Resistance 2 ending did have a logic in it and it fitted in the timeline of the game. Dunno why they didnt like it, imo hale in RE 3 surviving everything up until now would make him too much of a one man army and a godlike surviving everything. There was a countdown and he ignored it only to destroy the chimera and so the cosequence was that he must have turned into 'Daedalus like' or be killed while he had human looks. He wouldnt like to be a chimera to 100% and capelli did a favour to him.

To be honest, I liked the Bioshock ending.
Bioshock and borderlands were good endings. Mass effect and half life had good endings as well, they were just left off at a cliff hanger that will just probably never be continued

Reno Black I love biochock, but I might not play the second time because the first time I played, it scared the hell out of me lol. Only managed to played it once, but still one of the best game settings I ever experienced. The ending was really nice in my opinion

The worst ending EVER, that i've seen in a video game, was The Last of Us.
We do countless hours of journeying and endure pretty hardcore deaths of players we love, just to find that Joel becomes a complete psycho and the world is still going to fall to shit; because he chooses Ellie over the survival of the human race!!! xD we didn't even get to choose!
Wowowowow, yes it does make you uncomfortable but it wasn't shitty. Imo Joels (and mine, I would have saved her too) selfishness made the whole game a lot better since it doesn't follow the usual cliche.
hl2 was the worst, because they made the game hl2 episode 1 , hl2, and hl2 episode 2. they all were part of half life 2, and the endings were horrible.

There was no guarantee that the fireflys could find a cure from Ellie's brain. Joel didn't want to take the chance she would die for nothing. He wasn't going to lose another young girl like his daughter.

I also thought Infinite had a bad ending, but once you play the Burial At Sea DLC, you realize it's somewhat of a preface to explain how *SPOILER ALERT* Booker is Comstock and Elizabeth is Anna. Once you play the DLC, it has a much better ending that ties Infinite in with the first Bioshock, tying together all the loose ends.

The endings for Bioshock, Halo 2, Mass Effect 3 and Knights of the Old Republic were good so I have no idea what you were on when you made this video.
Most people, didn’t like Mass Effect 3’s three different endings, cuz it ignores the two main themes of the series, only one thing, is truly different about the three different endings, it’s why The Indoctrination Theory exists and why the DLC exists.

Halo 2's cliffhanger ending made Halo 3's beginning fantastically satisfying. That was the point. Halo tells a rich intricate story line. They don't want the player to be satisfied and know all there is to know just by playing the first 2 installments.

Yes I mean a destroyed nexus being the ending. And it's the absolute worst because it's typically because you were against an unbanned Ekko, had afkers/feeders, or just had stupid teammates who refuse to push objectives while you were trying to absolute best and pinging and doing everything in your power to win.
OR, and even worse, you were doing so well and mid way through the game or at late game your team either has a dc, gets noob baited at baron, misses the dragons, or some other element that should just not have happened.

Honestly, I feel like the reason people don't like the ending is because Shepard died (but you can make him live). The ending was pretty good I think and Shepard dying? Well, they wanted to tie up all loose ends and make sure people knew this was the end of the trilogy (except for that chest rising scene, GOD DAMMIT!), unlike games such as Halo and Call of Duty. So, I prefer that: let the game die gracefully, or put it 10 feet under and keep stabbing it until fifteen spin-offs, a movie, and whole bunch of shitty merchandise is sold. My ten cents right there.

In the bigger scheme of things, it really does. You either destroy the reapers, control the reapers, or synthesis. The only reason people didn't think it could make a difference, or what I think, is because you couldn't play past it and see all of the differences first hand like you did with the first two games.
Make sure you update this and put The Last of Us Part 2 on top of this :))

I liked the Halo 2 ending, yea it was a cliff hanger but it only got us excited for Halo 3. Halo 5 on the other hand should be number 1 on this list.

+toonces4x Halo 2 ending was not good. I am a huge Halo fanboy but that ending sucked. Sure it got you excited till you realize cliffhangers suck and you had to wait 3 years for it. It was not even a good cliffhanger. One-liners by all characters and then black-fade.

Bioshock shouldn't be on this list. The good ending is one of my favorite endings in video game history. The bad ending is OK, but that's the ending you get if you harvest the little sisters instead of saving them. Lists like this one are more of an opinion type thing.
Brandon Elledge Completely agree with this. Not only is the good ending very satisfying but it is done in a highly artistic style in agreement with the perspective of the rest of the game. Very clever, in my opinion.

