The curves are marvellous.. and the speeds of the various elements (trains) featured here make so much sense... Y’know.. there are some who might comment or even complain that the backgrounds or Dioramas (sp?) are too neat and tidy to be believable and many might agree with them.... until of course they themselves travelled to Japan to see that many of the towns and villages are indeed that neat... I must admit that the first time I visited Japan, I found the reality of it a little unnerving...
"How does it stack up to gundam, I wonder?" I like to mix the two hobbies, and I can tell you that it is far more expensive, but just as rewarding. It does my heart well when I see my locomotives steam by the wrecked, dilapidated GM I've got proped up against the hillside. N scale is close enough to 1/144, for things to be the correct size. Thank you for showing us this layout by the way.
@@VRGRPK the gundams scale is in 1/144 whilst japanese n scale is 1/150 to represent the narrower gauge of their train tracks so they are pretty close in scale.
I still remember when this place was still in tokyo...aww old memories when I was in japan.........I went here in saitama when this place moved ...i need to go again...
Ik the video is old but you should check the "Our home and Miniature land" when it opens in Canada. It's a huge wearhouse that models Canada and is worth around 2 million dollars or more
I had to pick up my bottom jaw and get a neck brace from shaking my head in utter amazement. Oh My GOD...this layout is a new level of SICK! I would LOVE to see this in person.
Corey Kesler I\'m not sure but ,if anyone else wants to uncover how to build a model railroad layout and scenery try Megarno Railroad Membership Magician ( search on google ) ? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my mate got amazing results with it.
I know they can model the cantenarys and overhead wires for the trains but they would be really painful to model and maintain. Still they preserved the modern Japanese modern rail system where most rail lines are elevated rails in urban areas. Great work.
interesting points ,if anyone else needs to find out about ho model train sets try Corbandy HO Scale Crusher ( search on google ) ? Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my cousin got great results with it.
Most in the Japanese train, unusual vehicle is the sky blue Oito Line. Once upon a time, is a line that has become a waste line. Past the main railway company of Japan was the Japanese National Railways. JNR by the administrative reform is now JR (privatization). Railways train was not a thing has been operating only in efficiency. Such as embodying the ideal that makes sense from the perspective of iron nerd, now in the vehicle that there can be no there was a lot to the whole country. Appeared in the Japanese National Railways his later years, the vehicle [Oito Line Sky Blue]
I have dreams of experiencing the culture. I do wish my brother would think about finding peace going to Canada on their train and learning about the wildlife. He’s been getting in a grudge match with the Canadians in hockey. I’m worried about him.
In the case of Kato's models, their US branch can import some of their Japanese models for a (relatively inflated) price - just talk to your local hobby shop. Can't speak for other manufacturers, but there are some sellers on eBay.
What you see is literally at the Japan Rail (JR) museum. In Japan there is really only two major railroad companies. JR manages the bullet trains. Why some of these are probably available to hobbiest this is a 1 off setup. I have actually been there to see this place. The building is a converted train workshop and still an active station. Appears they shuffle some stuff in and out of display.
There are many factors in diy railroad layouts. One plan I discovered which succeeds in merging these is the Jareks hobby club (check it out on google) it's the best guide that I have ever seen. look at all the amazing info .
If "the kids" bother him then he is free to block them. As you can see, they are all still commenting and watching his videos, meaning that it doesn´t bother him.
Do you know what respect means? I have been watching in non stopping "quite few videos" up to this one and all the times I went to look at the comments I saw you complaining about what other people says/likes/thinks. You are starting to make me question if you are here for watching Robert´s videos or enjoy your time teasing people. I encourage you to stop it and enjoy the videos like everyone else.
Not as nice as others because the Japanese are so concentrated on showing off technology (admittedly the bullet train is interesting and worthwhile) but it's all city and nothing rural. Is Japan 100% cities?
+Daryl Chapman The musium is ran by JR. (Japan Railway). It is suppose to represent a ideal image not what it is realistically. This is just one tiny room of this place. Majority of the place has everything from one of the first trains brought to Japan to retired bullet train. With commuter trains intermixed with some exhibits where you can see the controls of the train. Also has some kiddy trains you can pay to ride around a set loop.
I have been collecting for most of my life collecting everything railroad. I have a small collection. And some video games I have two videos on my channel check it out

