hey man! I'm the guy in the red 650(black helmet) at the beginning, sorry for holding you up! It was my first track day and I got better as the sessions went on. I was having a blast! but I take a look at my footage now and also realized I got held up a lot by the slower guys on the liter bikes! If I had anyway of knowing you were faster than me in the corners I would have let you past... I would try to sign up for the intermediate level session next time...
^ I wasn't really mad at the liter bike guys though, If I remember correctly, during the first riders brief ~90% of the Novice class were all brand new to track riding
Why apologize to him? He is a selfish butthead who has no idea what the purpose of the novice segment is. My lord is this the type of people who we have to share the world with?
We've all been there. If you're learning instead of being frustrated (which will happen regardless) then you'll continue to move up in group. Focus on the line and the passing opportunities and capitalize when you can do so safely. Small bikes may lack the top end speed but have the advantage under braking and through the corner, timing is everything.
Well the good news is; now that you've done a track day, you can bump up to intermediate ...be warned though: Intermediate is probably the worst class because everyone who does one track day goes to Intermediate (people who really need more Novice track days) and the most accidents happen in that group (I've seen some really bad ones). Stay at the back for the first few sessions (and pay close to attention to EVERYONE)
@@WhoolieMammoth yeah Miami track days don’t really have good crews enforcing much so it gets sloppy easily, sorry to say. But it’s the only option for us down here so it is what it is
@@Treizez34there’s also one other blaring issue in intermediate, there’s a bunch more people like this guy that thinks they are better than everyone and ends up crashing 😂
Bro, you had me laughing my butt off that was some entertaining shit. I can tell you that much. It was almost like you were videoing him, bro and promoting him and this is your channel, lol my boy, unfamiliar life goes down there all the time and races at that track and usually has a good time. that was some entertaining shit bro anyway, maybe better luck next time but don’t knock it, bro. It was great watching it. 😂😂😂👍🏼👍🏼💯
unpopular opinion: if you were a better rider, you'd be able to either 1) exit the track and take 5 seconds to let all the slow people to get far, far, far ahead of you... and/or 2) be better able to get around slower riders by carrying significant better corner speed and better timing as well.
I can say I have been in this very situation on a 300 with this orginization and the trush it the shit show is spread all over the track. Hot pitting just lumps you in with another shit show, and if the groups are full they won't bump you... they are always full, lol.
ahh, i know the small bike struggles very well re: my 390. no passing in corners is rough. hopefully next time you bump to I and can actually leverage your momentum (:
I was with them last year at PBIR (x3) & Agree that it was a Sh*tshow/Crazy stuff happening -We did pass in the corners though in Novice in the later sessions. We had that rule but it was not "Enforced".
That's how it is at track days thou. The thing is they aren't set up very well, should have small bikes on track separately from big bikes, but they don't do it, they use the old ,what's your skill level. Doesn't work and never will.
By the time that was an option (after all the novice classes), they started losing instructors and didn't have any to spare to observe. Next track day I did move up tho
@@WhoolieMammoth I have been riding for years but I just recently bought a motorcycle and it kind of scares the shit out of me. I’ve never owned a V-twin but this is my first one and it is a monster. It is a 2014 KTM RC 8R 1190
@@WhoolieMammoth i’m not sure, I’m still trying to figure the damn thing out but I will tell you it is a straight up raw bike. There is no assist on it. just started my first few track sessions and will say your complaining is exactly what hot pits are for. If there is someone who is slower than you that you can't pass for whatever reason, just do a hot pit. That's what hot pits exist for man. You're in novice, not intermediate, and not advanced. It isn't a race either. Also different orgs have different rules so maybe try an org that allows you to pass in the outside next time. You have an ego like you're in A group but riding like you're in C/D group. Also this was 2 years ago so i'm sure you've probably got your shit together by now i'd imagine
I ride mostly that track . Ride intermediate and expert . Have an older ducati 749 . Get passed by 1000s that can’t turn for shit . This is me every track day !!! I am not alone I see !!
