, the Nikon 18-140mm lens normally comes with a lens hood. I wouldn't worry about buying a filter for general purpose photography. I used the 18-140mm for general photography for a long time.

    Thanks for the video. What could be the differences between this and the 55-300?

    • @CharlesNPhotography
      @CharlesNPhotography  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Johnny, the 55-300mm has more focal length than the 18-140mm and if your after a lens that's alright for walk around, but need more zoom, than it's good for that. But the 18-140mm is sharper than the 55-300mm.

    Hi sir... i need your opinion. Should i get 18-140mm lens despite of already having Tamron 18-200mm? Or should i get a prime lens for Portrait? I already have 50mm lens. What additional lens you can advice for me to get?

    • @CharlesNPhotography
      @CharlesNPhotography  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, you already have a good lens with the 18-200mm and the 50mm. I would look at either a 35mm f1.8 for portraits or a 70-300mm for further reach.
