Fern your are glowing !! And your El Choco Red is stunning, I got emotional seeing her as a baby versus now; she grew so much !! Thank you for posting such relaxing and informative videos ✨
I love these more focused zoom-ins on your current Beyoncé of the moment! I love hearing the relationship coaster you and the plant went through to reach this elevated status ♥️
Looking forward to more care videos! So many plant TH-camrs have gotten away from them and idk why, they’re such helpful videos. Would love to see one for ghost euphorbia and variegated Bear paw!!
Hi Fern!! This plant is on my wishlist, so I appreciate the care video immensely! I finally got my MIlsbo Wide, along with the Mother Life light, and now I just need to go pick up some wired shelving. Soon I'll have the perfect cabinet to keep her in and then I can make my order. SO excited!!!
I love my El Choco! I got it pretty big already from a seller on etsy. It’s putting out a new leaf, but I have to find him a moss pole. It’s an easy going plant for me, and stunning. Mine is in the sunroom of my house. The room has a humidifier set at 45-50%, and it gets western light and grow lights in the winter. All my plants get fish emulsion super diluted in water most every watering and during watering time every plant gets a shower to dust it off and an Insecticidal soap spray as a preventative treatment.
Your el Choco is SO beautiful 😍😍 In March it’s my birthday and So I bought myself a painted lady philodendron from a wonderful etsy seller and a burle Marx philodendron from botanicaz as an early bday present for myself 😅 now el choco is top of my list!! Yours inspires me to save for one and in fact, your painted lady is what inspired me to buy mine. You’re just so lovely Fern, these videos that kind of zoom in on one plant are so informative and I always learn a lot, thank you🥰
I don't have my el choco in a cabinet. I have it on a shelf near a humidifier and it is doing fine. I also spray the mist the leaves of all my philo's everyday especially ones getting new leaves and only once did I have a leaf get stuck. Misting does help it.
What a stunner, the choco is pretty too 😂 You’re definitely not the only one that thought that about the name! Super excited for the dragonscale care video, I just got one because of how gorgeous yours is. Im obsessed
Been wanting one of these … love these showcase/informative videos … maybe a unpopular opinion but I like these over plant tours … especially when we get to see how much it’s grown from when you 1st got it
My el choco is a huge mama and she lives in 60% humidity just fine! It takes an acclamation period but I want her to get even bigger so I just run my humidifier daily!
I got my tiny philodendron el choco red because I like yours so much 🥰 I think it's a great idea doing care videos again! I found your channel last year when searching for cebu blue care tips 💚
You are definitely not alone on thinking the name was from the color not the region it originated from 😅 Except I thought it was from the way the leaves come in because watching them go from orange to chocolate is so pretty 😍
A wishlist plant for me since I first saw one but I haven't had the opportunity yet. I was getting ready to pull the trigger when I watched a vid of yours and you were saying you were having probs with leaf emersion. Now I see yours and might just do it.
I am rooting p. Melanochrysum and p. Verrucosum right now. I know you touch on yours in chore videos but I would love a care video. Thank you for your hard work!
Ugh fern, your leaves are always so beautiful and green and dark and gorgeous. Idk if its just color correction or your lighting or youtube or something but wow. Its something ive noticed over such a long time and i wonder how you maintain such beautiful color.
I love this! I just ordered one and I’m so excited! How has it done in lower humidity? I have a small verrucosum I’m growing in ambient humidity and it’s doing good, but I’ve only had it a few days.
Just came to say I thought the name was related to it’s chocolate-esque coloring, too. Lol. I just got one that I went in on together with a friend, so next will be propagating it!
Hey Fern, I love ❤️ seeing your El Choco Red plant it is so stunning. I would love to have one of these in my collection. Haha 😂 I honestly thought the same as you Fern that it was called that name because of the colour on the back of the leaves 🙊 Thanks for sharing your tips and care regarding this plant Tc Xx
also love that you stressed how everyone's watering schedule is going to vary, "so, water once a week, twice a week? how often?" knocks top 3 least favorite questions working in a plant shop

