Probably because that's what they are used to, all of them were gamers and this whole world reminds them of it. So they naturally act like they are in a game. Naofumi was more of a book worm so when he got to this world he started imagining himself as in one of the main characters in those books he read, thinking this was the start of an amazing adventure. What made him see the world differently was actually thanks to Myne or Bitch depending on what you prefer. She shattered his vision of a perfect world to reveal the truth, that he had simply left one unfair cruel world in exchange for another with a whole new lot of problems that come with it. He wasn't pampered and given special treatment like the others, he wasn't worshipped like the others. He quickly dropped the idea of being a hero or even trying to be early on and decided to try and just survive so he can go home one day. Gradually that changed when he met Raphtalia, who became the first person he wanted to protect, and Filo and Melty gave him motivation to protect everyone. Essentially, Naofumi was forced to live as an ordinary person in a flawed world. He became grounded and learned quickly this isn't a game or a fantasy story. His experience of being falsely accused and it's repercussions were the start of his hero's journey which is shown throughout season 1. The other heroes are the exact opposite, treated like gods, worshipped, praised and can't do anything wrong, like they are the protagonists in a game. They want to be the best player and are always competing for the title. The other heroes have yet to go through hardships like Naofumi has or even make strong bonds with the people of this world, and they are much weaker because of this. I love when the shield hero looks likes he's about be crushed under the pressure of the spell but then he's pretty much saved by the little support of his small waifu group.1:19 Also a good example of how the shield hero would have probably been dead without the support of his comrades.

The more I watch this opening, the more I realize how deep the opening actually is, especially in the beginning half. It shows Naofumi and Raphtalia, both knee-deep in water (tragedy), with rain continuing to pour down on them. They are then both submerged in tragedy, as it cuts in gray to each of their individual struggles. Both defeated and sobbing, at the brink of giving up all hope, they reach out. Then, a ray of hope washes it all away as they reach out, find eachother's hands, connect, and save eachother from their despair. That's my interpretation anyways, man I love this opening so much. It really does a good job at emphasizing how important Raphtalia and Naofumi are to eachother, and how much they rely on one another, both physically in battle, and mentally. They saved eachother, and are so much stronger together than they were individually. Had their hands not met, Raphtalia would still be tormneted and shackled physcially, as would Naofumi mentally. Sorry for weebing out, feel free to flame me.
ACTUALLY THOUGH! I'm surprised at how much the anime is invested in the bond and trust between Naofumi and Raphtalia. Which I am super grateful for. I enjoy this much more than pointless fanservice for the sake of shipping or fans or whatever.

Everytime I watch The Rising of the Shield Hero I feel like I love it more... The animation, the characters (even Malty looks nice)... I just love it so much, the way they fight (everyone, not just Naofumi), the way the other characters help Naofumi (just look at the end of the opening)... It just makes me so happy I was born in these times...
As someone who reads the Light Novel, I am extremely excited for the rest of the series. Wish the pacing was a little slower at times, but meh, the show is still really good on its own.
That seems like a weird stop point. I assumed they would end in the royal revenge (right before the island arc), but guess not. Or maybe they'll pull a Goblin Slayer and change the order of the arcs.

@@oscarRifa no, he saves her life but is verbally abusive towards her while she worships him, he and his crew treat her like trash and even refuse to acknowledge her accomplishments, like Naofumi with Raphtalia he saved her from a bad situation but is bad to her while Naofumi treats Raphtalia like a daughter, Rishia's idea saves everyone from Glass and company but Itsuki kicks her out of the group because he thinks she is weak, even worse, instead of being a man and doing it himself, he frames her for breaking some treasure they found and kicks her out, Motoyasu finds her crying and tries to console her, but he is bad with women and Naofumi appears at that time chastising him for apparently flirting with her, he explains the situation while Naofumi sees that she is heading to the sea to kill herself, he intervenes, saves her life and gets her to open up with him, he confronts Itsuki about it, Itsuki tells him his side of the story wich makes Naofumi more angry at him than he ever was with Motoyasu, Naofumi calls him a coward before storming off, disgusted and decides to recruit Rishia to his group by promising he would make her stronger and she would impress Itsuki (given her fragile mental state and worship of the bow hero, it was probably for the best) so she joins and Naofumi has her train martial arts (Hegen Musou) with that old lady adventurer, that Naofumi nicknames Granny, she grows out of her worship for Itsuki but still loves him (to Raphtalia's relief since Naofumi's group at that point is comprised of one man and the rest are all women). Rishia even kicks Itsuki's ass later on and Itsuki gets the worst punishment for using a curse weapon without restraint barring only Motoyasu, who after Itsuki became Naofumi's ally, was hated by Naofumi again.
@@oscarRifa to go into more detail, Itsuki runs his team like a cult, a cult to praise him and his self indulgent idea of justice, whoever gets more kills gets more rewards, the one who doesn't gets mistreated, even going with less food or without food, Rishia is mistreated under Itsuki, including him having her use that fur suit, but she still loves him for saving her life, under Naofumi's tutelage, Rishia becomes stronger, she is basically a jack of all trades and master of none.
This opening is awesome! It makes my spine tingle with ecstasy and thrill! I’m glad the anime hasn’t ended yet, just so I can keep listening to this musical masterpiece.
I like how in the first OP the other 3 heroes were depicted unleashing big magic attacks and such, whereas in this OP they are shown fighting normally. Really shows how as the series progresses it goes from the other heroes being stronger than Naofumi to them being much weaker.
It's true , they're always showing some new stuff in each op. It really depicts that Naofumi does most of the work and that the other heroes are just weak and useless. But this opening also has a depressed atmosphere at first but it's lightened up by Raphtalia embracing Naofumi. It also shows the teamwork they're putting in the final battle with the pope at 1:20. There's so much I didn't analyze in this opening despite watching it many many many times.
Favorite things about this op: - The companions literally and figuratively lightening Naofumi's burden holding up the shield - The confident hand clasp and smug look as he dispels the shield