Amazing to think that I sat in all of those on my 20 day trip of Japan. The JR Rail Pass really opened up the country for us

Hi!
What do you mean by 1/144?
N Scale is supposed to be 1/160…
@@VRGRPK the gundams scale is in 1/144 whilst japanese n scale is 1/150 to represent the narrower gauge of their train tracks so they are pretty close in scale.
Patrick thanks for the info 🙏
Been Japan 4 times in the last 3 years and now have another reason to go back. Nice upload
that amount of flying suggests that you have no children nor grandchildren. or maybe you just don't give a flying fig for the planet ??
@@raymondo162 No kids but take care of nieces. Going to and from a country once a year (twice one year) is bad!? Damn! I have doomed mankind.

What a beautiful layout. Nice commentary from you as well.
Wow I've never seen that video before. The best part is the long smooth Cant curves
Amazing layout, thanks for the video.
Why was this recommended to me in 2021?
lightyears away from these old school layouts in Germany and Europe. Like this modern stuff.
Germany AND Europe, yes thats way, way, way different as Yokohama and Japan.......
-even the curves are banked! as impressive as the prototypes!
Only one major error - no catenary installed! But maybe they wanted to make the model trains more visible?
This is awesome!! Did they happen to mention how large the layout was? Really hoping one day I'll be able to make it there and see it myself.
Ik the video is old but you should check the "Our home and Miniature land" when it opens in Canada. It's a huge wearhouse that models Canada and is worth around 2 million dollars or more
Finally SOMEBODY is doing more realistic and correct curvature hahaha Excellent video, only took me so many years to find it though XD

Superb layout. Dear Japan: I will visit your wonderful county.
Perfectly choreographed presentation.

Thanks for sharing, really interesting video, makes a change to see non UK models.
This is just nuts! Incredible!
Have you seen the Miniatur Wunderland in Germany? It actually makes this impressive layout look small.
YAY I got to see inside the railway museum! Thanks Rr184
I've seen the layout in person, provided iPad only 12 (currently 16) but I remembered it being N scale
what a beautiful layout
I would like a cam car on that track...

I built catenary for my railroad and I never needed to maintain it. It’s made out of brass poles and phosphor bronze wire. (It is not powered).
Do you know the MiniaturWunderLand in Hamburg?
I am from Hamburg and it is the biggest model railway in the world
AWESOME!!!!! Thank you for sharing and keep up the good work.

Take your scam site trash elsewhere dude. Disgusting spammer of a Troll !
I like to see them put the Den-Liner and the King Liner from Den-O into this diorama.
Damn I must see this in person. Where do I book a flight to Japan????
They even have the train station music
Man Chair My love for anime is what makes me fond of Japanese music
Miniature Japan! Love it!

That was amazing!
You should have used zoom to check out the details.
Great layout. All it needs is the giant Godzilla monster.

My local hobby shop is over 2 hours away lol. But when i can imma see about buying them
Make sure they keep good stock of Kato's products.

is that a model of Hiroshima?
If that’s japan, then where is godzilla?
Well, its a realistic representation of Japan, not a movie set.
Я думаю, что такие радиусы на макете меня, любителя и собирателя моделей ж.-д. даже возбуждают.

Very nice vid. Her droning monotone commentary just states the obvious, so hit the mute button, eliminate the annoying kid and cheesy music and enjoy!

whow
hope I was there
Still not as good as the one in Germany, nice try by the way
why does everyone wears a mask
Plane crash
that background announcer constantly yapping is so annoying
If you speak Japanese, it's not annoying.
Model is too clean, not realistic.. (very nice, but not realistic)
