Thanks very much my friend I do try and keep it real if I can .
All the best Martin 👍
Excellent job Martin ❤
Cheers Shawn glad you liked it my friend All the best Martin 👍
Great work as always.
This one is priceless!
SOO KOOLLLLL .
Mike
Thanks Mike much appreciated my friend 👍
Great job, Martin! It looks great in yellow! Love the functions on this one. If there was no battery leakage the electronics should be fine, although electrolytic capacitors do tend to leak or dry out over time. So if the siren should start to sound weird, you'll probably need to replace the blue capacitor.
Thanks for the information Johan it's really appreciated my friend
You know for a plonker you did a fantastic restoration cheers Michael
Cheers Rodney 🤣🤣
Yes, yellow is the colour for that one. Nice job....... she looks 100% better. 👏🏻👌🏻👍🏻
I was thinking that old pipe is probably not watertight any more and the joint is right over the electrics. Perhaps a little sheet of polythene when you do the back shutter? Not that you're going to be playing with it.
Much 😉
Thanks very much my friend, that's a good idea I will give it a go .
All the best Martin
I was going to say, i bet every dad of a kid that had one of those took the batteries out and hid them! Great work Martin!!
Cheers Bryan yes I would have been one of those dad's, 🤣🤣 all the best Martin
Yellow paint is a bright color 👍a ton of detail on this airport crash truck Martin, really looks great!! & a big one too, very interesting piece you restored, enjoyed very much 👍. As always my friend take care and see ya on the next restro. 👋😎🚒🚗🚙

Looks good ol buddy, love the detailing, especially the dials in the back ✌️😎 cheers Don
Thanks Don appreciate you brother
Wow once again Martin, you certainly like the difficult ones to rebuild don’t you! 😳. There were so many parts in that once you had disassembled it and it’s amazing that it all went back together again - well done you buddy!! 👏👏. And the end result looks fantastic too and what a difference it made having it in yellow instead of red. Great workmanship my friend! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers. ………..Graham
Thanks for the kind words Graham it's really appreciated my friend 👍
An interesting model and a nice resto job...with a very impressive color!
Thanks very much Phil glad you liked it my friend 👍
Amazing stuff Martin much better in the yellow. I heard of a collector with one of these, he called it Elvis. When asked why he said because "I Love me Tender". All the best from Ian b & the girls.

Wow Martin! As they say in Scotland that is a "stoater"! Perhaps something I can aspire to in another 5 years. Very impressive.
Cheers Tom ,I appreciate it my friend.
Once you get the hang of it you'll be knocking good models out in no time ,have fun that's the main thing.
All the best Martin 👍
What a beautiful work Martin, as always, Take care
Thanks very much Andy 😀 👍
Thats a Big one Martin haha...Great colour mate...❤
Cheers Brian 🍻
That looks fantastic in yellow. we stil have the one in red.
Thanks very much my friend
I got my one Christmas 1975 I use to fill my water with matey bubble bath 😊,I loved it ,my mum worked for wimpy construction at flyover house right by the A4/M4 near Chiswick roundabout me and dad met her from work one evening around late summer 75 and a brand new one came down the great west road all shiny red with trade plates on being not far from Heathrow must of been on test I swear the wheels were 5-6 ft diameter ,your one looks great in yellow as you know I have a collection of fire engines I might look around for a nice one as for the electronics they are a bit moody and if you have a leaky pipe that don’t help
Great work my friend watched the video with them nice ginger snaps you recommended and a coffee superb really nice
Mark 😊😊
Thanks Mark, I bet that was a great sight seeing that massive fire engine coming up the road.
Those ginger biscuits are great watch out when dunking 🤣🤣
Martin we need grow old with our toys. Thank you
This is very true my friend, all the best Martin
Turned out Fantastic, mate found 1 of these at a garage sale for $5 mint condition, but his version didnt have the water, as there was 2 of these 1 with water feature and 1 without, you probably know this, also BIG congratulations on 4K well deserved
Cheers KC & CC 🇦🇺🇳🇿🤝🇬🇧🇬🇧😎👍✌
Hi KC good to hear from you my friend, and thanks for checking this one out .
All the best to you and CC
Great job looks nice in yellow
Thanks very much Peter glad you liked it my friend 👍
Oh hi again martin! I am overwhelmed by all your past years of restorations on loads of cars and trucks just fantastic and everything looks just like new again i spoke to a fellow restorer at a model fair and he gave me good advice about making replacement windscreens for any scale model and he showed me how with measurements and a bit of bending into place using the plastic from a large round tic tac container and it works very well and fits right into the door and windscreen frames and ive done mainly tractor cabs and some beaten up 1.50 scale joal volvos and cararama trucks same scale and you are doing fantastic work martin! well done....chris...😛
Thanks for that information it's very useful I will look in to it ,and thanks for the kind words it's really appreciated my friend
Fantastic restoration Martin. That was one of my favourite presents when I was a kid. Don't tell my mum, but I used to make a little fire at the back of the garden and tried to put it out with the squeezy thing.