The more I watch this opening, the more I realize how deep the opening actually is, especially in the beginning half. It shows Naofumi and Raphtalia, both knee-deep in water (tragedy), with rain continuing to pour down on them. They are then both submerged in tragedy, as it cuts in gray to each of their individual struggles. Both defeated and sobbing, at the brink of giving up all hope, they reach out. Then, a ray of hope washes it all away as they reach out, find eachother's hands, connect, and save eachother from their despair. That's my interpretation anyways, man I love this opening so much. It really does a good job at emphasizing how important Raphtalia and Naofumi are to eachother, and how much they rely on one another, both physically in battle, and mentally. They saved eachother, and are so much stronger together than they were individually. Had their hands not met, Raphtalia would still be tormneted and shackled physcially, as would Naofumi mentally. Sorry for weebing out, feel free to flame me.

ACTUALLY THOUGH! I'm surprised at how much the anime is invested in the bond and trust between Naofumi and Raphtalia. Which I am super grateful for. I enjoy this much more than pointless fanservice for the sake of shipping or fans or whatever.

Everytime I watch The Rising of the Shield Hero I feel like I love it more... The animation, the characters (even Malty looks nice)... I just love it so much, the way they fight (everyone, not just Naofumi), the way the other characters help Naofumi (just look at the end of the opening)... It just makes me so happy I was born in these times...

As someone who reads the manga, I am very excited for the upcoming arcs and character introductions. It was cool to see them being teased in this OP.

@@oscarRifa no, he saves her life but is verbally abusive towards her while she worships him, he and his crew treat her like trash and even refuse to acknowledge her accomplishments, like Naofumi with Raphtalia he saved her from a bad situation but is bad to her while Naofumi treats Raphtalia like a daughter, Rishia's idea saves everyone from Glass and company but Itsuki kicks her out of the group because he thinks she is weak, even worse, instead of being a man and doing it himself, he frames her for breaking some treasure they found and kicks her out, Motoyasu finds her crying and tries to console her, but he is bad with women and Naofumi appears at that time chastising him for apparently flirting with her, he explains the situation while Naofumi sees that she is heading to the sea to kill herself, he intervenes, saves her life and gets her to open up with him, he confronts Itsuki about it, Itsuki tells him his side of the story wich makes Naofumi more angry at him than he ever was with Motoyasu, Naofumi calls him a coward before storming off, disgusted and decides to recruit Rishia to his group by promising he would make her stronger and she would impress Itsuki (given her fragile mental state and worship of the bow hero, it was probably for the best) so she joins and Naofumi has her train martial arts (Hegen Musou) with that old lady adventurer, that Naofumi nicknames Granny, she grows out of her worship for Itsuki but still loves him (to Raphtalia's relief since Naofumi's group at that point is comprised of one man and the rest are all women). Rishia even kicks Itsuki's ass later on and Itsuki gets the worst punishment for using a curse weapon without restraint barring only Motoyasu, who after Itsuki became Naofumi's ally, was hated by Naofumi again.
@@oscarRifa to go into more detail, Itsuki runs his team like a cult, a cult to praise him and his self indulgent idea of justice, whoever gets more kills gets more rewards, the one who doesn't gets mistreated, even going with less food or without food, Rishia is mistreated under Itsuki, including him having her use that fur suit, but she still loves him for saving her life, under Naofumi's tutelage, Rishia becomes stronger, she is basically a jack of all trades and master of none.
This opening is awesome! It makes my spine tingle with ecstasy and thrill! I’m glad the anime hasn’t ended yet, just so I can keep listening to this musical masterpiece.

I like how in the first OP the other 3 heroes were depicted unleashing big magic attacks and such, whereas in this OP they are shown fighting normally. Really shows how as the series progresses it goes from the other heroes being stronger than Naofumi to them being much weaker.
It's true , they're always showing some new stuff in each op. It really depicts that Naofumi does most of the work and that the other heroes are just weak and useless.
But this opening also has a depressed atmosphere at first but it's lightened up by Raphtalia embracing Naofumi.
It also shows the teamwork they're putting in the final battle with the pope at 1:20.
There's so much I didn't analyze in this opening despite watching it many many many times.
Man, after binge watching this show this song is now stuck in my head.

@@nel9826 ce que tu dis sur les persos est assez vrai cependant pour le scénario en soit il est loin de n'être pas «ouf» ,perso c'est la première fois ou je vois un héros dans un autre monde être entrain de galérer autant de plus avec une «arme» aussi peu utile en combat mais qu'il réussi a contrôlé et a débloquer un nouveau pouvoir
