Y2K won this by far😂 sure he got taken to the ground a decent amount of times by no damage was done and he had A+ defense at all times and got out of every takedown. Out striked him too

In my eyes Y2K won this! He was close to ending the fight many times. Sure the other dude had more control, but he wasn’t even trying to finish it, just hold your position and control!
They need to change the scoring criteria or it will just be a wrestling match.
If the fight had no rounds mangat would be in his back for as long as he wanted to and eventually y2k would get tired. Y2K was literally saved by the bell all fight long
@@migueltigrelazo he was litteraly able to get to his feet at the end of the first 2 rounds and he was able to push off the 3rd how is that saved by the bell not one submission was even close this isn't point based jits you shouldn't win for back control that you cant utilise and lose eventually

@@hoopfans101 Dude i agree it wasn't cuddling, but there was no point in which having Y2K on the ground gave Mangat more opportunity to himself. The fact that he decreased his takedown fight confirms that the elbows to the face had an effect on him. the judges should be banned from the sport, it was total robbery. the fact that they gave Mangat the win encourages idiots to run into the ring and think that Y2K wouldn't have punched or kicked someones brain into concussion status. Mangat has a tough chin and good heart, he also threw some good counters but Y2K was also tough. your analysis is poor.
even on the ground y2k did the most damage, on feet the most damage, only flaw was the takedowns this is a complete robbery

I hit you 15x clean, significant shots and have you backing up. You took me down 3times but did no dmg.
I could have ring control, cage control, and be lighting you up at will but at what point do the takedown count more if you're not ground n pounding, or actively getting a sub attempt.
He's getting positions all day but no sub attempts...at what point was he close to finish the fight? Never. But he was wobbled several times. So he wins.

@@damienthetexasian6827 takedowns count for more because of control time if I take you down for 5 mins but don’t do anything it still counts a lot because o me the “control time” because I effectively stopped you from getting up or securing a dominant position on the ground

I'm a fan of the one rules but they need to, also look if the fighter actually does something with the takedown I agree .
The ufc changed that back in the days they use to also have this problem a fighter gets beaten up but wins because off 2 takedowns .
Now the rule is you have to at least, have dominant ground control or active gnp sub attempt.

Great fight and they should give these type of fighters a extra round because I really felt like it was a draw between these two and they were not finished. I love the way they both fight and hopefully they get more matches in MMA.

Only bad part about mma is you don’t have to fight or be a fighter. Just train wrestling and you can hold your way to a championship unfortunately. Give y2k a striker/ real fighter

Y2k is excellent striker but his style is just bad for mma ,he likes to wind up everything he does , that is great for pure striking but for mma it makes him flat-footed and predictable plus he leaves huge gaps when kicking and punching a good wrestler or grappler wil take advantage of that

Y2K had landed some good damaging strikes, but couldn't finish it. Mangat dominated the ground, but couldn't get the choke. Should have been a draw; split decision is really just to force a winner and loser.
Dominating on the ground? Even Y2K did more damage on ground while defending

Mangat had excellent ground control in the first and second rounds. Y2K was mostly dominant in the third round since they were standing up. I was rooting for Y2K, but in this case, I agree with the judges.
They give score on take down that's how he won
Ask not why he is won, but ask how he is won.

He can not do anything about it because mangat has control over him. That is why he clearly won the fight. Dominance trumps everything. If it were a one on one street fight , being on the back means the end of the person life

mixed martial arts, fair enough, but you'd think you'd have to do some damage to win the fight. not just hug someone from behind for two minutes every round.. i respect wrestling/grappling as a part of the game, but need to be scored differently.

Throw out the two judges for stealing Y2K's obvious win. Scoring on control without a submission is ALWAYS weaker than scoring on clear strikes to the head and body.
Both fighters are good, but y2k dealt a lot more damage and even when he was almost in a choke, he came out and gave good elbow damage. For me, Y2k won

a fight should be scored on damage. Mangat got rocked multiple times and inflicted 0 damage on Y2K.
Not how MMA scoring works. There’s more criteria than just damage that’s not even something you calculate a lot of the times. A fighter can land 10 significant strikes that do more damage than an opponent who landed 30 strikes.
@@User61918 I said "should". If. a guy gets taken down 5 times and gets right back up and then breaks his opponents nose who really won and lost there. People put too much into takedowns. imo should have the same value as a single jab if its a takedown only and the other guys just stand right back up.

Mangat's punches are not that strong..he just keeps flipping his arms around the whole time disrutping the opponent's concentration and throws in a few punches here and there
