Powercreep has been in any game. Problem is people are trying to get every single character because known CC are saying they need them instead of actively building up the characters they already have or getting copies of those characters when a rerun happens. I literally only own one limited DPS unit in HSR. Yunli and have cleared all content in the game for the longest with my little 4* gambler because I built and pulled for teams around her to make her stronger as well as getting copies on reruns. My second team has been Clara who eventually reach C6 after so many 50/50 fails (last one being on Yunli) because counter counter team is funny. Heck my third team is Crit rate Lingsha who does a surprising amount of damage. All characters I really like and I want to take as far as possible.
Honestly power creep is just something that happens. There are some exceptions in some characters but when it comes to gacha games. The longer the game goes on the stronger the units have to be. Literally just look at dokkan. Arguably the biggest gacha game out there

Play testers are finding that Evelyn is only fractionally if any better than Zhu Yuan in damage figures, chalked up to margin of error between disk drives. Don't pull your hair out over this.
genshin is disgustingly worse tha powercreeping... they made new characters with special LAZY mechanics needed. Like oh you are from fontaine? then your skill will disable enemies so mandatory. Natlan even better: you need a natlan character in party and then you need a specific tribe character... powercreep is nothing compared to that BS.
This showed you don't really understand mechanics or never played the game. Fun fact: Fontaine mechanics are not mandatory and are so weak that you can just brute force it. Heck some enemies can easily die before triggering the second pneuma and ousia mechanics since they have a 6 sec cd... The community forgot the pneuma and ousia mechanic even exist up to this point unless it requires for puzzles due to the fact how negligible it affects them and the elemental reaction reign supreme over it. Natlan characters destroying enemy shields from their region is even slower in most cases due to the fact most of them don't have fast NA attack speed especially on Papilla boss even a aggravate or burning or hyperbloom team is faster than other Natlan characters since the shield relies on the number of Hits you can apply so faster NA attacker is also good for team lineup or characters with multiple skill or burst Hit application. Secret source boss so far is the one who wants characters that can climb or jump on the platform but you can ignore this and keep attacking it and time your dodge to I frame, use a shield, run away from its range then come back or time your ult for I frame.
All I hear in this convo at the end of the day, you can’t please anyone and everyone so the game can do whatever they want. Even in Wuwa some char also get outshine by other too. It’s gacha and this a a way to create revenue but people always fall for marketing and blames it on company Bsc it’s a gacha. You opted in a Gacha genre and hope it to be not that. This game have no barrier of entry and exit While company holds majority of the responsibility imo, the people playing the game especially adults which most of them are should be cognitive of this tactic but nope. Gacha gamers especially the once I seen online are babies in adult form. That’s just unfortunate.
