Following on from our DEATH of the HIGHT STREET, BROKEN BRITAIN video n Evesham we take a look at the high street and surrounding area of Chiping Norton which, on the surface at least is doing a lot better
Clarkson's Farm, a docuseries streaming on Amazon Prime Video, invites viewers to witness the trials, triumphs, and comedic mishaps of Jeremy Clarkson as he endeavors to transform his 1,000-acre Diddly Squat Farm into a thriving agricultural enterprise. With his characteristic wit and unyielding determination, Clarkson takes on the challenges of modern farming, grappling with unpredictable weather, stubborn livestock, and the complexities of sustainable agriculture.
But Clarkson's Farm is more than just a farming escapade-it's a celebration of Chipping Norton's rich heritage and the quintessentially British charm that permeates its rolling hills and quaint villages. Situated in the heart of Oxfordshire, Chipping Norton boasts a history dating back to medieval times, when it served as a bustling market town and center of trade.
In the early 20th century, Chipping Norton gained notoriety as the stomping ground of the "Chipping Norton Set," a circle of influential politicians, writers, and socialites who frequented the area. Led by Prime Minister David Cameron and including luminaries such as Rebekah Brooks and Rupert Murdoch, this elite clique was renowned for its opulent parties and close-knit camaraderie, lending an aura of glamour and intrigue to the region.
As we explore Clarkson's Farm, we're transported back in time to an era when the English countryside was both a playground for the privileged and a sanctuary for those seeking refuge from the hustle and bustle of city life. From the tranquil beauty of Cotswold stone cottages to the majestic splendor of ancient churches and manor houses, Chipping Norton exudes a timeless elegance that captivates the imagination and enchants the soul.
As we delve deeper into the world of Chipping Norton and Clarkson's Farm, it's impossible to ignore the indelible mark left by Jeremy Clarkson's former comrades, James May and Richard Hammond, as well as their iconic television shows, Top Gear and The Grand Tour.
Top Gear, the beloved BBC motoring show, catapulted Clarkson, May, and Hammond to international fame with their irreverent humor, daring stunts, and love affair with all things automotive. For over two decades, Top Gear redefined the genre, captivating audiences worldwide with its adrenaline-fueled adventures, epic road trips, and outrageous challenges.
James May, known affectionately as "Captain Slow" for his measured pace and meticulous attention to detail, brought a distinct charm and wit to Top Gear, balancing Clarkson's bombast and Hammond's enthusiasm with his dry humor and encyclopedic knowledge of cars. Together, the trio formed a dynamic partnership that became the heart and soul of the show, earning legions of loyal fans and accolades aplenty.
Meanwhile, Richard Hammond, with his boyish charm and fearless spirit, endeared himself to audiences as the daredevil of the group, fearlessly tackling high-speed challenges and death-defying feats with gusto. From racing supercars across the desert to traversing the treacherous terrain of the Amazon rainforest, Hammond's boundless energy and infectious enthusiasm never failed to entertain and inspire.
Following their departure from Top Gear in 2015, Clarkson, May, and Hammond reunited to create The Grand Tour, a globe-trotting adventure series that picks up where Top Gear left off, albeit with a bigger budget and even more outrageous escapades. From epic road trips across exotic locales to hair-raising feats of automotive engineering, The Grand Tour continues to delight audiences with its trademark blend of humor, camaraderie, and automotive mayhem.
Now, as we explore Clarkson's Farm and the picturesque landscapes of Chipping Norton, we can't help but reflect on the enduring legacy of Top Gear and The Grand Tour, and the profound impact they've had on popular culture and the automotive industry. Whether you're a die-hard petrolhead or simply a fan of good old-fashioned entertainment, there's no denying the irresistible allure of Clarkson, May, and Hammond's antics, both on and off the screen.
So join us as we pay tribute to these motoring mavericks and their unforgettable contributions to the world of television, and embark on a journey through the charming countryside of Chipping Norton with Clarkson's Farm as our guide. Whether you're revving your engines for high-octane thrills or craving a dose of British wit and charm, there's something for everyone to enjoy in this captivating tale of friendship, adventure, and the enduring spirit of Top Gear and The Grand Tour.

Another one just trying ta put JC down, its disturbing how the council are trying to drive him out when hes doing his best to support local farmers. So what the police station shut, so has the one where i live
Thanks for watching
The barn converted to a restaurant was a brilliant idea, and would have given help and financial stability to several Chadlington farmers.
Whether a witch hunt against Clarkson, or a fear that this was "socialist", the council initiated a nasty, vindictive attack which helped nobody and only caused harm.
Actions like this are destroying Britain, culturally and physically
Jealous Brits
Winnie Wallace.....I lived on Horsefair, opposite the Oxford House....It was a lovely place then. I was there for a couple of years and enjoyed it's Cotswold quaintness. There was the Lido, the Theatre and weekly Market. You could get a daily bus to Oxford or Birmingham and we loved having a pint in the Blue Boar. It had it's fair share of Celebrities who lived there and of course, it's very famous Recording Studio.
Sounds great!
Hang on a minute, did i hear right? There are several luxury hotels and they are all open for business? You can actually book a room in any of them? How come they're not all permanently fully booked, no room at the inn? And security guards getting threatening because you are filming the hotel?
Might be a different video!
My local market was "outsourced" many years ago and a couple of years ago the company running it threatened to close the market down completely because it wasn't making them enough money.
For 800 years the market had managed without their "assistance".
Stallholders lobbied the council and together the stallholders and council run what is now a popular and successful market three days a week.
"Outsourcing" is a tired Tory gimmick that has never worked
Sad to hear that
However the same closures are taking place everywhere. Burghead, my village, the bank, 2 churches, 3 pubs, bakery, clothes shop, post office, fish & chip shop, have all gone!
Not the fish and chip shop!
Great video - make more!
Will do buddy!
Great stuff, can't stand the place personally - but each to their own
Thanks man!
The building opposite the Premier Inn used to be a cottage hospital. (One of my children was born there). The Premier Inn used to be an ambulance station.
Thanks for the info! Seems no rush to develop it?
Afraid I have no idea. We left Chippy in '97. Looking at your excellent video, it appears an awful lot has changed.
@@stuartqwh Certainly has...
Chipping Norton is the best place... (pause)
- IN THE WORLD !!!
😁 Not sure anyone would go that far!
@@scumdeluxe No but I can hear that in Jezza's voice.
I want somebody to ask The Stig what HE thinks.
😂 Thanks for watching!
The old hospital has been under development for many years
Thanks for watching!

