I recently received my TOEFL scores. I just had two weeks for preparation and I referred your videos for preparing. I'm very thankful to you, I got 29 in listening.
A piece of advice to everybody. 25:40 don't do this on the test. Try even to avoid looking up into your notes. You won't have time to read the question, to consider all possible answers, to search for the relevant information and, lastly, to figure what fits best. Jotting down notes will simply be your memory aid: by writing sth down (comprehensively) you send a signal to your brain that this information is important and it has to remember it. So essentially everything that you've written down over the last 3 minutes will stick in your head. That's basically how short-term memory works. Glad to help :)

I don’t know if it is me or not but I think there is a detail people forget to mention about the actual TOEFL test. You don’t have that much time to check the answers from the notes you took. I think the point of the whole listening section is for you to remember the content of the lecture or the conversation. As far as I can remember, you’re given like 5 minutes to respond to more than 10 questions. If you spend a few seconds checking your notes, it’s likely that you’ll run out of time before you answer all of the questions. I practiced at lot using an official TOEFL preparation book and a CD that accompanies it. Drawing from my experience I can say the way the listening section is designed in the actual test (or at least the time you are given for answering) is very different from what you have got from the official preparation Book.
Hello, Marina! I had to pass TOEFL test in a month, so I decided to practice my English more. It was surprising when I discovered that my English Listening skill is not good then I thought. It was so helpful for me because I know what I need to pay attention more. I think if you will do the same video about other options of TOEFL it will great and so helpful for us who is going to pass TOEFL. So thank you so much!
I think these type of exams aren’t about your English but your comprehension. I mean if you take this test in your native language, you’ll probably have the same problems that are going on here. That’s difficult. I got my brain dead after this video, probably 50 percent of the answers wrong

It must be my lucky day 😉 it may sound as unreal, believe me guys ,I'm not bragging 🚫 showing off or STH like that, but all my answers were correct without taking notes, because I was on the bus 🚌 no marker ,no paper, just my wallet with some cards and some cush , the topics were clear , straightforward , I was able to catch all the information and store them in my head, thnx to my memory this time, it served me well, ☺️ which is not the case for most part !!! It used to let me down when I need it the most , miracles still exist, it's magic guys 🤗 I enjoyed listening the whole process , TEFL I'm ready for you 😁
I got 98 in TOEFL iBT 4 years ago. I am taking the test this Saturday again. Hope to achieve something similar. Thank you for your lessons, they are really handy and useful.

I think the hardest thing about taking this test is that you have to read each sentence and answer option, choose the answer, and listen to the audio all together. Also, you may listen to the audio only once or twice. I think this test is about attention, not listening.

That was pretty hard but I did great. I didn't have anything next to me to take notes (and I was too lazy to go get them) so I take the test without taking notes. They actually taught me French at school the very hard way , so I guess I'm used to it.... Thank you for what you're doing for us Marina....

looks like toefl is not just about testing your english, but your focus, stamina, memory. people should not judge others mastery in english language from toefl. it is like judging how high someone can jump by their basketball career achievements
