Gambits of horses in Xiangqi aren't a thing until the 7th or 8th move for one side as I observe myself. And you may have seen the notorious Pawn gambit of Black in the pawn opening (1 P7+1 P3+1 2...). And nowadays people even plays the same gambit for Red in *Pawn vs pawn opening* (1 P7+1 P7+1 2 P3+1 ...) But gambits aren't suitable for slow chess tournaments nowadays...
