Good review. I haven't played it in years but I'm pretty sure there are options to adjust the AI btw. If I recall correctly then I think the level of detail allowed for the AI is quite extensive too. Like you can give them a priority list and set conditions on when to execute certain actions. I'd try it again if I were you.
I always enjoy hearing from newcomers to the series, but this is probably the best review I've seen. It's easy to miss a lot of content and context the first time you play the game, but you clearly put a lot of effort into getting to know the characters and the story. The combat is counter-intuitive for modern gamers, but it is actually fantastic as far as strategic gameplay goes. You can control your party and their tactics effectively, it just takes a while to figure out.
I played this so many times on the 360 and I played it once on pc and I never got past the intro because the combat was impossible with mouse and keyboard I hated it so much

Lmao I'm one of those people who played it on nightmare 😂 and I was weak when you were like "shutup" I willingly choose nightmare every single time I play it because I love this game so much and I absolutely love the challenge and while the combat is dog shit I do know how to use it perfectly I know everything possible about this game and how to win it I got all the achievements and its always just a fun game to come back to and its always funny to watch my friends who are new to the game play it and die to the same thing 12 times and be shook beyond belief when I'm able to do that same battle so quickly and easily. 12 years of mastery at this point though. Morrigan and sten are def my fave characters
good video but dude look up a guide or something, and you should use tactics a lot more, the ai isnt that good but with tactics you can really save yourself a lot of headaches. watching this gameplay kinda makes me feel sorry for you lmao. also my favorite color is black

This video took me back when I played it on xbox 360. Thinking back, this is the only Dragon Age game that I only beat once. I didn't own the DLC back then. I hope you play the rest of the trilogy. The gameplay does get better. Have you ever played Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2? imo, it feels like Morrigan attitude and personality is mirrored after one of the characters.

the bossfight you mentioned, you actually propably jsut missed the thing that will dispell any bloodmagic so the boss cant summon more minions

I disagree. DAO is better than DA2 in gameplay and in pretty much every other aspect as well. DA2 was rushed and it shows.
