I remember performing this piece about a year ago for our end of year concert my 10th grade year. At the time I just thought it was another cool song, y’know whatever, but as later on in the year I “matured” per say and started to think about and “understand” things more, not just in music but in life as well, this piece has really made me feel things that no other piece can. It reminds of the journey I and others have gone through this past year, and perhaps later on I’ll look back and remember those times fondly, but with acceptance and a willingness to move on, which I need cause I get stuck in the past often hehe. Conquest 1 will always have a special place in my and many’s heart, such an inspiration, magical piece. Truly incapsulates much of what music is (even though you can’t really define music) and can be.