Well done.
Take care, Jeff
Thanks Jeff, I bet you had fun with it ,especially putting homemade fire's out ,glad you liked it my friend 👍
@@martindaredare Thanks Martin I did enjoy it. I could of done with a real fire engine 6 months ago.
Take care, Jeff
Beautiful Martin. ☕👌🥐🤗
Cheers Jan 🍻 much appreciated my friend
Excellent restoration Martin definitely looks better in yellow mate well done 👏
Cheers luke much appreciated my friend 👍
That is an awesome restoration Martin. Yellow paint is a bright color 👍Best wishes
Thanks very much Paul, definitely a lot of paint used on this one .
All the best Martin 👍
O.M.G! It is a good job that you can not hear everybody shouting at their laptops/computers, "the battery cover is in upside down! "
Cheers Mike, I think I might have heard something 😀 all the best Martin
You really transformed that one Martin, I love it in the yellow, what a beautiful restoration, top job again, a bit tricky with all those parts, I’ve got that to come when I do the one I have, might have to put it off a bit longer lol. Very enjoyable video, I even watched it on the big tv 👌👍😊 All the best, Nick🐸🐸🐸
Cheers nick ,yeah it's not to bad just need to be carfull handling the electrics.
All the best Martin
Once again you smashed it out of the ballpark
Cheers mick 👍
Really enjoyed that, Martin.
Thanks very much Paul it's really appreciated my friend
Very good, Martin! Love it, mine needs work, but I have to find a door and the electronics for it, one of these days... Have a great one and cheers!🙂❤👌
Thanks very much my friend, I hope you find the parts you need it's a nice one to do.
All the best Martin 👍
Fantastic job Martin !
Thanks very much my friend its really appreciated 👍
very interesting project there Martin, all sorts of skills used on that one 👍👍👍
Thanks Neil, it was a bit of a challenge but worth doing 👌
The chassis was built by Reynolds Boughton of Reading the engine usually was a detroit diesel two stroke gearbox by Allison transmission axles I am not sure of bodywork and fire fighting equipment by chubb that's the real thing your restoration of the model is fantastic loved watching every second of it .
Thanks very much for the information Stuart very interesting.
Glad you liked it my friend 👍
hi Martin, i remember these in the 60s, but did not have one, one of Corgi's best, along with chipperfields circus vehicles.love the yellow colour and black interior, i remember in the 70s London Airport had Thornycroft Nubian Major fire tenders with cummins engines.really looked the part
Cheers Peter, these are definitely monster trucks ,and a nice casting by corgi with good play value.
Glad you liked it .
All the best Martin
I love these old, large scale utility vehicles. The intricate disassembly was as interesting as your restoration. Great colour choice, going with yellow. As a kid, I would have loved to have had one. As a parent... that's an annoying, messy toy! 😂 Wishing you a very merry Christmas season, Martin. 🍁☕👍
Thanks Andrew, yes definitely a noisy messy toy ,ideal for one of your garlands build .
All the best Martin
Hello Martin not seen one before great video very enjoyable hope you and your family are keeping well regards Glyn
Thanks Glyn glad you liked this one .
All the best to you all
Brilliant job martin, I’ve certainly got my work cut out when I do mine, I’m now in two minds about what colour to do mine
Cheers Kevin, you did well with yours
@@martindaredare thanks Martin, yeah I’m quite pleased with it, just waiting for decals to arrive in the post
Brilliant job Martin 👍
Cheers Andy 🍻
Very good job as always Martin 😊
Thanks very much my friend its really appreciated 👍
Merry Christmas to you and your Family. Great show once again mate.😎😎😎😎😎
Thanks very much my friend and a merry Christmas to you all
She’s beautiful. I was thinking that battery door was backwards lol
Yeah I had a senior moment on that bit 🤣🤣 all the best Martin
I actually have an original yellow one. My friend's Grandpa was over in the UK in the 70s, and brought it back to the States, when he returned. True original paint, rough condition, but supposedly only 1 of 6.
