SM did include a narrative in Black Suit which worked wonders given the disjointed way it was told. Not to mention Peek-A-Boo. But yeah they tend to stick to a bit more muted production.

YES. Finally. It's also a shame because SM really put Sunny on the back burner. Not that Tiffany isn't deserving or isn't a good vocalist, but I always felt and thought that Sunny was better. Or maybe I should say, I preferred her more since they're really about the same in terms of technique/ability. Sunny's voice is so amazing and SM used to showcase the entire vocal line better back in their early debut days. Over the years, Sunny became less of a focus and eventually, it was a TTS show even before Jessica got kicked out.
Would love to see you diving deeper into SNSD, also their japanese albums are really good, sometimes better than the korean albums. Anyway, great video as always man!

I am so happy to see so many commenting on Sunny's voice and vocals. I always have been into Sunny, she is my ultimate bias since I first got into K-Pop. She always was a good vocalist but rarely had the chance to show it, what with the way she is kinda pushed to sing in a cute way. I know there is no way to say for sure it is the case but I think she was. You can for example check out her featuring Miryo's song called "I Love You" to notice how is her "normal" singing tone, and not the cutesy one. She has a deep voice, which is very unique to me.
My very first reaction the day the video dropped was loving getting to see and hear Hyoyeon and Sunny so much more than in any previous comeback. I started listening to kpop just after Gee came out, and that was the song that hinted to me that there might be way more to explore in kpop than I would have guessed, so I have a real soft spot for SNSD and was so nervous for them to come back as 5. But they killed it! And as this video showed, there are even benefits to being just 5: more lines and more screentime for Sunny and Hyoyeon to show how incredible they are. Love it.
GG did a great comeback...people getting shocked with Sunny is sad. She has always had great vocals but she has always been shadowed by Seohyun, Tiffany, Jessica and Taeyeon.
