    The word “Brave” doesn’t just refer to fighting or surviving difficult situations it’s beyond just. Their castle is based off of multiple castles in Scotland especially Dunnottar Castle

    Fergus is one of my favorite animated dads. Absolutely adores his wife, loves and plays with his kids, throws himself in front literal bears multiple times for his family, gives his kids freedom but not to the point he becomes unreliable parent.

    11 years later and I’m still waiting for a sequel to this underrated masterpiece. There have been follow ups to Frozen and Wreck it Wralph, why not this?

    • @abc.animal5143
      @abc.animal5143 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      It doesn’t need a sequel

    • @TSIRKLAND
      @TSIRKLAND ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Other films have had sequels, exactly. Merida was a well-written character, as a head-strong teenager. (Kinda' impulsive, kinda' whiny, heart in the right place, but not wise enough yet to know the right thing to do. A more mature Merida could have learned from her adolescent mistakes, and grown from head-strong teenager, to strong-willed young woman.). Her family dynamics were super fun. If done right, a sequel would be an awesome chance to see what new events test Merida's "Brave"-ry. Keeping with the theme of not living for a man's approval, I would hope that any sequel would have no romantic entanglements of any kind- not even rejecting them, just not needing them. Brave was from a time where Disney/Pixar was experimenting with their tried-and-true formula of "princess gets prince and lives happily ever after." Merida's active rejection of arranged (or coerced) marriage was an early step away from that, toward something like Moana, where there was no love story at all; just a main character, going on a quest. Maybe some of the other Clan boys might be involved, but as fellow Scots, not as potential love matches. It would be fun to see the triplets as teen boys, and a more mature young-woman Merida finding her footing as a true princess and leader of her clan. It would be nice to see how her relationship with her father and mother has deepened.

    This film gets a lot of flak, but I still love it. I think it's a beautiful story about a daughter and mother bonding. Even if in an unconventional way. It's not quite as powerful of a film as Maquia When the Promised Flower Blooms, which is a similar story about a mother and son, and highly recommend watching it.

    What you missed with the tapestry being cut, is that tapestries couldn't be ordered they were hand made at that period of time. The queen personal spent what would have been years making it and where the cut was was Merida all but literally cutting her mother out of the family.

    Brave is a nice film.
    However, like later on with The Good Dinosaur, the only problem with it is that it has a paper-thin story that was low for pre-2020 Pixar standards.
    Again, it's not terrible. It's just that it pales in comparison to Toy Story, Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars, Ratatouille, WALL-E, and Up.