That's excellent news thay are rare
it is for sale
Great work Martin as always but I much prefer the good old stuff
Thanks very much, yes the older castings are nice ,but it's nice to mix things up a bit ,thanks for your support my friend its really appreciated
G DAY mate, great job I was yelling at the laptop about you having that flap around the wrong way.😂😂🤣🤣 Yes yellow really looks the business. There's a road I drive down next to Adelaide airport and there's a pull in bay where you can sit in your car and watch the planes fly in and out. Over one side of the airport there is an old fuselage of a plane that the airport fire fighters practice on. They even use smoke when they spray there water canons on it. Either that or I was watching a real plane crash.🤔🤣🤣There fire trucks are yellow too. Yes kids are funny I can imagine someone giving that truck at Christmas and confiscating the battery's after ten minutes. I made the mistake of giving my nephews some mouth organs one year. 🤔MMM maybe not the best present.😂😂 Catch you on the next one mate.👍🏻
Hi Geoff, glad you liked it 👍 yes I used to watch these guys when I was a lad ,great to watch mind you the vehicles were a lot older, yes very annoying noise after a few minutes, like the ice cream man I told my kids if his bell is ringing that means he has run out of ice creams 🤣🤣 thay soon got wise to that .
All the best Martin 👍
😂😂I'll remember that one.@@martindaredare
A lovely job Martin it looks very nice in the yellow ive got 2 of them just waiting to get done. Lol just got to get my finger out , i bet everybody was shouting at their screen to tell you you had that battery cover upside down lol but great job.
Ralph
Cheers Ralph 🤣🤣 yes had a bit of a senior moment , glad you liked it 👍
Monster Truck, Monster Truck! Too big for my boxes, and too toy-like for my taste, but a really nice job, Martin! How much better it looks in those colours! Did you look at micro-corrugated paper for the rear door, as an alternative? I have used it before, and it looks the part if you cut carefully... great looking result! You must have heard me shouting about the battery tray cover!
Cheers fraser, yes I did look around alternative ways for the back but found the area a bit tight to get it to work without damaging it .
Glad you liked it 👍
That's a mighty beast, Martin I like the colour change. It's a nice update. Well done.
Thanks very much Gerry
now that was a major undertaking for sure. :) quite big! and interesting function. some other braqnds would have included a water pump and reservoir, which would be corroded away by now. this seems to be an easier solution. the price tag must have been tall enough as it was back when.
parents might've chucked the thing out the window, or put an empty battery in when the kid wasn't looking and pretending there is no new one, gotta hit the store after the holidays, and then hope the kid has forgotten about that until then. :P
Thanks Lothar, yes it's definitely an easier way of getting Warter through the engine, and cheaper for manufacturers, it's just snow annoying noise like most toys with sound ,thanks for your continued support my friend
I like your work. I have two of these trucks. I'm going to paint one red and the other yellow.
But i find it difficult to paint yellow. I always need some more sprays.
Hi Patrick, yellow is not the easiest colour to paint ,I use a white primer if I have it ,then light coats let it settle then another light coat ,and build it up that way ,.all the best Martin
it is very nice but i like the red color for fire truck ....
True, fire trucks are normally red.But most Airport truck's are yellow, even if they look wrong.I live near Luton Airport,& sometimes they go around the outside roads, sirens blaring!
Thanks Muhammad normally it would have been but most airports painted these yellow I personally don't know the reasons why
All the best Martin

Oh hey martin! Again you ve done an amazing job on the airport foam tender like you did on the dinky leyland tipper a few weeks back the same model i have remember i told you with the combine alongside?? Well would you believe i have 4 of these corgi fire tenders and 3 are like new and the 4th one ive got it out of its beaten state but none work with a battery fitted to spread the water foam im not worried about that anyway and i have them all numbered and stickered up from manchester Airport they really do look good and your yellow one well done great job...chris...
Hi Chris wow that sounds nice all numbered up very cool .
All the best Martin 👍
Cool work as always! I wonder if there will be model airplanes?
Thanks very much. I do have some aircraft to do at some point all the best Martin
@@martindaredare Will wait
I thought these were just generic castings, never knew they were based on real one's.What i don't get,is,if the real one's were yellow, why did Corgi make the main lot red?Anyway, nice resto, even though it's a bit gimmickey with the water canon part.
Cheers Terry, maybe something to do with licensing iam not Shaw.
The model does lack some details that were on the original ie low down Warter or foam jets ,front bull bar ,and the horns were on the side near the front not on the roof.
All the best Martin
Electronics and water are not a good mix! how did it work with the water when they were new? Did it have a blub or something? How come you did not put the other stickeers on the sides, the ones the say Airport Fire Brigade Pathfinder.
Hi Mike yes it had a bulb that was attached at the back , I didn't put the stickers on the side because the one I was depicting was one of the six corgi did for chubb. Which didn't have the side decals.
All the best Martin
Loads better. Top job as usual mate .👍🇬🇧
Thanks very much my friend its really appreciated 👍