+Brandon Elledge I loved the Ending of Bioshock, Ryan dies, Atlas / Frank dies, Doctor Tannenbaum makes up for her sins, Jack gets the life and family he was deprived of, and the Little Sisters get the loving father they deserved by simple divine right.
Also at the end of Bioshock 2 the plasma for the Human Spirit is found just like Doctor Tannenbaum thought it could be, but not in Jack, instead in the DNA of Subject Delta the greatest hero of Bioshock.
Every time I played BioShock, I could not go the evil route.
The ending of KOTOR 2 is the way it is because LucasArt rushed Obsidian to get the game out by Christmas, resulting in alot of content that was dummied out. Obsidian wanted to release the cut content as a patch, but LucasArt, for reasons we still don't know, refused to let them.
Several mods piecing together this cut content were made, but never completed for different reasons. A restoration mod was finally released a few years back, thus finally making pretty much everything make sense.
The Bioshock ending was great and the good one was even a bit sad. Every Bioshock ending is perfect and none of them is bad!

BioShocks ending is one of if not THE most brilliant and satisfying endings ever.
The twist was good. Pretty much everything after that was an obvious sign of being rushed. The level design was worse. The ending was sub-par. The Big Daddy section was incredibly tedious and annoying. The game overall was great, but everything after the twist was poorly done. Even the devs admit this.

Rage wasn't a very good game in general, but the ending was absolute shit, you think ok I beat some waves of enemeys and turned on the machine time for the final boss fight and a cool ending but nope the fucking credits roll and your left wondering why the fuck you played this game.

Ok really? WatchMojo does NOT do their research. Heck they don't even use common sense. Halo 2 is a cliffhanger... Duh... Gee I wonder why? Maybe because there's another game after it! Halo 3 anyone? That's like saying the end of the Star Wars Episode 4 is awful because not everything gets summed up. There's more to the story. And the fact that the final mission is an Arbiter mission should have no effect on the ending to the game. Yeah I'm a fan of Halo and that's why I'm posting this but it really applies to everything. If they claim an ending is bad because it's a cliffhanger, then they have no room to rank endings of games.

At the time there was a huge backlash from fans over the ending of Halo 2, not as big as ME3 but was still pretty big, because people didn't know when exactly when or IF another game was coming out. It was still an unsatisfying ending, nobody was happy when they finished it because of all the unanswered questions. You need to consider when the game actually came out, not playing it now knowing there are more games.

True I am using hindsight. But that doesn't really play into WatchMojo not doing research. That was meant more generally. I spoke about this example just because I've seen it so many times before and felt it needed to be said. So the hindsight wasn't intended to be connected to the not doing research. Sorry if that was misunderstood. What I meant was there have been many times where WatchMojo has been slightly off or wrong about things. That's all.

Bioshocks ending was fantastic.I couldn't understand why people were annoyed that killing Ryan wasent the ending. Personally I preferred the ending where it turned out you gave the Little sisters a future and all of the children that suffered in rapture ending up like one big family including the main character.

Assassin's Creed 1. It wasn't even a cliff-hanger because there wasn't a cliff to hang on to, the game just stopped. You're told you're in trouble, you go back to your room, you see some creepy shit on the walls, and Desmond says "...what?" -and then the credits come up.
That's the ending. Desmond saying "What?" Brilliant. 4 stars. A+. 5 stars.

Perhaps you didn't talk with Lucy enough/interact with the present world enough to gain insight on the shit happening around you. talking to her/eavesdropping on them eventually nets you the code to your bedroom door, then her pen drive to access her PC, then Vidic's pen drive and finally she reveals herself as an assassin to you.

Oh no, ive been through a playthrough with a close friend of mine from start to finish bioshock infinite. i can just tell its good, and having been through that, i can easily see the amount of creativity. HOW good it is, will have to wait tilli i play a game myself though :P

Yeah, i thought that ending was a bit stupid for such a great franchise (I mean Desmond's story), but YO!.... Did anyone really liked Desmond? After all, he was a bit of an as*hole!
Straight Busta! I never really liked Desmond, but I was interested in the modern day story. ACIII just completely cocked it up by pushing the Templars to one side, killing off Vidic and Cross in the most disappointing way possible and worse, the whole modern day story turned out to be WAY less interesting than previous games made it out to be. Still better than the ME3 ending, I guess.
Because Assassins creed Desmond story was horrible from the start.nobody with good taste cared how it ended and wasn't surprised that it made no sense.

