You bad all bad
Thank You)
why don't you say "xiang qi" correctly? your pronunciation is off. are you cantonese maybe? I know cantonese speakers have some issues pronouncing words in mandarin
Thank you for your feedback! We will pay attention to the pronunciation of xiangqi and strive to do better! 😊
What the fuck I can't even recognize the simple step I'm so dumb I swear
Wonderful. Thank you
I would love to watch your videos if they would have real xiangqi pieces. Nobody plays on those in tournaments or even at the parks.
Thank you for your feedback. Our videos aim to promote Xiangqi to non-Chinese audiences, so the graphical pieces will help them understand better.
@XiangqiChineseChess I'm not Chinese, so I don't really understand where you got that information. By the way in Europe there are more non-japanese shogi players that you have in NCNV players in xiangqi, and shogi is not played on graphical pieces. It seems to me you are feeding the watchers a lie, but feel free to prove me wrong and show me where in the world they use those pieces.
Thank you for your help)

At 7:28 wouldn’t it be better to move the cannon to defend the horse? Then force meng to play defense, just curious.
It might have a defensive hole but I don’t see any atm
Nvm, sometimes patience is the key 🫡
Red is waiting for the next move. If red go for C1=3, black will E7+9, actually will slow red down, make red in a worse position.
@@XiangqiChineseChessahh I see now, thanks for the insight.
Can you make videos like GothamChess?
Thank you for your feedback. Currently, we are focusing on the development of Xiangqi.com, but once we have enough resources, we will create better videos.
车 could have easily killed 帅
Sure thing I’ll try to win
Hmm What If Chess combines With Xiangqi I Think It Will Be Chesgqi😂😂😂😂
do you sell Chinese chess software ???
No, we don't sell Xiangqi software. You can use our "analysis" or "review" feature to analysis the best move
The way I see it, the draw rate for Xiangqi would be a lot higher in the beginner’s level of play due to the fact that both players would be unable to know how to win the game. I’d like to know what everyone thinks about this analysis.
The draw rate is actually lower in Xiangqi because it is easier to attack and checkmate
Can you please make a tutorial video about basic endgames?
Good Idea!
I learned from this video that the red chariot (3rd move) moved to B4 to attack the less developed (weaker?) side of black. I always wondered by this lopsided approach and I see now how powerful that can be. In that retrospect, I wonder how black might have done if he had used his J6 advisor to guard his cannot instead of J4. In terms of "blunder", I think black capturing of red horse gave red chariot a great momentum in attack. Moving back to F might be an option because if red chariot captures black horse, black horse can capture red cannon and earn a big respite and the chance of a discovered check.
The sharing of this type of game is merely intended as inspiration for attacking strategies. In actual games, as the black side, there will be different options throughout the middle game.
Red or black question: I will pick red because a) If there is a cannon exchange, my soldier is in the middle while black soldier is at a corner. b) If there is a cannon to cannon exchange, red other cannon can attack file 7 soldier strongly. Question 1: Maybe move up the advisor as a sacrifice? Question 2: If red Cannon goes down file J to check, black has only 1 move; that is use elephant to block, in that case black cannot cannot take back if red horse captures the black horse. Red advisor is there to protect red King from check.
I.will.try.to.test it against my chinese comrades
Isn’t he got lifetime ban from every tournaments due to bribery and cheating too many times?
I think black moving the cannon to the rib file is a mistake. Should have moved the horse behind the soldier and then moved the left chariot one step upward to prevent the red chariot from moving up to the black rib file.
The cannon move to the rib file is ok. The mistake is the black allow the two cannon capture the black middle pawn.
He just received a lifetime ban from tournaments due to match fixing bribery and got his grandmaster title revoked. He supposedly made over 100k USD that way
Change to symbol of the Chariot to a Wheel instead of the Western "Rook". Nobody in the Western world can explain why a "Castle" is a "Rook", or what "Rook' means. Chariot as in the original Chaturanga. 車 That is a gyph of a chairot. 2 wheels, an axle, and a box.
Nawwwww meng got owned
Nice
How do i change my rating on the site?
When you select a rank during registration, your initial score will be set.
相弈象棋 Semantic translation: Play the strategy game of Chinese Chess together.
Words don't come easy to me How can I find a way to make you see I love you? Words don't come easy F.R. David
By the way, 兵 = soldier 廾 2 hands holding an axe 斤. 卒 = "infantry", a bust of a helmet and the symmetry of a uniform. Soldiers in armor and uniforms on one side and axe wielding warriors on the other side is the opening battle of the movie Gladiator. I know my stuff.
