For people making fun of her accent:
    1. She probably speaks more languages than you do.
    2. You might be a native speaker but that doesn't garantee you her score.
    3. You might not have half of her worldwide knowledge, so stfu
Thanks for the tips. Subscribed x

  • @sarahben908

I just had my toefl test, I want to share my experience with you,
-for the reading: I got 4 passage, the first one was actually difficult because I didn’t truly grasp what it was about. In this section if they ask you how or why X react or some information about X I advise you to read two sentences before and after they mention X because I personally was blocked in some question while I just had to read the sentences before or after.that will save you time. For me the last question was the most difficult because you need to know every details about the text when You didn’t even read it. So I suggest you read the proposition given to you and then look for them in the text if they are true then put them
    - the listen section, wasn’t that hard besides that when I was having my listen others have already started their speaking so it was hard for me to concentrate. Namely, I advise you to come early to your test center and start earlier than the others. And also, take note of everything especially on scientific lecture even if you don’t understand the meaning of a word just write it down because it doesn’t matter how you spell them they will test you on your listen and give you chooses.
-speaking section: wasn’t that hard for me even if the question where awkward (without any sense for me). Just try to invent thing, imagine specially in 1st and 2nd question, and also talk about your self. And use template.(If you want the ones I used contact me)
-writing section: when I took my practice test for the first time i couldn’t finish on time. But while practicing I kind of get used to it. What worked for me is that I start writing the introduction right after the listen had finished then in the first paragraph I gave 3 reasons why the author is in favor of Y (according the reading, the writers posits that........ the first reason.......the second........the last). Then the reasons why the lecturer is against the idea. I prefer this method to the other one ( on each paragraph the reason for supporting the idea and the reason for refuting it: the writer supports.....for this reason however the lecturer refutes it by giving his reason). Q2 of the writing: write down 2reasons to support you point of view and also give one reason why the other choice is also a good idea (optional). Develop you point of view, give personal examples (we can’t deny the advantages of the choice2 because......explain. However, I believe that choice 1 is better ( 2 reasons and explain)
    - THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS TO PRACTICE, THE MORE YOU WILL PRACTICE THE MORE YOU BE ABLE TO HAVE A HIGH SCORE.

    • @mariadelmarnarvaez8500
      @mariadelmarnarvaez8500 4 ปีที่แล้ว +19

Qais Yosufzai ofc! I used the official TOEFL book and went over that, I did the practice tests they provide you (I think there are 4 of them) and also practiced a bit with online exams. I would say concentrate on the things you struggle with the most. I thought the hardest part was reading because it’s long and tiring so I did a lot of mcq on that. Also, writing is a bit difficult if you study on your own because you don’t really have a way to check it, so get a second opinion or someone to correct it for you and try timing yourself. On the speaking part I used some templates I found on these videos or on the internet and timed myself, I practiced with random topics people said they had on their own exams to see if I could make a good use of my time or if I was babbling too much, but look up for those templates and write them on a flashcard; memorizing them will make it way easier so you don’t get stuck on the actual exam.
An extra tip: even if you don’t complete some questions on the test, try doing your best. I didn’t manage to finish the reading section and still got a good grades because the ones I did answer were correct, so balance time with quality. Best of luck:)!

I don’t know if anyone needs to hear this but I feel it's right to say, so that no one else has to go through what happened to me.
I took the TOEFL test a few days ago and it was one of the worst experiences I had to undergo. My screen froze during the writing section and I couldn’t scroll down to read the remaining passage during the integrated part. I called for the proctor for help and she IGNORED me for the better part of 50 minutes until the end of the entire test. The spectacle didn’t end there, as the proctor TALKED OUT LOUD on full volume when I had to listen to what I had to speak on during the speaking section. She continued talking through the speakers for more than a minute, during all the listening (even if she lied to the institution saying that she talked just to ask to lower the camera, that requires 3 seconds). I was so nervous and terrified as the sheer horror of speaking on something I could NOT hear. I had to compose myself and I did my best to speak as this joke of an “test” came to an end. This is incompetence and a scam.
I immediately filed a complaint and sent them an email to open an investigation. It’s evident that “investigation” didn’t happen as ETS chose to not do their job like their LIAR of a proctor and simply took her word for it. My scores will stand and I was told I will not be allowed to retake the test for free. They chose NOT to review my RECORDED test.
Choosing TOEFL was definitely one of the worst decisions I’ve ever made in my life. They’re morally bankrupt and shamelessly corrupt. Don’t let them mess with your future. I’ve said my piece, make of that what you will. And add that to all the complaints of other type you can find on this page (for example not receiving the scores in time).

Hi! Your videos are pretty great and useful, thanks~
    A question here...
How do you deal with the last question of each article?
I mean the one that requires kinda like three main ideas of the article
I'm using almost the same strategy as yours to do the reading part, and it's pretty nice, but when it comes to the last question, I occasionally get a bit nervous and panic since after having all the previous questions answered (well, by that strategy, most of the time just jump to the next question when sentences providing answers being located, which means I didn't actually finish the whole article), and most of the time I just try to read all six answers trying to find out that if any of them matches the article, but it doesn't work quite well...
So how can it be much easier and more efficient to conquer?
    Thanks~

I'm here to check how her accent changed by years, I've from her latest video. At first, I never realized she is Russian. Her accent is superb, her stand is acceptable. Actually, the most reliable people to listen and watch regarding accent are not the native speakers. Its more okay, I think, to learn from the ESL speakers because they know the approach.
