    I started making yogurt this way in 2019. It’s my favorite recipe and I also strain it and add a little whey back in.

    I was looking for a recipe like this! I made it this way, then got out of the habit. It was so good! I do like sweet, so I add a can of condensed milk. What do you do with the whey? Thank you for the video!!

    Thanks for the video! How much milk did you use in total along with the 3 TBS of yogurt?
    I see you saved the whey. What do you use it for? I love to be able to use as much of something as possible.

    Very good video! I see you added a couple of tablespoons of whey back into the yogurt, does it improve the appearance or texture? Or is there another purpose.
    I use the whey in place of water when making bread. It works well and adds quite a bit of protein to the bread. And it isn't wasted. Throwing away the whey is throwing away money!

    Thank you! Now I know how to make yogurt in the IP correctly and how to manage the consistency. I think I was just winging it in the past 🙂

    I have been making my yogurt in my instant pot for some time now. I use the Fairlife brand milk and I also add a can of sweetened condensed milk to mine.
    How do you store a portion of your yogurt to make future batches? Can you freeze it?
    Also, what do you do with the whey that you saved?

    • @CamirrasKitchen
      @CamirrasKitchen  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I store it in the fridge if i am makine more yogurt within the next month. it will still be probiotic. you can also freeze like 1/4- 1/2 cup. i would use it w/in 2 months frozen. i use the whey to make bread or probitic mayo.

    I just made yogurt for the forst time yesterday in my instant pot. I have a diffrent style than yours.
    When the 8 hoirs were done, and I removed the top I had a set yogurt. But the top was cool to the touch...the bottom of the instant pot insert was warm, but the top of the actual yogurt was cool. Is that normal?

    How do we find out if it's ultra pasteurized? I just looked & our store has 2 different ones from this brand and one from Stonybrook. Thanks.

    • @CamirrasKitchen
      @CamirrasKitchen  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      almost all organic milk is ultra pasturized. it will say it right on the front of the label.

    • @CamirrasKitchen
      @CamirrasKitchen  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The best you can do in that case is follow my other yogurt tutorial. You will need to heat the milk up to about 120 degrees. This is assuming you are using ultra pasteurized milk.Add in yogurt and set the mixture in the IP. Cover with a plate and a kitchen towel. The IP should be able to prove enough insulation to keep the temp steady for fermentation w/out the setting

    Don't you have to boil the milk first to kill bacteria at 185 degrees and let it cool to 110 - 115 degrees, then introduce the yogurt to the milk? I've seen others do it that way. Is this safe for your gut without boiling milk first through the instant pot? I want to make yogurt, but from watching others, I'm now not sure what's the right way.

    • @CamirrasKitchen
      @CamirrasKitchen  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      ultra pasturized milk has already been heated to 180. this method ONLY applies to ultra pasturized milk since it is basically sterile milk. i have done this for years with perfect results each time. if you are not using ultra pasturized milk, then it must be heated first. i show how to do this in another video.

      @CamirrasKitchen Thank you for your answer. 🙂 I'm going to try this the way you do it. It looks very easy to do. I've always wanted to make my own.

    I've been making this about 2 years. I use Fairlife 2% milk and Fage 2% plain yogurt. I don't like the tang of Greek yogurt so I add a whole can of sweetened Condensed milk. I set mine for 9 hours. I don't strain mine anymore. Yesterday I made it without the sweetened Condensed milk due to health issues, and used vanilla greek yogurt instead. It tastes awful. Too tangy for me. Yuck. I added a couple packets of Monk fruit sweetener to my bowl, but didn't help. Even my berries and granola didn't help. I hate to waste it.

    • @CamirrasKitchen

      If you are used to having sweetened condensed milk, then unsweetened yogurt will be too tangy for you until you taste buds adjust. You can try adding honey to the yogurt. Or using the yogurt in small amount to blend into smoothies