It's quiet sad the guy at 3:45 got shot down just for saying hi to Clarkson. That person who was with Clarkson had no right to but in like that. Just because he's famous doesn't mean he should be treated like it.
If a couple pulled up and you say hello via his name and his wife goes, do you know him ?
And you answer no. Then the wife has no right to say (Insert the wife name then husband).
Ordinary folks don't like to be looked down upon, Jeremy could easily missed a skill set what that man had.
and could of been useful to him.
Sorry for this rant but I just hate man handlers or in this case celebrities handlers.
Thanks for watching!
doubt jeremy was rude like that. if that part of the story WAS true im sure he conveniently left out his side of the rude behavior. you know those types, they were just a saint ... later you hear the whole story and they were the jerks to begin with. beginning of the story kinda gave a clue " he pulls up in his fancy car ..."
The place looks lovely roll on Islam coming to your town it'll really give the place a brilliant lift just like it has all around the world 🌎 you'll see soon😂
🤣🤣🤣
Well, England, the UK, Europe, are all part of Dar al-harb (and very "peaceful" it all is, too). I see there was a vicious k.N.i-f-e attack in Deutschland today. Well, apparently you can never have enough of those.
MY COMMENT WAS REMOVED! What was offensive? It can't be that I mentioned the peace attack in Deutschland today? Or maybe it was that, like Europe, the UK is in Dar al-harb?
Rocky Burton keeps saying he got his car stolen This man lies
Thanks for watching!
Absolute muppet trying to slate Clarkson pure jealousy 💯gang of snobs 💯JEREMY CLARKSON FOR PRIME MINISTER 💯💯💯

@@ejl1000 It won't be as big as that because that's the strategy being used in Ireland, and it's awoken and galvanized the natives. It's mainly frogs slowly being boiled alive in the pot in the UK.
But wasn't the u-n plan to move 66m up from a.f.r-i.ka into Europe by 2025? I warned my aunt in Galway of this plan when we were on the phone in 2020. To her credit, and as far as I know, I don't think she laughed at me behind my back, conspiracy theorist, etc. But for sure, she won't be laughing today.
@@ejl1000 Actually, what do I know? It could be true. Even 5000 would completely change such a small town.
So whats the point of this video
Watch it and make your own mind up I guess? Thanks for stopping by...
A look around an a word from locals. It's a concept older than TV.

So what fruit and veg are in season grown within a few mile in early may? Not a lot!
What a stupid comment to make!! 🤦♂️
It was, on reflection.
“They show top gear in France”WHAT? 🤦♂️ Top Gear was, if not still is, the largest exported Worldwide TV show the BBC has ever had! You didn’t know that? You asked a French guy if he had ever seen it?
Thanks for watching
@@scumdeluxe I couldn’t
Yet the elderly gentleman didn’t have the proper manners to introduce himself to JC yet you’ve all forgotten how to behave as you’ve let your own standards slip. Manners maketh Man. He doesn’t know JC and so it would be Mr Clarkson. You wouldn’t call your Bank Manager Alan unless you knew him?
Thanks for watching. We just ask the questions.
@@scumdeluxe and are responsible for output, your angle was on slating JC and everyone who made anything of themselves, what are your intentions for having a TH-cam channel?
@@davidhargreaves1728 Not in the business of censorship sorry.
People dont udnerstand that celebrities are not friends just because you see them daily on television. Same goes with sympathy for politicians.
I'm not sure anyone who lives in Chippy gives a damn about the farm shop.
Never been, know where it is.
Some of the people in Clarksons farm telly show visit the local co-op in Chippy a lot - no big deal.
I've seen David Cameron shopping a few times, Rebecca Brooks lives in a large gaffe nearby - saw her buying a shopping trolley of champers 4 or 5 years back from the co-op.
Apparently Rupert Murdoch had his hair cut in the barbers I go to.
And ... so what? Nobody who lives here pays it any mind.
And the traffic bit of your video at around 9:20 - have a look at this video, from 1964 in Chipping Norton, same spot, same observation!

Kind of the impression I got in general
WHAT QUESTION? THEY SHOW TOP GEAR IN FRANCE? TOP GEAR IS SEEN AROUND THE WORLD

Jeremy Clarkson is only interested in jeremy Clarkson, he's only sticking up for farmers because he's making money from his show. His grovelling apology to prince harry and meghan markle, were pathetic. He's a joke. Plus he's from Rotherham 😂😂😂
Thanks for watching!
