Good restoring for this awesome old diecast i had the orange one still keeping it simce 1979 but mine in bad condition and i wish to restore it as you did
now they look as new again (aside that stupid fork above the towhook, I used to cut those off when I was a kid), great restoration again. :) I think the Capri never came in cardboard boxes, only in blisters. but the box looks legit. :) I have a good number of those in various colours. it seem they sometimes switched the rooftops. also the blue ones were not always printed on the roof.
Good choice of car. I always loved the Capri. These look amazing. Glad You did 2 👍I like the orange one best. I THINK it's orange. I AM color blind. lol
These two Ford Capris came out awesome Paul, but when l saw them with the vinyl roof off, l thought one of them woukd look great as a an Aussie Ute pick up truck , it woukd certainly look different 😀 😉 👍..... but yiu did a great job of both of them as usual 😀👍
someone in germany put gullwing doors on one. quite spectacularly, too, as the lower three handwidths were folding down. and it's street legal, which was quite the accomplishment back when... :)
While the front end has some similarities to a MkII British Ford Capri they are left hand drive so,...? The wide body molding is consistent with MkII and MkIII Ford (British) and Mercury (Cologne built) Ghia cars. Maybe I'm being picky for a 1:60 scale model but the roof, rear window and rear quarter panel is nothing like any Capri ever produced. While the restoration is very good, I find it painful to look at the deeply sunken front and rear glass. It is great these have been restored for people to enjoy, but they just don't give my favorite car (the 1976 Mercury Capri II I built to 1982 Ford Capri 3.0S specs) justice it deserves.
@@kevinsellsit5584 I have to disagree. I'm from germany, and the Capri Mk2 are still seen here. the model might be a tad bit too short in proportions, the rest is actually, accurate, as the Mk2 had only single headlights. the vinly rooftop also reached down below the rear window (also large rear tailgate like the Mk3 which is officially a facelift of the Mk2), so that's accurate as well. the only thing is the colour combos, as Ford of Europe only used black and saddle tan vinyl rooftops (rumour has it that Ford UK also probvided a blue roof as a special order), unlike any european Fords that went to the US market. I'm not sure where the Mercury Capri was produced, actually, but I guess Belgium.
