This has to be the most amazing model railway/railroad display I have ever seen. Every aspect of daily, true to life events, has been covered in every corner of this layout, and the detail is absolutely amazing. Great layout, definitely on my wish list, one day, next time I visit the states.

COLIN DAVENPORT better you visit the Miniatur Wunderland in Germany , much bigger more detailed, much more trains, different terrains( from switzerland to italy, norway usa and much more even a big big airport with flying planes

People need to "build" their own "worlds" and social structures...because the "REAL ONE" is being denigrated on a daily basis. Rock on. Dream on.

Detailing realism to the max is shown in these layouts my hats off to the creators of all this.

A standard rule for video is use a stationary platform (tripod pr mono-pod) pan slowly and remain on a image you want to pay special attention to for a minimum of 3 seconds - this will help you produce great videos.

Agreed. Always remember: when you're taking a filming of any miniature, it's IMPERITIVE you do not rush, as you are both recording the "facts" about something, and you are the actual eyes of the people watching the video. Unfortunately, '...was a busy day...' is irrelavent to the viewer.
It's ALWAYS BEST to have a host "explore" with you so the viewers can get a true appreciation for the size and also quality of the subject matter.
You need to go through layouts this size, after you're well familiar with what you want to convey about it. A well PLANNED VIDEO gets you many more likes. You cannot create a 14 minute video this brief of a "HUGE" LAYOUT that would be better suited for at least an hour or more and expect all thumbs up, as you've no doubt discovered. I just viewed probably one of the most frustrating 14 minutes I have in decades. I don't need to see each detail, just some overviews of main areas and , like a few key scenes within each to feel the quality.
Luckily, I'm a modeller, so I already know if it's a club open to the public, I will plan to see it myself, soon.
Structure, structure, structure / plan, plan, plan, & your vids will yield way better comments and likes. You get thumbs up from me for the very Idea of sharing this layout, and the exterior shots, but yeah, work on the composition of the video like you would "a project". Your viewers will be wanting to save it, and watch it over, & over, and, I'll bet the club will be much happier too.
      Good luck.
(I'm sure the re-do is better, but, I'll pass, thanks.) 🤔🦗🦗🦟🦟🦟🎢
Rating: 2 grasshoppers; jumping around unexpectedly and not knowing where I am on the layout; 3 mosquitos; getting irritated by not staying long enough on big areas of detail or a single thing- pulling away b4 identifing what i'm looking at. 1 Rollercoaster; what I just watched. Too fast to appreciate the size.

    • @WWZenaDo

Agreed. Try muting the video first time through and stop the video and advance it bit by bit on the segments you find were too fast. Then watch it at normal - or below normal - playback speed.

Absolutely incredible and "off the charts"! Members are truly artists, perfectionists, and all with great imaginations. HOWEVER, not to be a spoiled sport but with an enormous layout like this, where is a MAJOR yard? I saw a smaller one which I guess services ships but ..? -- Again, however, WOW !! Thank you!

Its beautiful but its not the largest. Germany has that title with Mini Wunderland in Hamburg. 50,525ft of track, 73,195 sq ft of floor space and 16,038 sq ft of layout. I went there two months ago and its unreal. Trains are not the only thing that moves. Cars, trucks, buses, fire departments, and even people. Awesome layout the germans did.

It SURE would've been such a treat to be a videographic "passenger" or "trainee" as a session progressed, SRM!! I have been with Tex-N in the dallas area and op'd on quite a few that were very challenging due to their larger sizes- even modual types at the OKC show!! It's like you ACTUALLY GO SOMEWHERE on the layout vs seeing your destination 3 feet away!

You got swept up in the reatness of this layout. Go back and redo this and don't let the grandness insult your talent with a video camera.

You were scanning faster than your camera could focus. and were bouncing around so much you need to what more of other peoples videos that know how to take good video. there's even on line classes that can give you some good tips on being better at shooting video... I know I've been learning for about 10 years now. No one is ever perfect at it. We who care just keep learning and try to get better. and you only get better by being willing to take the time to learn how to be better at shooting videos... You DON'T get better just by doing it. You ONLY GET BETTER by LEARNING how to do it...
