Wow, are these developers really taking requests for new features? This could be what I'm looking for. What i'd like is a device that was always plugged into your audio chain, always on, always waiting as you play, waiting for that next inspired moment. If you've heard of the SP-404, then you'll have heard of its 'skip-back mode'. I am looking for something like this but able to loop more than a 40 second beat. 20 minutes minimum would better suit a musician playing to find his muse. That transition from muscle memory, to 'out of body'. when you find yourself playing something inspired this device would allow you to press record and retrospectively capture that already passed moment. The last 5 mins, the last 10, the last 15, the last 20 mins. Each of those buttons could be used to save any of those time frames for later recall and exploration. Ableton Live does something similar with its midi 'Capture' , so why not here, for audio? This looper would then suit musicians everywhere, any and all. Beyond the loop, a template for that next song. that groove you'll never recreate, that progression that came out of nowhere only to disappear as you pressed record. Tag. Capture, don't interrupt the flow.
I searched every where on out to load backing tracks onto the unit. it took hours to work out as no where on the internet, convert backing track to 44100hz - 32 bit - stereo (doesn't work in mono). You know if it has been successful due to the track number on the display will turn from blue to red. I am using it for a backing track player with a simple cc midi player. it works really well, however don't forget to save any changes to volume, one shot etc by pressing the save button twice when prompted.
@@DerekPaulGuitar By the way, does it quantize? Another thing, I want to put it at the end of my pedalboard, which as already an amp/cab simulation, and listen from the headphone output. Will I get a faithful recreation of the sound of my pedalboard or maybe colored? Thank you so much Derek. Keep doing the good stuff!
Does the new NUX Loop Core Stereo Looper work with the NUX NMP-2 Dual Foot Switch? This would greatly improve the versatility and ease of use for this new looper. The original NUX Loop Core does work with the NMP-2 footswitch, but I don't see a CTR IN input for this new stereo looper.
What I really want is a stereo looper that lets me crossfade between the loop and live. The Elektron Octatrack can do it, but that's over my budget at the moment, plus I want something battery powered and compact. Guess that's what microcontrollers are for.
Cool product. Looping is something I've had good mileage out of and had quite a bit of live experience with. For me I find single footswitch loopers difficult to use. Having to double tap to stop, when singing and playing is just beyond my brain capacity! That said, this has a lot going for it. I'd really like the ability to load a pre saved loop and then live loop over it, as this can do. TC Electronic make something very similar, but again they put that technology in to their mini looper not the x2 with the dual footswitches! Why?!!! They were so close to perfection! The 1st company to give me access to live looping over the top of pre-saved patterns/loops, on a looper with dual footswitches, gets my money!
Oooh now that’s a thought, I do like the idea of dual door switches, the whole double tap thing is a little awkward for me, especially being a novice player, more seasoned players wouldn’t care I guess, cheers!
@@DerekPaulGuitar Nah man, it's awkward for everyone. I know guys who do the loop thing as one of their main gigs and they wouldn't use a single switch looper either. It's fiddly in a live environment. There are no do-overs when you cock up a loop playing live! Ha!
I actually got it working great with my airtep midi control pedal, pleasantly surprised! I set it up so I can go up and down in the banks and turn the drums on and off, you can control any aspect of the pedal@@DerekPaulGuitar
Funny that this seems to be a Boss RC-5 but in yellow box and without exp/switch jack but with earphones jack. I mean the layout of those small buttons, jacks, that knob and display is very similar. 99 loop memory as well and no power button, need to plug to out to turn on. And if the unsaved loop is lost if you turn that knob, it's like RC-5. 😅 Are those from the same factory?
I can find no info from NUX or from videos, manuals etc. of what the MIDI functions are. I need to to sync the units clock to link with another Drum machine with Midi out and In
It receives MIDI only for purposes of changing settings on the looper. Page 13-14 of the manual. I don't think you can sync clocks with this looper. That would require the looper to send MIDI back to the drum machine as well.
Thank you for the video. Just looking for clarification on bit specs. Is this 24 bit in mono and 32 bit in stereo. I can't find this info anywhere. ? Thanks
Not necessarily, you’ll just get a cleaner signal path if your effects go through the FX loop, many people in clueing my self just run in in front of the amp and before or after the overdrive pedals depending on what you want to loop, cheers
@@DerekPaulGuitar thanks. I don't use any pedals at all. Have a blackstar Silverline special.. So running the crunch channel and reverb etc, with the loop pedal straight from the guitar to input won't distort the drum loop to the max ? Sorry to be annoying... thanks
Not annoying at all! If you can run the looper through and effects loops then it’ll be a better result, but running it in front of the amp will just act like your guitar signal and whatever effects you have running on the amp will be applied to the loop if that makes sense, cheers
Double click is annoying! Never sure if it stops in time. So you can buy a one button MIDI switch from DoreMidi (or similar) and use their software to set it to on /off.
Good point! I could t see it either, but NUX pedals usually are and it’s a standard thing these days, having said that it was noiseless when not in use, cheers
The Nux Loop Core falls short of being the sole looper I require. Firstly, it lacks a reverse playback feature, or at least it wasn't evident. Additionally, it doesn't offer the capability to record distinct parts for later editing, unlike the Singular Sound Aeros looper. The true revolutionary leap in looper pedals will occur when loopers apps such as Loopy Pro or Loopy HD iOS are made compatible with pedals, and perhaps Poly effects Beebo's customisable looper is closer to that than any other. For simplicity though yeah a pedal with drums isn't bad... just it doesn't inspire me that much, and you didn't demonstrate any other time signatures, other than 4/4.
@wesleydevries7415 read reviews. I know one of the Boss looper pedals has a lot of complaints about glitches/bugs. I have a Lekato looper whis is pretty basic. However, what it does have is the ability to import loops in wav format. So you can make backing tracks on a computer and import them. It has 9 memory slots for loops. It got to the Metal beats & sounded real good, then all it had top do was drop the snare to half time to be heavier ...........instead it went to R&B lol
@@slakethesnakeYes. And with RC-5 you can map expression pedal to adjust for example drums volume if wanted. Unfortunately you cannot use both switch and exp pedal at the same time. However it is possible to use midi controller, but those are quite expensive if you don't have a spare one already.

Thanks dude!!! Some great stuff from NUX!
What a massive setup from their Hook looper. And for only a little more money.
It’s an amazing thing!
Love the relaxed, friendly way you do these vids. And all within a reasonable timeframe. BTW, that Ibanez does not sound too shabby, either.
