Most INNOVATIVE Monopod?! YC Onion Pineta VS. iFootage Cobra 2 Review

- It's not every day that you see a truly innovative product in the videography and photography space, and it certainly isn't every day when that product happens to be a monopod. But in the case of the YC Onion Pineta MQC145, this just might be one of those rare unicorns.
In this video, I'll discuss the YC Onion Pineta carbon fiber monopod, and go over its many specifications and features that the monopod contains, and the numerous accessories it comes with. I'll also cover many of its key features that make the monopod stand out from its competition, including the FEISO Release System (FRS), its included FH60 fluid video head, and the stability of this monopod in real-world usage situations like weddings.
But, how exactly does this monopod stack up against the competition? To judge this, I'll compare the Pineta to the iFootage Cobra C180-II, which has been my main monopod choice for a number of years, and discuss feature-for-feature how each of these monopods stack up against one another. Last, I'll compare the price and options between the YC Onion Pineta and iFootage Cobra 2, and offer my final thoughts on which monopod takes the crown.

The new improvements of the cobra 3 make this an even harder choice. The updates are quite compelling.

I bought the YC Onion Pineta last year. Very well made. Unfortunately haven't used it much, 2-3 times. Bit of a regret purchase.
Buying a tripod and a fold-up tripod dolly were much more used purchases.

No problem, everyone has different shooting styles and preferences - monopods have their pros and cons.
Vidpro MP-66 monopod has one hand release feature at $99. That was the only monopod I could find with one-touch release. Happy to see YC Onion Pineta. It looks sturdier than Vidpro.
Can't say I'm familiar with that model, but the Pineta is definitely stable/sturdy compared to other models.
I have the cobra 2 feet and haven't bought the next section yet. the fitting looks the same. so are they interchangeable?
Interchangeable between the Cobra 2 and the Pineta, you mean? I did check and they're proprietary fittings/mechanisms, so you can't use one brand's monopod post with the other's feet, or vice versa.
