The difference in Gen 2 is found in all Apollos except x16. All the rest have been update to have better DR and THD specs such that all are now VERY close to the flagship x16 and x16D Gen 2s.

Proper room treatment costs thousands. Some decent self-made traps and panels alongside sonarworks is a great compromise. Monitor correction is getting more and more sophisticated. Brands like Kii use DSP to sort out the room and are the best sounding monitors I've heard. The clarity is unreal, even in ridiculous situations. Not having to run the SW plug-in would be a big plus, for me at least. I've been wanting this for a while, I'm sure many other Apollo users will be delighted.
Hang on, Auto Gain has been around with RME, Audient and others have had this as standard for ages. Room correction by Sonarworks integration is already on RME TotalMix FX. Unison has been part of UAD for years, why are we talking about this like it's a new thing? The one thing I would've expected is a massive update in DSP power. But, NO, where's the modern day processors? If you haven't upgraded the Processing power/ CPU's, why are you even bothering? Probably he refers to the fact that the Sonarworks feature won't be available for black panel Apollo and Twin mkII software - which would probably be absolutely no problem. This is what disapoints me right now. I mean, you even have to pay for the feauture, even though you own Sonarworks, but also no support for older hardware. This is a bummer.
