    Not every singer takes the time to teach what they've learned and share it in a YT video. Savor this my fellow fans! Rachel Anne Moore is a deeply generous soul.
    Thank you so much Ms.Moore! And am glad to hear you're still have the time for your life playing understudy Carlotta. :)

      Silver54ful Thank you! 🙏 I really feel a responsibility to share the wisdom I have gleaned over the years of study, performance, and travel with the next generation of singers.

    This is so helpful !! I think I'm a coloratura but I've never had any formal vocal training so I always lose my voice after singing. This video has made me reaise that I'm straining too much and 'thickening' the vocal chords as my high notes sound like your 'wrong' example.

      It does sound as if you have been straining, as you say Kirsty. I sing musical theatre and opera, and also soprano coloratura but I never lose my voice, so I would like to ask if you have the breathing techniques properly in place? Presumably you always warm up properly. Also, never try to sing beyond your capabilities, your range and everything else will develop over time when the voice is ready. Good luck.

    Thanks, awsome video. I'd love to hear your opinion on the high velum vs low/neutral velum technique. I've noticed there's like two main approach to classical vocal technique, one of them is making space in the back of the mouth like yawning, and there's the approach where you basically do not make space and you stay more speaky but we good vocal fold closure and even air flow, and you don't try to shut up nasal resonance but you balance it with head and chest.
    P.s. do you have anymore tips on coloratura? I'd like to know exactly what phisiologically happens there in term of the larynx and diaphragm. What can one do to improve the dinstiction or separation of each note like in Handel coloraturas? How to improve the ability to repeat the same vowel rapidly if it's not their best quality?

    Legato and staccato. It’s easy! If you are Italian 🤣 Love your pronunciation

    As the singer having to sing Carlotta of course you want to sing with the right technique. BUT from the story point of view, I actually think this might be what the Phantom would be really mad about, Carlotta trying to sound more dramatic and butchering the coloratura😂

      Jana HK Haha I love that interpretation. I always saw Carlotta as a pushy artist who just kind of does her own thing onstage without regard for correct interpretation or taste. Still a technically sound singer but just a bull in a china shop so to speak in terms of honoring the music. 😂

    What is happening in the diaphragm when you do it the right way is it just same breathing you take one breath and you do all the cuttings or different way

    • @theoperagoddess
      @theoperagoddess  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You do multiple notes on one breath but you use the diaphragm to stop and start the flow of the air.

    not " la Calas..."😅
    Sorry, but i don't care about other singers, every vocal cord is unique!😢 the exercice you choose is not the " easy one...- shouldn't be better Rachmaninof" ( joke)😢😢😢❤
    Baskets of thanks and please what is the difference with mellismas...thank again.
