This announcement was done right. Introducing Adam at this time was a great decision. When compared to Avi Kaaplan's (from Pentatonix) goodbye announcement, I only wish that Pentatonix had his replacement allready in place.

That is exactly what came to my mind. Even though it is six years past this happening, it still feels like they handled this with friendship and care for the whole group. I’ve watched Chris Rupp and he seems to be doing great. I really like Adam Chance as the replacement. I think the group is blessed.
I could not believe the attitudes of Pentatonix when Avi quit. There was anger there but no genuine explanation for that. I miss Avi in the group but they have managed to have great voices always. The video of Avi growing into his own skin, so to speak, was very off putting to me! I’m glad he followed his heart. He has such a beautiful voice.
I’m so glad my favorite group - Home Free - was more mature and understanding. They have also managed to have singers who can each stand alone with their voice. I’m so glad they stick together as well as they have. Such wonderful talent and a joy to watch! I hope for the best for each person individually and in the group. They all have my support. They give such pleasure. I’m glad they went country as I was raised on country music.
God bless each of the group - present and past! I loved the videos showing the group from the original three men. There does not seem to be any hard feelings among any of them. ❤️🔥🥰
I feel the same way in a sense. But to me, this group has been together twice as long and even longer than Pentatonix, so their choices and reveal of doing this is more mature.

Chris, as the founder of Home Free, you've let us welcome you and your group into our hearts and given us a style that has never been heard of. Your abilities as a baritone and quirky attitude really made the group a lot of fun to watch and admire. I don't think anyone could be more proud of Home Free's accomplishments as you are. Seeing you grow in the solo bit so far has been nothing shy of a magical road, and sometimes you have to make that big choice. I want to say thank you for showing us your love of music, especially in a capella, that will hopefully last forever. We are all going to miss you, and are eager to hear your future performances. My six favorite performers all in one video. These men set a standard that is pretty high. Gorgeous voices, and great beatboxing, great performance skills, lot's of humor. But they are really nice guys, too, and the way they did this break up is first class. Bless these young men!
After seeing plenty of artists at odds with each other and all the gossip surrounding "what really happened", this is a truly classy way to handle a transition. Glad to see Chris step into some new stuff and not leave Home Free without an apt replacement. Looking forward to seeing cool videos and hearing awesome music from everyone in the future!

+Combattant A I would actually be interested to see what would happen if PTX took a break to go solo. Maybe collaborate with each other to make awesome projects that would have instrumentation. Scott already has two or three solo albums out, Kavin has a solo EP, and Avi has shown that he is a damn good guitar player as well as a singer. Everything at some point will feel tired and boring to the people who make it, that's why they try new sounds and do new things. I would love to see an Avi Kaplan or Kirstie Maldonado or Mitch Grassi solo album in the future.
+Hearts&Minds Yes2 i too would be VERY interested to see an EP or solo album from any of them, especially Mitch cos there's hardly any solo project from him that i could find aside a few cover videos and superfruit. However, what I actually meant from the previous comment was not of them having a break, but instead, of them leaving the group like what Chris is doing, bcos for ptx, that would be... just don't do it ok haha

I have been fun of Home Free since 2013. I listen to all their music including the sing off songs again and again every day. The group has shown the world that If there is the talent and commitment, every thing can be done. I see each person like 5 fingers of the hand. Every body has his own irreplaceable role in the success the Band. Chris was one of the founding starts with a lot of talents and vision. If you listen to the music carefully line by line, you can simply understand how his role makes the music full. Chris is a kind the bond who brings together the Bass, the lead, the Drummer and the Piano to be integrated one. I feel like they are losing the strong chain that brings all talents of the team member to be attractive and beautiful. I do believe he will be successful in his future projects and Solo business. While I know I’m late to this comment, it would be neat if Chris would pop in every once in a while, for a video with everyone!
He's got his own You Tube Chanel and sometimes the other OG Home Free guys will show up on there
He actually hangs around in some music vids of HF, like and Easter egg or a cameo.
While I understand Chris's desire to follow his passion, I tend to be disappointed when artists go solo. Bands, the really good bands, are always exponentially better than the sum of their individual parts. I enjoyed Gwen Stefani much more when she was with No Doubt, and while Amy Lee is an amazing, amazing singer, her solo ventures to me have never had the same impact as those works she did with Evanescence (well, except for the collab with Seether in 'Broken', but that's really just the same effect coming into play).
That being said, best of luck to Chris in his future endeavors. He'll be missed!

+home bound that's a sad story you tell. It's true that Chris had the least stage presence of the five, but generally getting rid of founders is not a good idea. Apple doesn't do well without Steve Jobs, even though many did not like him.
+home bound I saw Chris sing solos with the group and he lacked stage presence. I'll look for this CD party. I'll look for Shine also, but if it's a cover, you can't read into the words
+home bound I looked at him performing at that party. Chris has much less stage presence than Austin Brown. That's not to say he's not a brilliant musician. But David Foster is a brilliant musician and he's always put others with more stage presence in front of him when he's performing to distract the audience, which he's actually doing most of the work.
It's weird knowing they're all likely reading this while we're discussing it.
The way I look at it I have twice as much good music to listen to as before. Both Home Free and Chris's non-acapella group, 7th Ave, are putting out some amazing stuff.
I'm sorry to hear you're going, Chris. Honest to god I am. But I truly wish you the best of luck towards whatever endeavors you decide to pursue! And to Home Free, let's keep on rolling guys!

Go with your passion Chris. You have always been my favorite mostly because I knew you were the brains behind all the talent. Glad I got to see you perform in my home town on 2/14/16. I wish you much luck for the future.

Chris, thank you for your forthrightness. You've made a brave decision, and I wish you the best in your endeavors. I, like many folks, have been a fan of Home Free since I first saw you on the Sing Off. I hope the group retains the same tight, blended harmonies that have set you apart from most a capella groups.