Love this plant ! Adding this to my wishlist ! But girl listen I wanted to suggest hanging your bike ? If you’ve got a spot to do so & if it’s not too heavy for you to lift up and down 🙂🤷🏻♀️ I did this in my previous place and just had it hang from the ceiling from a stud in the ceiling!! Xox love your videos always . And your earrings are sooweeet ❤️
Loved this vid! This plant has been on my wish list FOREVER but I’m waiting to get a more permanent place and more room because ha…ya girl already got lots of plants 😂 could you do one for your silver sword?? I know you just chopped it recently but I love that one!
I just got a baby dragon scale dirt cheap and im really nervous about the care🥺 i have some other alos that are doing quite well but i’d LOVE to see a video on that💚
I love your El Choco Red and will be great to see that newbie leaf come in!! I wonder if you could recommend any hanging plants for a southwest window? I have had my Krimson Princess in that window (gets strong daylight during the day) and it has formed two peduncles and flowered a few times now but I am noticing that some of the leaves are starting to turn yellow/green and look a bit burnt (some brown spots) not really sun-stressed look (although, I hope that isn’t due to overwatering!). I don’t think it is overwatering but more likely getting too much sun, I think. Anyway, considering swapping her out for another hanging plant. Any thoughts? Thanks!!!
When you're potting up philodendrons, do you step them up gradually (like a 3" to 4" to 5" pot) or is it OK to jump it from a 3" to 5" or larger? Just got a little Brasil and haven't had a philodendron in years, used to fibrous-rooted gesneriads that definitely object to an abrupt change in "footing."
Mine was still big when I bought it a few months ago. now I'm considering to give it a mosspole too (that's how I found your video). can I ask, what this poles diameter is?
Did you plant up your el choice red when it was that tiny? I have a tiny el choice red and i'm kind of scared to pot it up up i also want it to start attaching to a moss pole
Hey! Question. Mine is pushing a red pod with the leaf inside, but it's massif compared to the plant. Should I help open the pod? I don't want the leaf to get hurt
Yes! I would love to see that too! Yours looks so happy and healthy. 😍 I have two small ones and watch them like a hawk. Lol I see they are becoming more popular. Love your videos!! 🤩
I wishhhh I had an El choco.. I'm gonna allow myself one wish plant with my tax money... It's between this one, Florida beauty, and snowdrift.... I want to find a good price on whichever i choose and I think ultimately it will depend on the prices and that will determine my final decision.
i think it would have grown bigger if you have a bigger pole and the moss is not too congested for the roots to crawl in. bigger roots means bigger leaves
Your el choco red is gorgeous and perfect Fern ❤️ Got mine 1 month ago. Since then lost 2 leaves and the only remaining one has turned completely yellow... a new growth is coming though. Hopefully it can make it. P.S. your lipstick is absolutely stunning! What’s the brand and colour of that? 😍
She is a stunning plant 😍
And, I completely thought it was named El Choco because of its coloring!
Hahah 🥲😄
So excited for this video. I've decided after seeing your El Choco, I'm going to treat myself with one after I pass my MRI registry test. 😃
Amazing! You definitely deserve it 🥰
MRI registry is a tough one... good luck
Good luck with your test internet stranger!
Literally ordered a choco red because of one of your philo videos 🥰
Fern your are glowing !! And your El Choco Red is stunning, I got emotional seeing her as a baby versus now; she grew so much !!
Thank you for posting such relaxing and informative videos ✨

Do you grow philodendron el choco red? Or maybe it's on your wishlist? Let me know!! x
Hi fern good morning ❤️❤️❤️
@@efraemcarltadina8883 good morning 🥰
Absolutely on the top of my wishlist!😍😍
def a wishlist plant but they are going for $1,500-$2,500 in my country right now :|
I really really want a choco red. Ever since I saw 6ours and how sunning it is. Can't wait to get one 😃
That is one gorgeous El Choco Red. I love the bright lines contrasted with the dark green, heart-shaped leaf pattern 😍
Looking forward to more care videos! So many plant TH-camrs have gotten away from them and idk why, they’re such helpful videos. Would love to see one for ghost euphorbia and variegated Bear paw!!
It looks soooo velvety 😍 def a wishlist plant for me
Seeing the size of that leaf (in less than a year!!) is making me so excited to put my plants on poles 😍

I think you mean stoner. Yes she is one

Love the plant.
Love your hair😂.
I just find it so funny that people can just take it upon themselves to name and rename something.
My el choco is a huge mama and she lives in 60% humidity just fine! It takes an acclamation period but I want her to get even bigger so I just run my humidifier daily!
Absolutely love the closing music, chill vibes :).
I got my tiny philodendron el choco red because I like yours so much 🥰 I think it's a great idea doing care videos again! I found your channel last year when searching for cebu blue care tips 💚
Love your dedication to putting anything with a leaf on a moss pole ✊🏻😹
While you look like Angeline Jolie from hackers, your enthusiasm for the plant is simply wonderful. thanks.
Another fantastic video, Fern! This was all I needed to pull the trigger on one of my own. I hope it will be as stunning as yours!
Such a gangster plant. Guess I'll have to get a pole. One of my favorites for sure.
I have a huge mature choco red and it hasn’t lost any of its red. The most mature leaves are about 13” long
You are definitely not alone on thinking the name was from the color not the region it originated from 😅 Except I thought it was from the way the leaves come in because watching them go from orange to chocolate is so pretty 😍

The dewy skin❤️ deyummm you’re looking so beautiful
I want one so badly after seeing yours grow!

Does anyone else just want to sleep on those sofr, pillow, velvety leaves???😍😍😍
haha yes! i was literally gonna comment that id just wanna rub them against my cheek 😆
Can you do a video about how to grow plants from bulbs? That would be pretty helpful. Loved this video. ❤️
What a stunning plant!

Amazing how she grew!
What lipstick are you wearing? I love it!
Look at those large velvety leaves 😍
Will we get a thrips video soon?? Also, I love your earrings! Where did you get them from??

I just got a baby dragon scale dirt cheap and im really nervous about the care🥺 i have some other alos that are doing quite well but i’d LOVE to see a video on that💚
I had the same association with the red backs as 'choco' ^^.
Those leaves look so velvety and shiny! And you're glowing, I love your make up, what lipstick are you wearing? 🥰
Thank you! The lipstick is from a brand called Sam Marcel, I went to find the link and I don't see their website anymore 🧐

Trailing jade, burros tail succulent, and Hoya compacta (regular or variegated) are my favourite hanging high light plants 😃
@@wildfern Thanks Fern! :). Love your content … keep it up!

Very useful this video thanks 👍👍😊😊😊

Hi Fern I have an el choco red and it’s getting really spindly. How do I get it to sprout another stem?
lol I assumed that’s what the name was referring to as well 😂❤
Two beauties on screen at once! 👀
How do you keep your moss pole wet without watering the plant?
Stunning
