    You`ve done it again Kevin, Longish video, but great watching you carve Mr Claus and his bag of presumably toys!!! You don`t draw many lines but the ones you do are most useful to us lesser carvers, by the way the knife I was making from a chisel needs more profiling to make it thinner although sharp it does not perform like your boning knife, so trying again. Santa rules ok!!! regards from John.

      Thanks John. I’ll keep that in mind about the lines. Little more grinding

    Just rewatching some of your amazing videos. Question: Is that an old pine or cedar fence post your carving on. Looks a lot tougher than the usual basswood. Cheers!

      It's pine I use. Some is not that great

    Eventho the asmr and silent videos are trending it would also be noice if u talk as u go along. I’d like to kno about the wood and your blades as well as some of the techniques and strategies along with your procedure 👍🏾💯

      @@KevinCoates98 it’s ok maybe just try it one day. Practice before you actually upload video. Your work is already high quality professional and your videos are soothing with the sounds of the blades going thru the wood. I’m quite sure people wouldn’t mind hearing your voice along with that 🤷🏽‍♂️

    Hi Kevin. Brilliant work again. Do you have a book or CD published. I really enjoy your style and your ability to do with a big knife what most of us can’t do with a standard carving knife. Thank you for sharing.

    Do you have any videos on sharpening your carving knife? I can’t get mine sharp enough for the life of me, to make cuts without it more or less just breaking the fibers.

    • @KevinCoates98
      @KevinCoates98  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did a video late spring, early summer. My method may not appeal to everyone. It’s just the way I do it and it works for me. Sharpening a knife takes practice just the same as carving do

    What gouge is that? Size and maker?

    • @KevinCoates98
      @KevinCoates98  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I really don’t know the size. I used two different ones there. A straight gouge and a fishtail. The maker is walnut hollow. It’s a little set of six I bought about 20yrs ago when I start carving first.
