  • Unreported World journeys into the largely unregulated surrogacy market in Georgia, where wealthy couples can have multiple babies at the same time, and where there is no shortage of vulnerable surrogates to meet the demand.
Sitting on the edge of Europe, Georgia’s surrogacy industry is booming. Prospective parents from around the world are turning to clinics with modest prices to help provide their dream of a family. But does this largely self-regulating industry safeguard the thousands of women who are turning to surrogacy to make a living?

Yes, 21 is a lot, that's not quite normal. As long as she takes a good care of them there is no harm done, maybe kids won't have as much attention of their mother as they should, but it was quite popular in east eu to have more than 8 kids in the past.

Well, they tell you to hold your breath when you push (which actually causes higher likelihood for tears). For those who don’t know, pushing on the abdomen during birth artificially increases the amount of uterine pressure. This is called Uterine Fundal Pressure. Side effects include uterine rupture, postpartum urinary retention, severe perineal trauma and pain, rib fracture, postpartum dyspareunia, and potential neonatal distress or trauma. It may also lead to a higher risk of tearing of the perineum and a prolapsed uterus later in life. The use of fundal pressure is prohibited in the United Kingdom and generally not recommended by many medical facilities and practitioners in the United States.

Sadly surrogacy is like a business deal. The surrogate gets paid for carrying the baby using her womb for rent. Biologically the child is not hers which maybe the reason they take the child away at birth to avoid attachment with the baby which can happen. They should be treated with empathy, support and respect at all times & the parents should be there for the delivery to nurture their baby from the onset. In these case the surrogates are exploited and the babies kept waiting which seems so inhumane. Here in England everything has to be done legally through solicitors. Also the surrogates are vetted to ensure they are mentally stable & not vulnerable or exploited to do this. Both parties must be happy and willing before signing the contract. The surrogates medical & family history is checked thoroughly so she will be refused even if she is fertile. All this costs a lot of money which is why maybe parents desperate for a baby go for the cheaper illegal route.

Any number of animal rescue or farm videos show people lovingly with great warm compassion supporting the mama animal giving birth. The foul people who attended Jana's birth treated her with such brutal contempt that it felt absolutely criminal to me, she is nothing more than a means of money to them. And to witness how the man 'assisted' in bringing the Asian child out brought feelings of hateful rage to my heart; may God forgive me. Unfortunately this is how these women are able to feed themselves. I dont think it’s necessarily abuse. Be mad at the govt for fact that women cant find another way to afford basic necessities

How inhuman & cruel is it? She is in pain & cannot shout or scream during birth? Those women should try giving birth themselves in silence !! Let see if they can do it!

That poor little boy! He's going to have so many attachment issues from being abandoned for so long after his birth.

3:26 This was an excellent question and not at all directly about her husband's possible criminality. The fact that the wife answered so evasively is SUSPICIOUS.
