At this point in 2006, J.J. Abrams was best known for producing the show "Lost," which was about two seasons in and in its peak. (Abrams was the main executive producer but most of the work was done by Carlton Cruse and Damon Lindelof.) He also produced "Felicity," which starred Keri Russell. She is really playing against that college girl type here even though by now, she has become known largely for some dramatic and action roles.
Cuse, not Cruse ;) But Abrams didn't have much to do with Lost overall. Tom Cruise picked him as the director for MI3 after having seen Alias. Cruise called Abrams even a few times while he was on Oahu filming the Lost pilot and Cruise showed up in the editing room for the Lost pilot. He was one of the first people to see it.
This is Still One Of The Best Mission Impossible movies along with "Fallout " Philip Seymour Hoffman made such a great villian in this one.. [Rest In Peace] 🙏🎬
They did the classic ‘we don’t even know what it is’, hence the dialogue at the end - “what is the rabbit’s foot?” “Promise me you’ll stay and I’ll tell you…”

I think the UK’s closest to Slurpee is Slush Puppies. Slurpee is the brand name from the convenience store chain “7-11” and, at least in Canada, the term Slurpee has become the generic term for the slush drink no matter where you get it. Kind of like how we use ‘Kleenex’ the brand name as the generic term for any tissue.
Detective Dawn back on the case!!! Granted he's one of the greatest actors of all time but I absolutely love the way Philip Seymour Hoffman played Davian. We know PSH can do yelling & threatening scenes better than almost anyone but the way he was so calm and composed when he threatened Ethan and his loved ones was amazing.

This one is probably my favorite. Damien was such a great bad guy. My only gripe is the Rabbit's Foot MacGuffin-and that clearly bothered Dawn too. How many times did she ask, "What is it?"
He defintely does his own stunts. one in particular in one of the later movies, one of the best stunts ever, there is a documentary showing Tom doing it.
You pointed out Laurence Fishburne as an actor in John Wick (2). But you also reacted to Apocalypse Now. Do you recognize him as the young sailor on the boat, who died while he was listening to a recording sent from home by his mother? Apocalypse Now was released in 1979, but it was actually filmed in 1976 -- when Laurence Fishburne was 15 years old!
Cruise DOES do his own stunts, but that's not even the crazy part. He actually DOES the stunt. It's not bullshit, it's not CGI, there's no safety harnesses or foam mats. In one of his movies he climbs on the side of an airplane that's taking off, and he actually did it, for real, without any safety stuff. The only editing they did was remove a camera mounted on the side of the plane that filmed close-up shots.
One of the strangest thing I’ve ever seen when I went to the cinema to watch the 1st one when theme music came on this lad stood up literally dived about 2 rows in front of him then stood up holding he’s fingers like a gun it was so bizarre but funny
When I thought that Mission impossible was just a trilogy I had a problem with the Humpty Dumpty line until ghost protocol came out and we get that scene with Luther that made me feel better about it
"Solomon Lane" is a more dangerous villain in the franchise. "Davian" was a psychopath interested in money and power. "Lane" is an ideological fanatic. Best reaction ever! 👏👏 Thanks for sharing this and for doing an entire MI Week. II & III are not the best. II may be the worst of all them. Even though John Woo, the director has directed some my favorite Hong Kong (eg HARD BOILED) and Hollywood (eg HARD TARGET, and FACE/OFF), I just think he didn’t understand the property. Darker visually, darker atmospherically, darker thematically.
This is a lot of people's favorite mission impossible movie. For it not to get best movie ever will hurt them.
Cruise wanted to work with different directors for each movie. This is why every movie has felt so different.
The Asian girl in this is Maggie Q. She was in a great TV series called Nikita
Very beautiful and completely wasted here. Dawn would enjoy her in Balls of Fury
