Hamlet is fully launched! A great big thank you to everyone who participated during our Early Access period. The Don’t Starve community is one of the best to interact with, so full of passion and enthusiasm for all things in the Constant. We have thoroughly enjoyed the journey with you, dropping Wilson and his friends into this world of civilized pigs and dangerous jungles.
As a special thank you to all of the Don’t Starve players and fans, Wagstaff has been made available to everyone who has the base game and is not exclusive to the Hamlet DLC.

The joke is that you shouldn’t starve if you make it through everything else, and that not starving is easier than some of these nightmare beast.
That about sums it it up. Starvation rarely kills me, it's usually either a mob or my own stupidity. Like today, I found the Fountain of Youth and was like 'I know that thing is here but...I'm gonna trigger it anyway!' and then I died.
For once in my life I actually caught a game early and have seen it evolve. It feels weird to see it released and finished fully...

Not to mention how it just drains your sanity by looming over you. Then again that giant bird showing me how insignificant I am as it looms over me would also probably make me go a bit coocoo for cocoa puffs.

Nothing but respect and admiration for this update Klei. You really took the Don’t Starve Formula and put it on it’s head not once, but *twice now* in a way that makes it similar to the base game, but still drastically changes gameplay. I hope you continue to make quality updates like this! It’s great to see the game go from the little new game it was, to an expansive game that will be played for years to come!
I would say that, but I can't play hamlet. If we ever get it, It'll be multiple years from now at this rate.

Me and my girlfriend have been playing don't starve together sense it's beta days and still play today and I am glad to see you are one of the few indie team's out there that keep up-to-date with there games on a regular biases I hope you keep it up many more years

I love EVERYTHING about this video!! Even that small detail in 0:59, when it shows everyone's houses, they're all related their owners. For example Wilson's looks like his lab from the official trailer when Wicker's full of books, Willow has a young lady's house with her girl scout props in the background and etc! All I need now is time to play it~ Thanks Klei for such developement!

Don't Starve brings my mom and I together :) It was the first game I have seen her buy for herself! We play DST most weekends (and some weeknights!) and talk about new strategies. I've been showing mom the monthly animations and she just ADORES them! Klei has done something magical and has bridged the gap between me and mom! We talk more too, and it even is about stuff other than Don't Starve, but it was a catalyst that started everything!
You guys make unique and fun games and I just want to say thanks!

I still get just as excited now as I did when the very first DLC was released for solo don't starve! It's been an amazing game to watch grow and evolve and I can't wait to see what else you've got for us in future ❤

Epic Games does listen to its community, though. They add most of the content people request, although they don't answer/heart comments. Klei just does both: answering/hearting comments and adding the content people want

mad respect to klei for all the hard work and incredible content they're pumping out all the time. everything they're putting out is great and I'm honestly baffled by the stuff they're doing lately from character updates, to hamlet's launch, to all the AMAZING animations they're spoiling us with.. keep up the great work :D
For those wondering who the mysterious robot was at the end of the trailer, after you defeat a certain boss you can use that suit for a while, it's not a character just another weapon.

His perks wasn't really polished but he was great character visually. I liked his adventurer/hunter feel.

Warbucks might be reused later on either as a dlc character for DST, or maybe another dlc for DS. Not sure tho, just gotta hope ;)

I’m so happy to see this game grow over time, I play since 2015 and already saw 2 complete new dlcs launch in this period of time. This is one of those indie games that just grow and grow more with time

2 years later, this is still the best game and set of DLCs i've ever bought. Tysm Klei, keep up the good work!
I love playing as Wagstaff. Finally a character who wants to be in the Constant, and he's also enthusiastic about everything around him (my only problem with him is that his voice gives me headaches for some reason).... but science!!! I can stand, and shall stand, a headache for science!!!. I haven't tried Wheeler yet, but I also want to see how's her way of doing things.
One of the things I wish to see is a conversation between Wilson and Wagstaff. Being both of them inventors it would end up in a very nerdy conversation about science, inventions, science, NO-MAGIC-PLEASE, and science (and then Wilson fanboying over the fact that Wagstaff created the radio). I just hope these two find each other one day.

Wouldn't be cool if Shipwrecked and Hamlet are in DST? If Klei add them in to DST, I believe lots of people will go insane:). I mean if ROG is northern grassland and taiga. Then SW is tropical monsoon, near the equator. And Hamlet is tropical rain forest and highland, also near the equator. In the Forge, you can see DoyDoy in the audiences. And the whole map is surrounded with lava. So the Forge might be in the SW's volcano or other magma biome. So it means Wilson and other characters traveled to SW through the Ancient gateway.
If SW will be add in DST, Walani and Woodleg seems used to be pirates and they were on the same ship (According to the character quotes) before they get transport into the DS world,. But different from others, they got landed on the islands of SW. For Wilbur and Warly, I think it's easy to think their origin.
For Hamlet, I don't have a very particular idea for how to travel there. But I think it rather uses the gateway as SW, or some new special event if Klei decided to add SW and H in DST. Oh and, wouldn't be surprise if Wagstaff is actually Wilson's father? They both do science and they both got crazy hair style.
Here is some of my other ideas :
1. Blueprints for only certain characters. Like some complicated engineering blueprints can only be learn by characters like Winona or Wilson. Some spider related blueprints that only Webber can understand it. And other recipes.
2. Craftable clockworks. I always wanted to own my own clockwork creature beside to fix them in the ruins. Not only me, Maxwell is also a fan of those robotic beings, he just forgot how to build them. The blueprint for making them can according to idea1 that can be only learn by certain characters like Wilson, Winona, WX78, even Maxwell himself. Knight and bishop can help players fight mobs and bosses, and rook can help player farming trees and marble (Makes them very expensive to make).
3. Woodie rework. Woodie needs a buff, really. Woodie has one value --- chopping trees. And there are many ways to farm trees that are more efficient than Woodie and Lucy. And his warebeaver form is not that useful, he cannot even pick up Glommer's flower in full moon. Come on, Woodie was one of my favorite character.
Other than those. Thank you Klei, you always brings me happiness. Hope you like my ideas. We love you

This game is very unique because the first time you play.. You'll find yourself getting rekt quite a lot.. But then once you've learnt from your mistakes and known what to do.. It's get much thriller! It's a wonderful experience. The base game and RoG and Shipwrecked Dlcs are not that hard tho, compared to this ultimate challenger called Hamlet.
The best tutorial you got is dont starve wiki... Just spend sometime wandering through articles there and you'll master the art of surviving the constant! Have fun!

I got my winter hat in autumn last year and now that I survived winter I can witness another dlc from one of my favorite games!
Hamlet is a lot like a more exotic Don’t Starve, with it having a lot of aspects from normal Don’t Starve and reign of giants like the Pigmen and spiders and it changes these aspects quite a bit compared to other expansions like by making Pigmen more civil and orderly or turning the spider into a more exotic creature by making it a big gorilla spider, this really add to the undiscovered adventurous theme by making it just that, props to Klei.
I'm not big on games, but Don't Starve is probably the only one that's ever intrigued me. I hope Switch gets more features- I really want to try out the together mode.