That is just used for sound. 相弈 has no meaning. Unless cassette tapes of Hooked on Phonics corrupted your language.
相弈 stands for “互相对弈”, which means play Xiangqi together.
@@XiangqiChineseChess Cogitating . . . Sino-Vietnamese 互相 = hỗ tương = lẫn nhau = to each other, together, mutual 對 [traditional form] = đối = oppose, against 弈 = colloquially translated as "Chess", original meaning is "Go". I'll call it a "strategy game". 互相对弈 ≈ play a strategy game against each other, together.
Cogitating (that's what Chessmaster 3000 would say). I got it. 相弈象棋 Xiang Yi Xiangqi Xiang Yi 象棋 Xiang Yi is just your name brand. That is just used for sound. 相弈 has no meaning. You should adopt the Japanese style of language and use a different script for only sound. Xiang Yi 象棋
棋 = game Etymology 木 = tree = wood wood pusher = chess player, American slang as in 象棋 = Elephant Game, Chinese Chess 圍棋 = Go, The Surrounding 囗 Game 五子棋 = Gomoku, Five Pieces Game 将棋 = Shogi, Japanese Chess, The Game of the General, The Game of the Shogun 将軍 将 is the variant of 將, which is the General in Chinese Chess. In Vietnamese, Chinese chess and Western chess are called respectively 將棋 = cờ tướng = The Game of the General 王棋 = cờ vua = The Game of the King Korean Chess = Janggi = 將棋 = same as Japanese and Vietnamese. Isn't that something? The most logical name for Chinese Chess is 將棋, The Game of the General, 將 the central piece of the game, which is in Vietnamese, Japanese, and Korean but not Chinese because 象棋 = Elephant Game tells you it's from India!
弈 etymology 廾 = 2 hands as in 兵 = soldier 廾 2 hands holding an axe 斤. 弈 means Go (The Surrounding Game). wiktionary "Hand Talk" is a nickname for Go. You "talk" with your hands. In boxing, they say, "My hands do the talking". HandTalk: Game of Go is a computer program (an app) you can buy from the App Store for $0.99 USD. 弈 means Go, not Chess. in its etymology. Lost in the translation from Chinese to English, Go can be translated as "Chess", and it can be re-imported back to China. Oh, I'm deep into this [bleep].
I will be [bleep] deep into this [bleep]. Because truth in naming is the most important thing.
This is one of the early stage brutal move. If you really got tricked into this, it is very ashame to lose by it fr. Tricky move and good for early games but end game is bad.
I wish you had used a genuine Chinese chess set with the traditional characters. It's helpful for those of us who can or are learning to read Chinese or Japanese to be able to read the characters on the chess pieces.
But it’s also has the same move as chaturanga's counselor piece
Yes, they share a few similarities!
its from there, the advisor and elephants were probably added in the Song dynasty
What if the C2 cannon goes up to D2? Could it threaten the black cannon?
It is a good question. Red Cannon move from C2 to D2 will only protect the middle pawn, it will not threaten any pieces.
@@XiangqiChineseChess I see, thank you for the explanation 🙏
i alredy know how to play!
Why is the graphic piece of the advisor so weird.(I play xiangqi)
What makes you think it is weird?
Amazing explanation! Thank you
i play shogi and chess and this video makes me wanna learn xiangqi too 😭
U should explain how u can punish the opponent when they capture free soldier, why no one comment btw lol.
Thanks for the advice!
great insight for new players ❤
Qingyi Horse & Cannon
Xiangqi looks like so much fun. The way how the pieces are designed to move and interact with each other proposes a lot of interesting strategic opportunities as well as allows more personal skill expression. I would love to learn how to play
Thank you for the guide on how to play!
Why is the letter "K" used for general and not "G"?
Sometimes, the commander (帅) is referred to as "King" instead of "General", so we will use "K" to represent it. Additionally, in some regions and cultures, players may refer to their commander as "General". This terminology varies depending on the region and culture.
But still you’re like 4 pawns down so….eh
Yes, Red lost four pawns, but in Xiangqi, faster piece development is more advantageous for the middle game.
Instructive video i was wondering like “hey isn’t it easy to attack this unprotected pawns” and yeah it is but it’s not good per se which is interesting.
