About the Boeing 747-400:
The Boeing 747-400 stands as an icon of aviation prowess, embodying the pinnacle of the classic jumbo jet design. With its distinctive humpbacked fuselage, four powerful engines, and sweeping wingspan, this majestic aircraft commands attention both on the ground and in the sky.
At a length of around 70 meters and a wingspan reaching over 64 meters, the 747-400 is a true giant of the skies. Its sheer size allows it to carry an impressive payload of passengers and cargo, making it a popular choice for long-haul flights across continents and oceans.
Inside, the spacious cabin of the 747-400 offers a range of seating configurations, from luxurious first-class suites to comfortable economy seating. Passengers can enjoy amenities such as in-flight entertainment systems, ample legroom, and panoramic windows offering breathtaking views of the world below.
Powered by four high-bypass turbofan engines, the 747-400 is not only capable of cruising at speeds of up to 570 mph (920 km/h) but also boasts remarkable fuel efficiency for an aircraft of its size. This efficiency, coupled with its long range, makes it a versatile workhorse for airlines around the globe.
Despite being a stalwart of the skies for decades, the 747-400 continues to impress with its reliability, versatility, and enduring appeal. Whether transporting passengers on transoceanic journeys or ferrying vital cargo across continents, the Boeing 747-400 remains a true legend of aviation.
Boeing's greatest contribution to the world of aviation.
I believe Lufthansa is the only airline still operating the 747 for transporting passengers.
In addition to Lufthansa, there's Air China, Rossiya, Korean Air, and Saudia. Asiana recently retired their 744.
I was fortunate to have a connection in Frankfurt, Germany last Summer. That's where Lufthansa's 747's are based. I think I saw about 15-20 at the different gates. It's a site I'll never forget!!🛫
I adore the Boeing 747-400 the Queen of the Skies so much ✈️😊🫶.
I live in Atlanta and grew up going to the flight museum with my father, so this made me tear up for some reason! Haven’t seen this 747 yet but I need to go now. I’ve probably been on this jet a few times in Delta One as a kid while my father worked the flight. Seeing it gutted and hallowed out is kind of sad to see but also allows you to truly appreciate it and all the wonderful memories and experiences it has provided for pax. Glad I got the AMEX 747 Delta SkyMiles Reserve card while I could!
Very cool video thank you. Keep posting stuff like this
Thanks, will do!
OMG bro this video gave me goosebumps seeing the old seats wow...
This video was so dope captain Z. Thank you. I guess I'm a closet delta fan boy. Haha ❤
I'm so happy you liked it.
I have been with Northwest/Delta for 28 years and I'm sad to say that this was my first visit to the Delta Flight Museum. It was awesome.
@@CaptainZtravels wow..... I love you even more captain Z! Haha absolutely amazing. Thanks for (maybe) flying me, (and for sure) my fam, friends and love ones alllll around the world. ❤🛫✈🛩
It’s on my bucket list
This is amazing!
Are there any 747s still flying?
Yes, I think Lufthansa has some new 747-800s. There's a bunch of cargo operators operating them.
Do a video on becoming a pilot, and the best path to do so nowadays.
I get a lot of requests for this. So much so that I'm working on something for those young or starting pilots that are looking for advice. Stay tuned!
Wow 😮, that's so cool and I wish I could visit there in person, I volunteer at the HARS Aviation Museum in Albion Park Rail we have the Boeing 747-438 “VH-OJA, City of Canberra” aircraft permanently displayed at my work I love working there so much 😁💕.
I just checked out your museum - very, very nice! That Qantas 747 looks beautiful. I would love to check out that museum sometime. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching.
@@CaptainZtravels Aww, you are so welcome 🤗
Thanks for sharing this Cap’n Z. Always loved the Queen! Lots of fond memories riding jump seat on these pre-9/11. The flight deck was larger than my first apartment.😂
LOL, I know what you mean, I live in Manhattan!
I'm happy you are enjoying the channel.
Lived in NYC for many years and finally moved out to Long Island. Your channel does an excellent job of focusing on my two favorite passions..aviation & food! Keep up the great work Jeff.

Because it’s much better to build brand new aircraft rather than to do overhaul the entire aircraft . They are retired it cost more to operate.
Captain Z why can't they allow these 747's to continue to fly for another 20 years.
'They' don't not allow them to fly I think it's a question of economics. Two engine airplanes are the way to go now.
Aft pressure bulkhead…. I bet those poor bastards on jal123 wish they never knew about that aft pressure bulkhead
Or, better yet, had it repaired correctly.
Is this a retirement home or a cemetery? There is a way to find out. Switch on the plane! She is enjoying her retirement if she can still speak. If she is a grumpy old woman, she will take advantage of her freedom and say bad things like TERRAIN and PULL UP. Mostly because the pilots did not let her use obscene words like that at work.
Very well done video, wow thanks Captain Z. 🫂
Glad you enjoyed it
