Sweet video, Zac. Rolfe is undeniably one of the most influential creators on TH-cam. Even after 15 years, he is still going. Sure, he's older, but the passion is still there. With each new episode, he upped the ante, giving performances that would catch anyone's eye. That anger was genuine at times, giving catharsis for that one BS level or boss that kept us up at night, as we swore under our breath while trying to beat it. I would say that his newest stuff, while having some edges from earlier years sanded down, still feels like the Nerd we grew up with. He just grew up alongside us. On top of all that, Rolfe has shown to be a cool dude behind the scenes, and I am glad that he still has that passion after all these years.
I genuinely love the AVGN. It’s kind of embarrassing, but in his recent contra video I cried at the end. Not only is he funny as hell, but he also has a true passion that shines through all of his work!
ENGAGE THE ALGORITHM also I found James from his original Ghostbusters video, I was inspired by him for his campy style, and I think that influence is still strong to this day. There is this unique internet-ness with his work that makes it very relatable and enjoyable. Though I still think his best pieces of entertainment would go to Board James, Dream Phone is definitely one of his greatest wors.
Dude, you need to get a hold of the GTA for Nintendo DS. It's a really good game, and pretty obscure. Great video, by the way, a little upset you didn't mention the AVGN video games, which are also worth a purchase.
This is why I love your videos. Sorry to bring this up again, but before you plan to do a retrospective on Steve Suptic’s wild adventure can I give you a list of things to analyse just in case?
@@zacquinn oh thank you! 1. How there was foreshadowing that the series it was more than just a mindless comedy like the traveller’s story of Admin & Eve, or they “accidentally” left Vince behind 2. How the story subverts the heroes journey trope by calling out Steve for not thinking about how his adventure is affecting the others. 3. How there’s subtle hints that the idiot king isn’t the real leader of North Haven and the second in command Baltor is the one who’s truly pulling the strings e.g. the soldier in episode 11 mentions a soon as Baltor came books and libraries were forbidden and he commands a soldier to shoot Whitty. 4. Do an analysis of the Season 3 trailer: how great the music is, the sad imagery and the text that appears at the start and at the end which asks an interesting question. 5. Finally, maybe make a few theories on how the story would’ve gone if it had continued.
@@zacquinn Sorry if that’s a lot, it’s just no one in the whole of TH-cam seems to remember this and when I saw your Noob Adventures retrospective I just had to ask you.
I was 13 years old when I first saw James video's (Nightmare on Elm Street) I liked the basic Nerd personality. Him swearing like a sailor, expressing his detest for shitty games on fundamental levels. With each one upping the quality and structure. Like his Bugs Bunny, Star Trek, Texas Chainsaw etc experimenting and having a lot of fun. Especially in some BTS of the videos. The Nerd was some foundation of what I've always wanted to do. Fun, creative and engaging content and not just simple reviews of video games.

Great video Irish man or should I say the gta fan boy
Great video Mr Quinn. AVGN is definitely the most iconic internet reviewer and I am glad he's still making content even now.
