To this day, only “I Like it Rough” has not been performed live. And “Summerboy” and “Disco Heaven” were only performed once back in 2007 prior to her fame and are overdo for a return to her set lists. :) “Summerboy” was meant to be a take on Blondie’s music, so I’m really happy it ended up being your favorite because I love it and Blondie so much as well! Fade outs were actually very common in the 2000’s especially for debut albums. It’s more of a psychological thing then just a style thing. When you have a fade out on a song that is very strong with a repeating chorus it has a strong effect on the listener. Unlike songs with an actual finish, if we hear a faded out chorus psychology in our mind the song doesn’t stop it just gets quiet. So the goal is even after the song is finished you remember it or it “keeps going” in your head. It’s the exact goal they want especially back when radio was huge and you needed to remember that song for when you got home. There’s so many little details that have to work in order to have an effective fade out and there’s actually been MANY studies on the art of fade outs!

I love Disco Heaven so much! And what i like the most is that it shows Gaga always was in that "I'm gonna mispronounce some words to create another layer to the song" kinda vibe, so at some point of the song she just goes "disco heaven" to "disco have fun" and it's so lovely! She do the same in Chromatica too with "Babylon" to "babble on", also in ARTPOP's G.U.Y. and a lot of other songs. 💜

The Fame was her debut album. The Fame Monster was innitially planned to be a re-release but because it had 8 new songs (practically a whole new album) it became available for purchase also on its own and even qualified for the Grammys on its own... It ended up having its on era and its own tour. In some Countries it charted seperately and in others it was lumped together I can see why it's confusing. But point blank it was supposed to be a re-release but it ended up in the end getting treated like its own album and era of that makes sense.
The Fame Monster is simply an extension of The Fame with additional songs. Around that time, a lot of artists were rereleasing albums with additional tracks because of the positive traction the albums were getting and also a way to keep the artists and albums relevant and “in the game.” You could consider them two separate albums, I do, but you could also see them as the “same” album with two different rollouts since the fame monster is an extension of the fame.
The Fame is an album and The Fame Monster is an EP, but the main diference is not in the music but in Gaga's style. In The Fame era she was different from other artists but she was recognizable (hair bow, sunglasses, bangs, black or white dresses). In The Fame Monster era she crossed all the limits of the moment, starting with the bleeding at the 2009 VMAs and ending with the meat dress, she delivered the craziest performances inside and outside the stage. Very weird to hear Disco Heaven as the last track since the CD ends with Summerboy. If I remember correctly, it was released as a bonus track in certain countries and later got included with the "deluxe" version of the album.

FYI, fade outs are common and have been around for decades. They’re designed to allow radio DJs to talk over the end of the song. Back in the day (Im old) DJs would announce the song title and artist, which they rarely do now. Love your reactions! Keep em coming.

The Fame was her debut album. The Fame Monster was innitially planned to be a re-release but because it had 8 new songs (practically a whole new album) it became available for purchase also on its own and even qualified for the Grammys on its own...
It ended up having its on era and its own tour. In some Countries it charted seperately and in others it was lumped together
I can see why it's confusing. But point blank it was supposed to be a re-release but it ended up in the end getting treated like its own album and era of that makes sense.
The Fame Monster is simply an extension of The Fame with additional songs. Around that time, a lot of artists were rereleasing albums with additional tracks because of the positive traction the albums were getting and also a way to keep the artists and albums relevant and “in the game.” You could consider them two separate albums, I do, but you could also see them as the “same” album with two different rollouts since the fame monster is an extension of the fame.

The Fame is an album and The Fame Monster is an EP, but the main diference is not in the music but in Gaga's style. In The Fame era she was different from other artists but she was recognizable (hair bow, sunglasses, bangs, black or white dresses). In The Fame Monster era she crossed all the limits of the moment, starting with the bleeding at the 2009 VMAs and ending with the meat dress, she delivered the craziest performances inside and outside the stage. Almost all the female singers started to dress and act different inspired by her. The Fame Monster is the era that ended the 2000s and started the 2010s in the music industry.

The fame monster was an EP she created after the Fame. She is quoted saying that The Fame was a concept album about how society views Fame culture, sex, and love. The Fame Monster was created after she had been touring on The Fame tour where she had encountered “monsters” on the road that took many forms. Each of the 8 songs on The Fame Monster deal with a different ‘monster’, such as on Telephone where she talks about feeling suffocated with attention or on ‘So Happy I Can Die’ where she talks about her struggles with alcoholism.
*The Fame* is the FUN part of being famous. *The Fame Monster* is the DARK side of it. Each song on TFM talks about a “fear”.

Very weird to hear Disco Heaven as the last track since the CD ends with Summerboy. If I remember correctly, it was released as a bonus track in certain countries and later got included with the "deluxe" version of the album.