I honestly have to admit I liked Mass Effect 3’s endings. I kinda understand why people think they are horrible but I see it more like: we can’t ALWAYS have the happy ending and these, for not being happy endings, are pretty good. By the way your choices still count(If you romanced someone you can still survive and if not it’s not like the memories of you get removed from your lover’s brain; If you cure the genophage it will still be cured; if you made peace between the geth and quarian, in case you don’t choose the Destroy option, they will still be in peace and so on. And for all the people baby raging for the destruction of Edi and the geth in the destroy option(which I still think is the best one) stop saying that it doesn’t make sense... the game even explains it. Yeah I was sad too but I was like: Well at least the reapers are dead and Shepard can live with his/her Love interest. Anyways the game gives almost no answers to what happens after because they probably wanted people to have their own canon events(I hope for example that Edi and the Geth can be rebuilt even if I think the last ones will not be recreated to not have other POSSIBLE problems) but someone might think that Edi and Geth cannot be rebuilt since they were targeted for the reaper codes that they got to become full AIs and some others may think that the “bodies” can be rebuilt but the “entity” (Edi, geth) will not have their memories as Artificial Intelligences since they got them after acquiring the reaper codes

Alp Karakaya reason why I said shitty is because ....for 5 games you been training to be a master assassin. You armed the knowledge of Altair you armed self with the ablity of ezio and the sense of conner, and you just touch a disco ball and died.
I believe that for assassin creed 3 for the "grand temple" they been preaching they should make it hard to climb or a maze farther than what Altair can do or ezio even conner. I just felt it was a waste of time to train to be the master assassin and just fry.

It wasnt a worst ending....you knew his time was up 65 years old and doing what he has to go through from the time he was 17 until now, you knew it was his body catching up to him. For people who think he was poison...thats on them...i just feel he died in peace looking at his wife and daughter

Are you kidding me? Only a few of these had genuinely bad endings. BioShock, Borderlands, Sunshine (of which shouldn't be taken seriously), and several more were fine.

I don't know why you said Halo 2 had "An Arbiter Ending" with such disgust. Arbiter levels were WAY better than the more generic Master Queef levels. Plus Arbiter is awesome.
It was a terrible ending. He said "an arbiter ending" cuz it didn't end with Master Chief (THE MAIN CHARACTER). The ending was obviously terrible and wasn't satisfying.
Monokuma Kun Nah, that ending was awesome. Without the cliff hanger Halo 3 wouldn't be as needed. And they might not have made it.
Ethan Lang The ending was terrible. Bungie made Halo 3 because they couldn't finish the Halo 2 story before running out of time/resources. They could have ended Halo 2 without a cliffhanger and still have Halo 3.
Monokuma Kun No, originally Halo was gonna be a 1 game deal, but it was succesful so they decided to make a trilogy. Almost EVERY SINGLE TRILOGY IN EXSISTENCE has a cliff hanger at the end. The second movie/game whatever is always to set it up for the THIRD EPIC SEQUEL.
Ethan Lang No. Halo CE was made and it was successful so they went to make a second game. During development they realized they couldn't finish the story in the second game and left it on a cliffhanger (which wasn't necessary). Unlike you I actually play and follow these games and that's backed up by the fact that Bungie said it themselves

Bioshock Infinite's ending made me return the game the next day after I beat it. I beat it about 7 hours after I got it.

Here’s a personal opinion; as a Halo fan, I feel like Halo 5 maybe could have been an honorable mention. As a COD fan, I feel like COD Ghosts and COD BO3 should’ve been in the top five.

It was a seriously a sad ending in bioshock 1 and 2 but what was weird in number three is that it never said you came out of the suit in number 3 at this point i dont even know any more
Bruh the Bioshock ending makes the player realize that you actually had no choice. You can think you're making your own decisions but are actually following orders the whole time, illusion of choice.
I remember beating Halo 2 for the first time with a buddy of mine.. The screen went black and we prepared for the next level. There was no next level. We yelled at the TV for about 20 minutes.
It was a 2nd entry in a trilogy you low IQ buffoon.
Why the hell are Resistance 2 and Bioshock on here? Just because something is sad or dark doesn't make it bad AT ALL, and the "good" moral choice ending of Bioshock has some emotional merit.
